Calliope had giggled at his playful threat, knowing now she'd have something good to tease him with. "Oh whatev-" she had began to respond when he mentioned knocking her on her ass, but it would seem that he'd succeeded. The moment he'd hooked her ankle she'd lost her footing, falling backwards. She hit the ground on her back, looking up at Calen with a surprised expression. He'd actually managed to do it.

Calen stared down at Calliope, still lying on the ground. She looked up at him with surprise, and the wicked smile returned. "Told you." Was all he said as he offered her a hand to help her up. His father had disappeared when he looked back up, as well as the few guards who had accompanied him. He was most definitely going to get punished for sparring with the princess in the first place, but he didn't exactly care, as they had both had fun. "Any other talents in weapons, Princess?" He asked when he tore his gaze from the window.

An evil thought crossed Calliope's mind as he'd offered a hand down to her. She did indeed take it, but not to get up. She yanked him down, using the gravity to get the upper hand. As she now gazed down at him on her knees, she smiled and nodded as she answered his question. "Indeed. You'll find that my archery skills greatly out weigh that of my swordsman ship," she replied, brushing some loose hair from her face.

Calen's eyes went wide when Calliope yanked down on his hand, pulling him down with impressive strength. He landed with a thud, twisting his face just in time to avoid breaking his nose. The breath whooshed from his lungs, and it took him a minute to catch his breath. He glared over at her, his gaze slightly amused. "I guess we're even now." He grumbled as he pushed himself up, his ribs aching slightly. "You might have be outmatched in that skill." He said as he sat up, taking out his hair and pulling it back again. "I never really liked archery, to much standing still."

Calliope truly hadn't meant to jank so hard, but it was nice to have succeeded as well. She grinned sheepishly as he'd said they were even while glaring. "To be fair, I did say I'd knock you on your ass as well. I never claimed it would be fair," she teased, giggling playfully. Calliope hummed as he said she'd likely have him beat. "My mother never liked me learning to fight with swords, so naturally my archery excelled greatly over my swordsman ship. I suppose she didn't mind it as much because it was less manly," she explained, standing up before offering her hand to Calen.

Calen snorted, "If we are being technical, you didnt knock me on my ass, you knocked me on my stomach." He said as he grabbed her hand, hoisting himself up. "You mother sounds like someone I would not get along with." He said as he walked over to where the bows and quivers were stored, grabbing one of each. The targets were set on the other side of the training area, the closest and biggest one being about ten feet away, the farthest and smallest being about 100 feet away. Calliope rolled her eyes playfully, deciding to let him have that one. After all, he wasn't wrong. "I highly doubt you would. She demands constant perfection and God forbid if I do anything but act like a little lady or have my own interests," she huffed, following in suit to where the bows were. She too grabbed one of each, eye the targets that were set up. She notched an arrow, drawing back the bow string once she had decided which one she wanted to hit first. Calliope went for a mid placed target, letting the arrow fly once pleased with her aim. It whizzed through the air, piercing the target with near to perfect accuracy. It was a tad high and offset to the left.

Calen took the target before Calliope's, readying and arrow before responding, "At least we have that in common." He said, realizing the arrow. It hit a few inches from the target, decent by his standards. He made a mental note to practice archery more, just in case it was ever needed. Calen glanced over at Calliope's arrow, seeing the near perfection of her shot. She was as good as she had said. "What about your father? What is he like?" He asked, trying to make idle conversation to avoid any awkward silence.

Calliope had begun readying another arrow as she answered his question. "He supports my wild side so to speak, but mostly because he wanted a son. He's a lot more lenient than her as well, but you won't catch him ever standing up to her decisions in raising me," she shook her head, the arrow hitting the next farthest target with a thud. It wasn't near as accurate, but still securely on the target. She'd taken a glance at the arrow he'd fired, realizing he wasn't a terrible shot, but for sure excelled elsewhere. "Your mom seems pleasant. Is that a front she's put up for me, or is she actually that sweet?" She asked, glancing to Calen.

Calen nodded at her words as he watched her fire another arrow. "She's not acting, she us kind to pretty much anybody. But she is terrifying when she is mad. I'd rather throw myself off a balcony than her yell at me." He said with a chuckle. Two of the guard entered the training room, it looked like they were here to train as well. They gave Calen and Calliope one look and retreated to the other side of the training room. Calen was tempted to spar with one of them, as he still had some pent up energy, but he decided to go with a dummy for today. "I'm going to practoce some more. Ill be over there if you need me." He said, gesturing towards the dummies.
