Sundew bit into her own part. Her eyes sparking with amusement " I've never seen someone so happy about a deer before. " she laughed

"I normally don't get snacks like this in the middle of the day!" I explained happily with food still in my mouth. "The only way to get food in between breakfast and dinner is if you catch it yourself or your mate does. Which for me is impossible, the occasional guard would pity me back in the brood chamber and give me some of their leftovers from the midday snack." I paused dealing I should probably explain. "Guards get snacks as the day progresses so they are always alert and not focused on anything else!"

"so How does all these ranks work...?" Sundew asked " there seems to be a lot going on. How do you keep track of it? "

"There are different sections! normally you don't travel outside your section without a purpose or you are summoned. I was moved here into the maternity section once I became a brood dragonet!"

Sundew blinked "so you aren't allowed to know about other sections?" She asked that was probably a bad question but this was entirely new to her.

"we are allowed to know, just we don't bother most of the time. Everyone minds their business. Guards will question someone going between sections but all you need is a reason, they aren't picky." I said trying to summarize it

"Well, ok." Sundew half shrugged by now finishing her part of the deer.

I continued happily eating savoring the food and keeping the eggs warm.
