Pierce only smelled the herbs and something like......smoke? I almost smelled like singed fur. Then he realized the branch might have been struck by an earlier storm when it fell. But that didn't explain the smoke..... He suddenly started breathing in short, shallow breaths. At least He was breathing!

"Yes I did but it's gone now." Ember stumbled into the medic den she must have hurt her paw but she wanted to see Pierce, she went up to him he looked so hurt he might not be hunting for a while. "Pierce are you ok? Did...Did you hear or see anything before the branch fell?"

She quickly followed Rowan to their den. Her daughter said something about a two-legged creature. Humans. Just like the ones that had those viscous dogs that had scratched my eye. Maybe they were the ones that broke the branch to fall on Pierce. "Humans. She saw humans." She snarled the word.

Pierce thought he heard Ember talking to him. He wanted to talk back to her, to reassure her. But it took all of his strength to even open his eyes to look at her as she looked at him. Then, he smiled at her.

"Yes fucking humans I hate the, for what they did to you my love but we have to leave if they have those vicious things called dogs we will not survive you were one of the lucky ones on that hunting trip. Those humans hurt my mate and I want them to die but I can't if they have the dogs they are to strong.

"There is the valley where the Elk live. I remember when you and I went over that way and I think we saw some nice caves and dens."
