Eh, if anything you can give them a tragic backstory about their creation, maybe they got high on shrooms in the dark of the night, stumbled across each other and got the munchies xD or the grandfather never got to meet his granddaughter and therefore never knew it was her

Adramelech
New Dragon | Male | Fire Dragon | Mentions: Humans, Dragons, Those in the Valley

Brightly colored eyes opened as the sounds of the valley seemed to increase tenfold. He knew it would happen eventually, but it irritated the male nonetheless. Did everything have to be so loud and intrusive? The side of his upper lift twitched to reveal a fang in a half snarl as his claws dug into the charred earth beneath him.

Freeing his wings from being locked to the ground, Adramelech pushed to his haunches with a low, rumbling sound. Displeasure was clear in everything the male did, from the way his moved, the glimmer in his eye, and even the expression on his face. He grunted as he shifted his weight, and pulled his wings against his sides. He was paying no mind to anything near him, but instead focusing on the tug on his chest, trying to determine where it was coming from, when the subtle sound of a group of humans approaching pulled his attention.

It was a group of about 5 humans, they seemed smug and... proud? Foolish really, as they approached him. They all stood there and admired him, from what he could tell of their murmurings to one another. He found it incredibly rude.

Rising to his feet in a slow motion, the male swung his tail to and fro a bit, before, without warning, swung it full speed at the humans. Their shrill shrieks of fear and surprise filled him with a sick joy as he felt fragile bodies cave beneath the force of his tail, flattening them to the ground. Would they die? Unlikely, but maybe if he was lucky, but they'd be bruised, maybe with some broken bones, especially ribs. He listened to them groan as they writhed on the ground and he turned, growling at them lowly as he jaws slightly parted. Fire churned low in his throat as he contemplated roasting the group where they writhed, ridding the world of their nuisance.

"Consider yourself lucky," he hissed as he stepped through them, not paying any mind his his feet landed on any of their limbs. Though, judging by a painful howl, he figured he'd stepped on at least one.

Approaching the main crowd of riders, and looked over them briefly. The tug in his chest lead him in this general direction, but since he wasn't focusing on it entirely, it wasn't giving him the specific direction of his would-be rider. So, instead, he stood in front of the mass of now fearful humans. He observed their faces, taking in the fright and terror reflecting in their features as they looked back at them. Would his own rider share the same look?

Amhuluk

| Water Dragon | Male | New Dragon | Mentions: Marina, Coyolxauhqui (dir)

Amhuluk visibly relaxed as his rider’s beautiful eyes shot open, gasping for breath. He hummed softly, watching the fury spark back into her gaze. There was something deeply satisfying about seeing her defiance, her spirit unbroken despite the ordeal. It confirmed what he already knew—this human was strong, resilient, and perfectly matched to him.

“My rider is strong,” he murmured approvingly, lowering his face closer to hers. Before he could say more, a dragoness rudely interrupted the pair. By the audacity—and human scent—she radiated, he assumed she must be a bonded high-ranking dragon. Amhuluk felt a bubble of amusement in his chest as she spat her fury at him. However, he was not intimidated by her growling or anger—he had dealt with far worse. It wasn’t until the crass dragoness stepped between them and snatched his rider away that he felt a small twinge of annoyance, though his face remained impassive and unimpressed.

He watched his rider in the dragoness’s tail with a disinterested expression, but through their bond, he spoke to the young woman, “Make no mistake—you are mine.” His voice was filled with a possessive intensity that did not match his facial reactions. He knew how to play his cards; he knew this dragoness would not actually keep his rider, and he knew his rider would soon be by his side. No one would ever come between a dragon and their rider—though it seemed this dragoness did not get the message. Everyone, including Amhuluk, knew dragons would - and could - test their riders, first flight or not. He’d heard the rumors of dragons killing their riders at first glance. He was merely...testing the waters with his own.

Amhuluk stared at the ill-mannered dragoness as she placed as much venom in her words as possible. He briefly studied the dragoness with detached interest, noting her aggressive posture and sharp tone. He let her lecture him though, his eyes glazing over in boredom as she continued her scolding. Truthfully, his thoughts kept drifting back to the woman he had dragged from the water—the way she fought and maintained her composure made him oddly proud.

As the dragoness droned on, he could feel the bond between him and his rider pulse like a heartbeat, a constant reminder of the new connection they shared. Finally, after what felt like ages, the lecture came to an end, and Amhuluk's apathy resurfaced once more.

He could feel his rider's emotions clearly— confusion mixed with determination. But what made him pause was the anger and annoyance that radiated from her through their bond. It wasn’t directed toward him; rather, it was aimed at the dragoness who had stolen her. Amhuluk felt a rush of satisfaction and had to bite back a laugh at his ferocious, dare he say protective, rider. This pleased him greatly, knowing she was already looking out for him—just as he was for her.

"If you are done, I would like my rider back,” he paused, a wicked expression flitting into his cold eyes, “And judging by her feelings, she would like to return to me as well.” He sighed deeply, as though the situation weighed heavily on him, trying his best to keep his tone nonchalant, though a note of smugness crept in despite his efforts.

