Borealis

Female Rider || Dragon: Xyron || M: (Dir) Xyron. (Ind) Clarabelle. Nuria.

~

Borealis was busy watching the dragons fly around. They all flew so different, some flew energetically and some flew like they were exhausted. They were all so different in looks, their many colors dotted to sky as they flew towards the valley in search of their rider. Some had wings, some didn't. Most of them flew, and a few didn't fly at all. It was strange how they could all look so different, even if they are the same class. At least, she thought it was strange. Then, she just nervously turned to look back at the ground.

As Borealis watched the sky, a female dragon suddenly began flying right towards them, though it seemed to be heading more towards Clara. She watched as the dragon came closer and closer, majestically flying over the crowd. She could hear the dragon's wings beating louder and louder the closer the dragon got. The dragon was shockingly beautiful, and amazing. Then, the dream dragon gracefully glided down, lowering herself to the ground before landing right in front of Clara. The dragon was absolutely amazing, having beautiful purplish eyes and feathers, plus her pearly white scales were gorgeous.

Then, Borealis heard more wingbeats, so she looked away from Clara and the dream dragon and turned to look at whatever dragon was flying. She didn't expect it, but the dragon was flying straight towards her. He was a very large golden dragon, whose scales shined as the morning sunlight glimmered off of them, causing him to look more like a glowy orb than a dragon. His graceful way of flight couldn't be on accident, that was something he definitely practiced, wasn't it?

Even though he was gorgeous, it didn't stop the growing panic inside her that only grew more the closer he got. He was gigantic, and could probably squash her very easily if he wanted to, or he could rip her in half, or he could just eat her whole, or he could drop her from the sky, and much more. The dragon was incredibly close now, and she could see his large eyes were crimson red. They match really well will his scale color! So cool! She thought energetically, even though her fear was still obvious.

Then, the giant dragon descended and landed on the ground right in front of her. His large paws had made a loud thumping sound, practically shaking the ground slightly. He folded his outstretched wings against his sides as he stared right at her, his eyes unmoving as he stared into hers. As he lowered his head down, her eyes followed him as he slowly lowered his head to her height. Then, he stared at her for a moment before snorting in her face. It was a very loud snort to her, but hopefully it was a friendly one.

The dragon did seem kind of friendly, and not like he wanted to rip her head off. Then, a voice sounded in her head. His voice was loud; booming like thunder. Then, she focused on the dragon, who seemed to be staring at her. Did- did the dragon do that? She froze for a second, staring at the dragon. Then, she felt a weak link snap between her and the dragon, like someone chained them together. "Hello Xyron. I'm Borealis!" She said in their connection with a cheerful tone, even though she looked nervous to everyone else.

K'issuk Ran
Water Dragon || Female || Mentions: Kaia, Aalis Soile, Nava
Indirectly Mentions: None

Already positioned on her feet, brimming with eagerness, she readied herself to set out and greet her old companions. The passage of time since their last encounter weighed heavily upon her. At last, she would be reunited with them once more. K'issuk would invite them into her home later, perhaps do some proper catching up, though she remained mindful of the potential fatigue from their journey.

Gaze directed onto Kaia, she gracefully lowered her form, facilitating his ascent onto her back. Once he was comfortably positioned, she cast her gaze downward, surveying the valley below. 'You worry for Sedna too much,' she observed, her voice gentle yet laced with reassurance. I suppose most siblings share that in common, but he will be alright. Trust him. He will learn. How much truth were in her words, even K'issuk couldn't tell, but she held firm in her belief that every individual would eventually discover their destined path.

Opening her wings lightly, K'issuk slithered to the precipice of the cliff. Her talons clung to the rocky surface, providing balance. With a measured motion, she propelled herself from the mountainside, allowing gravity to initiate her descent. As her wings unfurled to their full expanse, she transformed the descent into a soaring flight, gradually directing her course toward the valley below.

'Remind me, which one is Kenji?' She inquired, her gaze narrowing as she strained to catch sight of the young boy in question. Kenji, it appeared, had been a close companion of Sedna's before his relocation. 'Were you close with him as well?' Intrigued, her sinuous neck gently arched to the right, momentarily fixing her lone eye upon Kaia as she posed another question. 'That must have been difficult for Sedna. Perhaps they can reunite. Do you gather that this Kenji's return is a permanent arrangement?' Several questions continued to expell from K'issuk's mind as she continued to descend, curious about the topic.

