Plot: The Laylani Pride has never known struggle. They have never had to try to survive. There was always enough prey, enough water, and everyone was on good terms. Even the lions and hyenas were being decent to each other. Life was all about eat, sleep, eat some more, sleep again, and hunt every now and then. That was, until things took a dark turn. - All the sudden, the prey vanished, the water dried up, tensions in the pride rose, and the hyenas have never been more hostile. No one knows what happened, or why it happened. It's in the middle of wet season, and there has been no rain in weeks. The lions of Laylani Pride are on edge, worried, and scared. They have never had to worry about survival before. But those are their instincts right? So they should be fine...right? - This RP is mostly based on the day to day life of the Laylani lions, they are trying to find out why everything is disapeering, but they are trying not to worry yet. When the RP starts, the prey and water are only just starting to vanish, but it will get worse as the rp goes on. |

Roleplay Rules: 1. Please be active. Roleplays like this are no fun if only two people are active. I expect at least 2 posts a week for each character. If you are going to be away from your device or have writer's block, please let me know, but if you don't post for a week without giving me a heads up, your character will be removed from the roleplay. 2. Hate the character, not the player. 3. This is a semi-literate roleplay, I expect at least 250+ words per post 4. This is a semi-realistic roleplay, so same gender couples are not allowed, and only male or female characters are allowed. 5. A max of 2-3 characters for now. If spots don't fill up quickly enough, you may be allowed more. 6. No Mary Sues, Gary Sues, god modding, etc. Your character isn't perfect. 7. Since this rp is more on the realistic side, i will have weight and height requirments that your character must meet. 8. I have the right to deny and application. You have 3 tries to get your application correct, after the 3rd time your character will be denied. 9. You can use stock or art images, but they must follow WP's rules, and all stock photos have to be from DA. Please credit properly. 10. Please don't roleplay with only one person. I don't want to see two characters taking up a whole page in the rp, include others. Also, if you have multiple characters, you are not allowed to have them to mates or parent-cub pairs, so that you aren't roleplaying with yourself. 11. You will have 24 hours to complete your character once you reserve it, I will give you one 12 hour extension if you ask, but after that it must be completed. 12. Applications must have at least 200 words, I will not accept one liners. |

Pride Rules: 1. Only the King has rights to the Queen, she is off limits to everyone else. 2. If cubs are sired by rouge males or males outside of the pride, they will be killed and the female will be exiled from the pride. 3. All male cubs that reach 2 years of age will be exiled from the pride, and will be treated like any other rouge. 4. Pride males can have relationships with any of the pride females as they please, as long as the lioness feels the same. The Queen is only avaible to the King. (might add more eventually, so check back here) |

Calisto | Male | King | Mentions: Open | A fly was buzzing around Calisto's ear, making it twitch. It kept twitching till he grunts and grumbles, stirring awake. "Aggh." he said in annoyance as he lifts his head up. Dirt and some dried twigs and leaves fell from his mane. Going from his side, he gets more into a laying position then grunts as he lifts up on onto his legs. Flexing his claws, Calisto looks closeby and saw his girl still somewhat asleep. Bowing down, he could feel his stiff muscles begin to loosen, and a couple bones cracked as he loosens up. Shaking out his pelt, he licks his jaws a couple times before moving forward. Leaving the shade tree, he blinks his eyes, adjusting to the hot African sun. Grumbling a little more, he yawns which a medium roar comes out. Feeling awake and alert, he takes a deep breath. Calisto lowers his head and moves through the grass and to the small watering hole nearby... - Walking through, many prey animals sense his presence and dart away. Looking down, he noticed something... The watering hole was getting smaller... If it got to low... he was worried he may need to rely on the hydration from larger prey... but no water, could be bad news for the pride as prey will leave to find water. He prayed rain would come soon... They already had to relocate due to a fire breaking out. The King looks up, then down as he takes a couple laps of water. |

Nyota | Queen | Mentions: Calisto (ind) Nyota shifted in her sleep, rolling so that she was lying on her side. She was awoken by an annoying stick that had somehow gotten into her nest. It jabbed her in the side, the sensation enough to wake her fully. She noticed that Calisto had already left, and she stretched out her front and back legs. ~ Nyota groaned as she walked into the hot morning sun. She hated dry season. It was nothing but misery. Low water levels, scarce Prey, grumpy lions, all things that added more stress onto her and Calisto's backs. ~ Most of the other pride members were still sleeping, so Nyota decides to seek out Calisto. There weren't many places he could be other than here, so Nyota decided to search the most obvious spot first, the watering hole. Nyota stalked silently through the dried, brown grass making her way to the watering hole. ~ When she came nearer to it, she spied Calisto's tan fur and walked up next to him, deliberately making her steps louder to let him know of her presence. The first thing she noticed when she stopped at his side was the watering hole. The water levels were low. Very low. It was rare for the levels to be so low this time of year. It seemed as if each year was getting hotter and hotter. ~ "The water levels are quite low. We'll have to be careful about rationing water until it rains." Nyota said, her voice laced with concern as she stared down into the watering hole. |

Zefira | Cub | Mentions: Calisto and Nyota - Zefira rolled onto her back, waving her paws in the air. Blinking sleepily, the morning light shining into her eyes, she turned over onto her stomach and looked around. Most over the other cubs were still asleep and so were some of the older pride members. ~ Zefira got up onto her paws and shook her fur, dust falling off her pale coat, then stretched her legs. Her stomach growled and she wondered whether there was any prey left from yesterday. She checked, only to find there wasn't much left. Hmm, I'll eat later when there's something fresh to eat. But she was thirsty too. The young cub has noticed that the watering hole seemed smaller then it was a few months ago. Zefira dismissed the thought. After all, she was pretty far from it, it was bound to look small. ~ With a yawn, the little cub thought about what she should do today. Explore further than the watering hole? Play with the other cubs? - when they woke up of course. Maybe she could finally join the older pride members when they went hunting! ~ Zefira glanced back at the other lions gently snoring. Then she noticed the King and Queen were gone. Maybe they went hunting. She noticed the Queen's tail just disappear from sight. A playful spark in her eyes, she quietly followed her. Zefira noticed the tail tip in the grass, twitching slightly. Waggling her bottom, she growled and pounced on the tail. "Got you!" |
