Isadora snorted quietly, closing off her luggage once she felt as though she had what she needed. "Tell me about it. He's needed someone to put him in place for years now," she told him, looking at him from across the room. Her father always did as he pleased as well as spoke how he pleased, but now Xevon had showed him that not everyone would deal with his crap.
Isadora laughed slightly, shrugging. "Now that's a good question. I would imagine it's a whole council, but maybe between both of our pretty faces we will be able to sweet talk our ways straight into their center," she joked, grinning ever so slightly. |

Xevon shrugged loosely. "Well, sometimes it's a wonder he managed to get as far as he did with the way he runs his mouth," he scoffed, mocking the way the king walked for a moment or two. "But, I digress." His eyes glittered with slight mischief and delight as she continued to speak. "I imagine with a pretty face or two, a few pleading words or simply questions... we can go pretty far. If not straight to the top!" Xevon set his trunk down on the ground and stood in front of the window. "But the more pressing worry? How comfortable is the carriage going to be? We're going to be in it for a while." |

Isadora was resisting the urge to absolutely die at the way he mocked her father. "You're so bad!" She teased, giggling as she moved her trunk to sit on the ground as well. "The trip shouldn't be bad at all. I think we will be able to make good progress, we just have to get there," she smiled, quietly padding closer to look out the window as well.
"I doubt it'll be very comfortable at all, but I suppose we will just have to deal with it. At least we won't be too cramped, for the most part," she shrugged, looking at the courtyard below where servants were preparing the carriage for the pair to leave. |

Xevon shrugged loosely, grinning back at her. "You should've seen my father. He... goodness gracious, he would've torn your father a new one," he shook his head, chuckling slowly. "He wasn't afraid of anyone or anything. Guess that's why he had to go... so soon." His eyes flickered before the young man shrugged it off and followed her to the window, looking to the courtyard. The carriage wasn't terribly long, or large, but it was at least... cozy. He hoped. "Sleeping is going to be an absolute beast," he grumbled lightly. "I may just try and ride outside the carriage so I can stay awake." |

Isadora couldn't help the glimmer of a frown that crossed her face. She hated that he'd lost his father, and knowing it was likely due to his fearlessness, it made her... Scared? Xevon seemed to take after him for sure, and a part of her was afraid that he'd meet the same early fate. She wouldn't admit it to herself that she cared that much, however.
Isadora hummed and nodded as she looked at the carriage. "I haven't ridden much. I always liked to try, but I'm not very good at it," she laughed slightly, glancing up at Xevon. "It's like horses always seem to have something against me," she sighed, remembering her first encounter with one of the majestic beasts. She had been thrown her first time after the horse had spooked for some reason. Thankfully she wasn't hurt, but it wasn't her most graceful moment either. |

Xevon glanced back for a moment and shook his head. "Depends on the horse and the person," he finally mused. "I don't know much about that, it wasn't my area of expertise. I just rode what they told me to." He paused, silent, before snorting. "And a few things they told me not to." As he finished, Xevon stooped to grab his trunk and stood up again. "I guess I'll meet you down there," he prompted after a moment, deciding to give her a bit of space. He was used to always pestering someone else but he knew she was far more reclusive than he ever was. Some alone time would do her good. Hopefully. |

Isadora giggled, shaking her head slightly. She hadn't totally sworn off riding, but she likely wouldn't do so unless she absolutely had to. Not until she had a little more practice within the saddle. As he said that he'd meet her down, she nodded slightly. "Alright. I won't be long," she said softly, moving away from the window.
The moment of quiet would likely do her some good, as the pair hadn't exactly been as silent as she first thought they would. In fact, their time together hadn't exactly been unbearable either. Hopefully being cooped up in a carriage wouldn't change that. She really didn't want the intrusive thoughts of strangling him in his sleep to come about. The thought was a joke, of course, but she knew how they could be.
Isadora decided to freshen up a bit before heading down to the courtyard. She dressed herself in something more suited for travel, leaving her long locs flowing down her back. Seeking a moment longer of silent, she prayed over their trip, that everything would go well and they'd leave with good answers. Once she had her peace, Isadora grabbed her luggage and headed to go on and meet Xevon so that they could leave. |

Xevon, the moment he had slid from the chambers, leaned against the wall. His head dropping back as he looked up toward the ceiling. Somehow, he wanted--no--he knew, he knew... that it was all an act. Still. It was still just an act. The teasing, the ribbing, the everything. How could he actually... feel anything? It was easy to copy the actions of his father, then people just accepted it as genetics and heritage and whatnot. It was easy to play the role of the center of attention, the goofball, the idiot--everything. But... what felt the worst was the knowledge that he... could play it all. And never, once, really feel like it was him. After a few moments of just sitting against the wall, Xevon finally moved on again. Making his way down to the carriage with that same silly smile etched in his eyes. |