Unlike the other dragons partaking in impressive displays upon their arrival, she chose not to showcase her skills extravagantly. Her moment arrived and passed, and she saw no reason to squander her energy. As far as she was concerned, she would land plainly, her main focus being upon Aalis, whom she wished to greet.

As they descended and touched the ground, K'issuk executed a gentle lowering of her form, her expansive wings producing substantial gusts of wind before elegantly folding back into place at her sides.

"Aalis," she addressed, her voice finally breaking the silence as she advanced toward the radiant dragon. "I'm truly elated to see you here! And Nava, as well. Please, do share, have you uncovered your bond?" The enthusiasm in her words was palpable, momentarily causing her to overlook Kaia, who still perched upon her back. A brief sense of self-censure washed over her. "How thoughtless of me. My mind seems to wander more these days. Kaia, allow me to introduce you to Aalis Soile, an old companion of mine."

Shiro Bozzeli

New Rider | M | Mentions: Beatrice, Keziah, Rhyhor, Kenji all [ind.] Tęgomir Venoušek

Shiro had literally watched Kenji drop to his knees and plead for thor younger sister Emi to cover for him at work that morning, his hands clasped together as he mustered his ‘puppy dog eyes’. Emi, of course, caved when he offered her a ride on the back of his dragon if he got picked, as well as some other favors Shiro couldn't quite overhear. Kenji was so horrible at lying, later that morning after he had seen the exchange, Kenji ‘so casually’ called that he was heading to work (his eyes were darting around and he kept playing with his hair) to the point where Shiro had asked him if there was a problem. Upon saying no he saw Kenji out of the house and quickly dashed upstairs and found a window, just to watch him run in the opposite direction of where he was supposed to be.

Shiro knew the choosing ceremony in Dragon Valley would be occurring today, so he hastily changed and followed after his twin. Kenji wasn't about to have all that fun without him. Shiro’s heart raced as he chased after Kenji, who had no idea he was being followed. The younger male had thought he had escaped successfully, but boy was he wrong. Whilst he was chasing his brother, the valley came into view, he could already see a dragon flying above, a large black figure against the sky, so he knew it would be starting soon. Pushing on at this pace was easy, Kenji and Shiro had been running buddies for years, so he could easily keep up with him.

Reaching Dragon Valley Shiro’s jaw dropped at the sheer number of people before him, head whipping around to view all the dragons already gathered. Oh great. In his distraction, he had lost Kenji to the crowd, probably off chasing Bea and Kez, though that didn't help as he didn't know where either of the girls were either. He decided to hang back by the more forested part of the valley, making himself unseen by most yet out of the way of all the traffic as well.

After waiting there for a moment, it didn't take Shiro long to locate his brother, as it seemed as if Kenji was being lifted into the air by a rather large dragon. A Storm dragon at that! Though how his brother had managed, he had no idea. Shiro was in awe as he looked up to see his brother Kenji throw his head back and groan. Clearly, he had spotted him, despite not hiding very well.

In response, he did a sheepish little wave before his mouth dropped open again at the site of a Lunar Dragon. Holy cats this was a lot for Shiro to process. A faint wail could be heard from overhead, but Shiro did not think anything of it. Dismissing it initially as some bird, but boy was he wrong. Suddenly a dark streak of dragon shot at him, it admitting some sort of noise or saying he could only describe as an ‘I found you’ before he was snatched and propelled into the air.

Shiro let out a mangled screech before he realized he wasn't falling, and was instead in the claws of an Air class dragon. A strange sort of feeling overtook the young man, a sort of ich in his brain that suddenly flared into an unmistakable wave of pain. His hands shot to his head, gripping its sides as the wave quickly passed. He felt exhausted and exhilarated all at the same time. “What on earth was that!” he exclaimed, unknowingly speaking it through the telepathic bond he had just formed with the dragon. “And who are you?!

