As she had been sedated to make sure her pain was handled, it took some time before she awoke. She groaned softly, wincing at the bright lights. Yet the presence beside her....She squeezed it gently to again make sure it was here.

Lucas smiled. "I'm here, little hero." He whispered to her when she squeezed him. "Don't move so much, you're still hurt." He said and gently pushed her back against the bed. "You feeling any better now?" He asked her as he moved the chair closer to her and gently brushed away the hair from her eyes.

She gazed over at him, a smile forming. *You actually stayed here.* She whispered softly. She rested her free hand over her side and groaned, *My body feels like I've been lying on thorns and ice, but I think I can feel stitches which is good.*

Lucas raised a brow. "Well, of course. I don't go back on my promises." He said and then lifted up a glass of wat and helped her sit up so she could drink it. "Drink." He said and placed the glass of water after he gently moved up her mask so she could drink without discomfort. "Don't move much. You'll pop out the stitches and that.. That wasn't a nice sight to see."

She did as told, supporting herself up on an elbow for comfort. She coughed a couple of times, yet the water soothed some of her aches. *Thank you nurse.* She chuckled softly. *Dong worry, I won't leap outta bed yet.*

Lucas smiled. "Hey, I've been here for a while as you were in pain." He said. "You could've broken my hand if you tried." He sighed. "And please don't jump out at me, either, if you do. They ended up having to heal me as well since someone had to claw me the entire run here." He cleared his throat and looked at her before placing the cup back on the nightstand table next to the bed.

She sighed and looked away. *I don't like hospitals. Bad memories, but I'm sorry for both situations.* As she hid her face, her hair fell across it and she sighed, *Damn, I don't even remember when I lost my hair tie.*

Lucas leaned closer to her as he moved her hands away from her head before he reached up and then did a quick braid in her hair instead of using a hairtie. "There. That should do before you get home." He said and stood up a bit too quickly before he grunted and hissed in pain as he shivered from instinct.

Lucas shook his head. "No, no! It's fine! I'm fine." He said and forced himself to stand up straight until he heard the door click open and the doctors walked up and he got told to sit back down, which he did before the doctors did a check up on her to make sure everything was good.