Belvidere || Male || 71 || New Water Dragon || M: Kaisen, Arya (Ind), Desmodous (Ind)

Belvidere’s grin softens into something a bit more… friendly, pearly white teeth glinting in the sun. His eyes relaxing and shining with pride, the curtains finally lifting. He held pride for himself, but also for being able to seemingly impress his rider. Or for possibly managing to fix the misunderstanding. Either route was true. This was going swimmingly.

“What a lovely name! Quite fitting for a boy such as yourself. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Kai. I can tell we’re going to be a stupendous pair,” he lifts his tail fin up for him to shake, “Mind extending my greetings to your sister when you get the chance?” his voice lowers for a second, even if it was through the bond…, “A cute little thing she is, with all those freckles,” …before returning to its former volume, “Do not wish to interrupt her bonding time with that… dragon of hers. That’d only be rude,” his eyes flicker to the dragon in question before settling back on his rider.

After their much friendlier greeting, the coral coated dragon turns his attention back to his back, “And thank you. I take extra good care of them. They’re like little pets… that have a nasty habit of biting,” he gently rubs one of them as though he were petting a cat, “As for your astute observation, you’re not far off. They are indeed venomous, but they do not act like the spines of a lion fish. Rather, they act just like coral! They have cnidocytes in them. Better known as stinging cells. They mainly cause pain for all those stupid enough to attack me from behind. Though, they can be found along my paws and horns as well.”

The dragon’s eyes glance up to the boy’s face, searching for any sign of worry. “Do not worry about hurting yourself about them. They only sting when I will them to. Honestly, I should be the one worried about you accidentally breaking them while riding. But I doubt you’d do that, right darling?”

Rhyhor
Storm Dragon | New Dragon | Male | Mentions: Kenji, Keziah, Beatrice, Hakidonmuya
Indirectly Mentions: Shiro, Tęgomir Venoušek

The storm dragon looked down at his human, a mix of apprehension, curiosity and a strange wave of possessiveness washing over him. Yes, he certainly could have done worse with his bonded rider. While he wasn't pleased about being dragged across the world to spend the rest of this humans lifetime as a glorified pet, Rhyhor was certain he could have done a lot worse.

A hiss dragged his attention off of his rider, and his head lifted and snapped around, staring at a dark dragoness. His snarl was aggressive, rising in his throat as quickly as his breath could exhale, a light zapping of electricity crackling between his fangs. A brute, he thought, almost smug at her description of him. A brute indeed, I'll show you a-

Rhyhor's thoughts were firmly cut off as another sensation hit his side. Slowly, he began to angle his head downwards, and he could have laughed. In fact, the snarl dropped from his face, returning to a deep rumble in his chest, one that could be mistaken for a growl or a humored noise. The girl, one of the girls his rider had been protecting, had hit him with a stick. While it had broken apart, and she was truly foolish for doing such a thing, he could admire bravery in the face of what would have been certain death.

When his human seemed to catch up with what was happening, a loud word filled his mind. Rhyhor winced, although was unable to escape the sound, and gave a cut-off growl. At the humans next words through the bond, though, the dragon lifted his head and scanned the treeline. He spotted who his rider was talking about, a male that looked quite similar, and was already looking in their direction.

'I could kill him for you,' Rhyhor responded, an answer he believed to truly be helpful. 'But I may have to fight his feathery air dragon friend that's just grabbed him off the ground.' Electricity crackled between Rhyhor's teeth again as he opened his mouth slightly, looking back at his rider, as if proving that he could, in fact, shoot them out of the sky.

Rhyhor easily settled his weight on his wings, taking on the more wyvern-like appearance he tended to have, keeping his human clutched in the hold of his forelegs. 'Tell me, what is your name? And what is the same of your brave little friend?' Rhyhor asked, glancing over and seeing the girl talking with the stuck up lunar dragon. A bonded pair. Fantastic. Rhyhor would not enjoy the forced proximity with that dragon.

Sedna Nurul Seelen
New Rider | Male | Mentions: Neryth

Sedna flinched away from the sudden increase of noise all around the valley as dragons seemed to make a, strangely unanimous, decision to move and claim their riders. At the same time, he saw Kaia and K'issuk decide to take to the air, their shadow and flight joining the mess of reptilian bodies in the air. They seemed to be going over to another dragon, probably one K'issuk recognized, and Kaia joining along for the ride. His brother never could say no to his dragon.

That being said, the last thing Sedna expected was a dragon to land in front of him. He stood completely still, as if frozen, which was impossible given that this was a fire dragon. Which, he mused belatedly, was almost symbolic. He and Kaia were so opposite, that even their bonded dragons were complete opposites. Oh, the fates were having a laugh with this one, he was sure.

The physical contact with the dragon brought a sharp ache to his temple, thrumming a beat similar to his pulse for a few moments before fading. He winced, but didn't shy from it, blinking up at the female. He took a moment to process her words, spoken directly into his mind, before he answered.

'Sedna. Sedna Seelen,' he said into the bond, blinking up at her. 'And who are you?' He asked, eyes flicking over her body while also attempting to be aware of their surroundings. Not that there were many, given he'd been on the edge and people had stepped back further when the fire dragon had landed.

Suhail Toivo Terah Koskinen
New Rider | Male | Mentions: Aphra

Terah watched as many of the dragons seemed to leap into action. A storm dragon prowled through the crowd, snatching his human and getting in a minor verbal altercation with another dragon, a water dragon approached his human, another flew overhead, an air dragon grabbed a human and flew off, a fire dragon landed in front of another person- In shor, chaos had erupted in the span of a few minutes, and Toivo was glad to be on the edges of it all.

A low rumble and a barely audible murmur grabbed the ginger-haired boys attention, and he glanced over, blinking at the sight of a dragon. He had to admit, the dragon was beautiful, hues of dark greens and blues across its body. It was slender, more snake-like than some of the more brutish, heavy dragons, and Terah found himself standing very still as he waited to see who the dragon would choose. He wouldn't choose him, of course. Toivo wasn't here to be bonded, he was here to please his aunt.

Although, he belatedly noticed, he seemed to be the only one that didn't take a few steps away to clear the area around the dragon. He watched with stunned amazement as the reptile got closer and closer, until it reached out and touched his side. Immediately, he winced, a sharp pain forming at the base of his skull where his head met his spine, but it disappeared as quick as it arrived.

Terah was almost breathless when he heard the dragons voice in his head, his mouth hanging open in shock for a few moments before he shook his head and responded. 'I have a pretty long name, you can call me Terah or Toivo though,' he responded, swallowing and lifting a hand up. 'Is it.. alright if I touch you?' He asked, the jewelry on his fingers and wrists glittering as he moved his arm.

Kaia Seelen
Squad Leader | Male | Mentions: K'issuk, Aalis Soile, Nava
Indirectly Mentions: Keziah, Kenji, Rhyhor, Hakidonmuya, Beatrice

The man hummed in acknowledgement of the dragons words. 'Sometimes I feel I don't worry enough,' he said, glancing over and spotting a large fire dragon landing in front of his brother. He couldn't contain his groan, but it was quiet. 'Of course Sedna gets a fire dragon, you know their reputation, it's a perfect match,' he said softly, his voice and expression dropping to something fond as he regarded his brother.

'Kenji is an old friend, lived in our village when we were young. His twin brother, Shiro, spent time hanging out with me instead of Kenji and Sedna, said he was too mature to hang out with them,' Kaia responded to her question, chuckling. He had fond memories of Shiro trying to spend time with Kenji and Sedna and giving up because they apparently 'weren't mature enough'. It was fun times, truly. 'Maybe, I'm not quite sure where Kenji lives anymore, but,' Kaia paused, looking over, unable to stop his laugh. 'Yes, it seems it might be permanent, that big storm dragon looks like he's given Kenji quite a fright, but hasn't eaten him. I'm assuming they've bonded.'

Kaia smiled, closing his eyes after witnessing that, pleased with how the ceremony seemed to be going and enjoying the air flowing through his hair as K'issuk flew. When they'd first started, he'd been nervous to fly, scared of being too far off the ground. He wasn't used to it, far more used to being below sea level, swimming underwater. But he'd grown used to it over the years, finding the experience to be joyful and bonding.

Kaia opened his eyes when he felt them land, gently running his hands across K'issuk's scaled neck. The dragon in front of them was ivory in colour, a beautiful iridescent sheen across her entire body, and eyes that seemed to shift and change colour the longer he looked at her.

"Oh, K'issuk!" The pale female said, her voice joyful. "The Northern Lights mourn your absence, my friend," the light dragon said, leaning forward to gently touch noses with K'issuk. "Not quite yet, Nava has gone to visit the dragons, and you know how few strangers pass by our home. It's all quite exciting."

Kaia decided immediately that he liked Aalis. He would have always been pleasant, she was a friend of K'issuk's, but he decided then and there that he enjoyed her presence too. She seemed like a joy, the type to find the good in most situations.

When K'issuk introduced him, Kaia startled, almost forgetting he was there, and slipped off of the water dragons back. He stood beside her shoulder, bowing his head slightly to the light dragon. "It's lovely to meet you," he said politely, grinning when the dragoness practically crooned.

"Oh, isn't he just adorable!" Aalis said, reaching out to gently pat his hair. "A pleasure to meet K'issuk's cute little human boy."

Kaia laughed, nodding his head. "Yes ma'am, that's me," he said, his grin truthfully joyful and wide.

"Oh, and so polite too!" Aalis said, looking at K'issuk. "My friend, you have done well with this one."

Something seemed to change in the air, as Aalis suddenly straightened, looking in the direction of the large storm and lunar dragons. She made a hum, something Kaia could only call distressed or displeased.

"K'issuk, will you watch over Nava while I go and collect my human? I fear they may be in a.. bad position currently," she said softly, nodding in the direction that the pink dragoness had gone. "I'm sure she'll be fine on her own, but I'm afraid my nature has not let up since you've been gone. I only wish someone to be nearby to help should she need it."

The white dragoness barely waited for a response before walking quietly through the crowd, gingerly stepping over heads as she approached the two other dragons.

Aalis Soile
Light Dragon | New Dragon | Female | Mentions: Nava, K'issuk Ran, Kaia, Keziah
Indirectly Mentions: Kenji, Beatrice, Rhyhor, Hakidonmuya

The ivory dragoness watched K'issuk leap off of the mountain towards them, pure joy radiating in her heart. It visualized as a dull flash of light, her heart feeling so warm that she surely couldn't keep all of it to herself. Oh, K'issuk, her old friend!

When Nava mentioned going to talk to another dragon, Aalis nodded her head, returning the bump. "Remember to call for me if you need anything," she said, despite knowing Nava would never forget that Aalis would always be there for her, always be ready to leap into action to defend her little sister. There were few people Aalis was known to shed blood and draw blood for, Nava had always been one of them.

Her attention was stolen again when K'issuk landed, and Aalis leaned forward to gently touch noses with the water dragon. "Oh, K'issuk!" She said, practically overwhelmed with joy. "The Northern Lights mourn your absence, my friend," she said, and it was true. While the lights may not have 'talked' as such, she had felt it in the energy, felt it in the way the air moved and the lights breathed. They had missed K'issuk.

When K'issuk questioned the presence of a rider, Aalis shook her head. "Not quite yet, Nava has gone to visit the dragons, and you know how few strangers pass by our home. It's all quite exciting," she said, nodding towards the dragon Nava had gone off to meet.

When K'issuk introduced her rider, Aalis couldn't stop her gasp. He was so small! A tiny boy in a world of dragons. "Oh, isn't he just adorable!" She said, the compliment dripping easily from her tongue. "A pleasure to meet K'issuk's little human boy," she said, reaching out to pat the boy on the head, her claws sheathed.

"Yes ma'am, that's me," the boy said, and Aalis giggled lightly.

"Oh, and so polite too! My friend, you have done well with this one," Aalis said, withdrawing her paw from the boy and leaning back.

She was happy, overjoyed, to have her friend back in her life. It had only been six years, a smidge of time in the vast life of a dragon, but a chapter in which there was a hole in her heart regardless.

And then, the bond gave a sharp tug.

Aalis straightened, her head snapping around to face where the bond led her eyes, to a girl trapped between the large storm dragon and the large lunar dragon, both of which seemed to have bonded with people that may have been her friends. Bonding dragons could be territorial and possessive.

"K'issuk, will you watch over Nava while I go and collect my human? I fear they may be in a.. bad position currently," Aalis said, nodding to where Nava had gone, although seemed mildly distracted. "I'm sure she'll be fine on her own, but I'm afraid my nature has not let up since you've been gone. I only wish someone to be nearby to help should she need it."

Aalis stood and left without another word. Her steps were light, stepping over heads and into gaps between the crowd of humans. There seemed to be little room to push aside to make a path for her with the humans avoiding so many dragons already, and so Aalis crooned gentle pleasantries as she passed, attemtping to ease nerves.

The light dragoness moved to stand directly behind her human, sensing the tension between the storm and lunar dragon, and being unwilling to allow her human to get caught in the middle. The storm dragons eyes, a solid white-blue, transferred to her for a moment, but seemed to deem her as unthreatening as he looked away again.

Aalis was tense, ready to move between her human and either of the dragons if it came to it, but not wanting to frighten the already fearful girl with a sudden touch. She would wait for the girl to turn, and then would speak to her.

Aziza Sterling || Female || 18 || New Rider || M: Ra’d

Aziza stayed in that position for quite some time, simply allowing herself to relax (as much her mind would allow) to the touch and sound of the ongoing breeze. It was a beautiful day, after all. Maybe she should just enjoy it instead of dwelling on the inevitable?

Even if this is likely the last day I’ll be a part of the family…

Her now still mind neglected to take notice of the approaching thumps, much too focused on the serene sounds of her surroundings to bother doing so. But the loud rumbling certainly did, shattering the stillness of her surroundings and sending the birds flying off in scattered terror – their love songs sliced clean through. The girl herself follows their startled motions, nearly jumping out of her own skin. Confused and slightly frightened by the sudden disturbance, her head snaps up to its source.

… She could practically feel the sweat drop running down the back of her skull at the size of the beast before her. Before the “noble” lady stood a dragon much larger than herself, toned with more muscles thicker than the mountains surrounding them. Adorning his body were fins and frills, all laced with long and sharp spines that she wanted no part in touching. Let alone being near. And his growl of a greeting didn’t exactly dull that sentiment. His eyes – a stunning shade of cyan – stared down at her, almost judging her very existence like she was a puny ant. Then again, she may as well have been with their size difference.

The young girl barely had time to register the dragon’s voice thundering through her mind as a sudden wave of pain rocked her body, causing her to grasp her chest tightly with her hand. Her book falls onto the earth, forgotten in the odd and unnerving situation at hand. She had never felt anything like this before. The only way to describe it was like a surge of electricity flushing through her body, flooding her blood with its heated venom. But, in the next moment, it was gone – as though it had never existed.

She takes a moment or two in order to collect herself, stilling her slightly gasping breath and rapid heartbeat. Her pale gold eyes never leave him, continuing to study and stare as the time flows on. But, not for much longer.

After finally calming herself down, Azzy notices her startled staring – blush rushing to her cheek at the realization that she had been doing so for a prolonged amount of time. And without answering him as well. Turning her head from his direction, she coughs into her hand and stands (still forgetting the novel that now laid open on the dirty ground – its pages likely now permanently stained a shade of wet brown from its time out of her hands).

Looking towards him, her blush having died away, her pale eyes meet his own cyan ones – offering him a formal bow before straightening out again. Her silver chained necklace bounced against her as it settled once more while her golden earrings clink against their own metal forms.

“I… apologize for my staring, sir. It was rude of me to do so. I just…,” she lets out an exacerbated chuckle, running a hand through her rich brown hair, “wasn’t expecting to actually get a dragon of my own.”

Thinking back on his earlier words and motion (somehow still fresh in her mind after that strange painful experience), she glances downwards. She spots its dark blue cover instant, the gold embroidered works now having specs of decomposing leafage in its formally pristine image. Her naturally frowning lips turn down further at the sight, scooping the article up swiftly so as to not cause any more damage than she already had. This was an interesting story, after all. She couldn’t bear to lose it after such careless actions.

“Oh, that. I was just… trying to get my mind off a few things,” she brushes off the pages as best she could, hoping to get some of the dirt off the printed words, “But, they don’t seem to be much of a worry now.”

Pale gold meets striking cyan once more as the short gal looks his way once more. Teachings from her earlier years kick in instantly, spurring her to extend a hand to… initiate a sort of touch? She honestly didn’t know how he’d react to this.

“I’m Aziza. Aziza Sterling. Who may you be?”