Kayne D'Angelo/ Male/ 18/ New rider/ mentions: The dragons (indirectly), Avery (indirectly), Marina (directly), Adramelech

Kayne had finally psyched himself up enough to actually go and talk to Solstrale about supplementing scouting the border with riders when the dragons began their bonding. And with all the deafening screeching, roaring, and hissing going on, Kayne definitely thought it wise not to get between any dragons and their fated riders. Kayne looked at the squirrel above him, still insistent Kayne leave its tree alone. “Not going out there. I think I’ll choose life.” He leaned back against the trunk, hoping it was all over soon so that he could go back to the stables and hang out with Nyx. Horses were nice creatures. They never ate anyone.

He winced as a light dragon chose its person, glowing so brightly it blinded him for a few seconds. Suddenly, in stark contrast, an eerie darkness fell over the entire clearing as a creepy dragon that literally ebbed with shadows appeared and made its own choice of a rider, not far from where he stood. The dragoness’ body posture and presence told Kayne that it did not appreciate anyone else around, at all, even though crowds of people didn’t seem to be heeding her hisses of warnings.

I think now is a good time to go talk to Solstrale. Kayne thought and crept carefully away from the presence of the dark dragoness.

He went the long way, around the edges of the crowds, away from the dragons and most of the people. He saw a girl, that brave but fidgety one from earlier, walking towards the edge of the small lake near the clearing and began edging closer to the shore. She had the right idea, for there were far fewer people here.

He located Solstrale in the crowd, but he would take an awful lot of work to weave back through all the people and irritable beasts. Should he just keep waiting? Or just go and not worry about it? Sometimes a guy’s got to do what a guy’s got to do, even if that means wading through a sea full of people (which Kayne didn’t like), to talk to someone (who probably didn’t like him), and ask for a favor (which he didn’t like doing). Alright, alright, he’d go.

A sudden movement in the corner of his eye jerked his attention back to the lakeside. A huge dragon erupted from underwater and sank its fangs into the girl’s clothing, dragging her back under with it before Kayne could even react.

The pounding in his chest increased dramatically. Should he save her? Could he save her? No. It was impossible. Even if the dragon had let go of her, and she was still alive by some miracle, it wouldn’t suffer him going down there. And besides, swimming had never been his strongest skill- there was no chance he could swim well enough to save the girl and keep the dragon at bay.

But I can’t just leave her to die! He took a step towards the lake.

No. I’d die as soon as I plunge in.

There was nothing he could do for her except hope she would make it.

He watched for what seemed like an eternity before the dragon finally broke the surface with the girl in its claws. Once on land, she coughed the water out of her lungs and took in deep breaths of air. Kayne let out a breath of relief he didn’t know he had been holding. As much as he hated people in general, he didn’t want to see anyone get hurt. It was part of his duty as a ranger to protect the people, however indirectly he often chose to do it.

The water dragon seemed strangely satisfied with the girl, and Kayne could only assume he was testing her. Now it looked like he would choose her. Still, what if the girl had been injured? Sure, the dragon probably wouldn’t kill her now, but she could be bleeding somewhere, broken a limb, either of which would be detrimental when she would have to complete the challenge of the first flight. Kayne had bandages and could make a splint if she needed a leg or arm stabilized.

A female dragon suddenly thrust itself between the dragon and its new rider, cooing at the girl (who didn’t really seem like she appreciated it), and then turned and started lecturing the massive male, who Kayne figured would likely crush her in a fight. Kayne seized the opportunity to sneak over and check on the girl, now that her murder lizard was distracted. He stalked up behind, glad he could move silently, and tapped her lightly on the shoulder.

“Hey, you okay?” He said, his voice low but strong. “Not hurt anywhere?” He didn’t want to invade her space if she didn’t want his help, but he figured since he couldn’t save her earlier, it was the least he could do to offer to patch her up. She was soaked, and as strong as she was, when she had to go fly, she would soon freeze in the cold air up there if she didn’t have something dry on. He slipped his cloak off and put it in her hands. “At least take this.”

As he did so, he heard someone scream.

He spun around away from the girl to face the threat, and saw the grumpy fire dragon from before finally making his way through the crowd. And make his way he did, clearing a path by knocking the people out of the way, ouch, stepping on one of them. Kayne suddenly wanted very much to go back to his nice oak tree. The beast of smoke and flame stomped closer, his massive frame shaking the ground with each step as he surveyed the crowd with disdain.

Suddenly, he locked eyes with Kayne. Either by accident or on purpose, the dragon had seen him now.

He wanted to look away, maybe the dragon would just walk right past, yet something told him not to. The dragon would see it as a weakness and might just kill him for that reason alone. No. He would not look away. He would not back down. Hopefully the girl behind him would have enough sense, and strength, to move out of the way and her dragon would probably protect her anyway, but Kayne would not move. If he was going to die today, he would die with his pride. No dragon would take that from him.

Marina West
New Rider | Female | 17 | Mentions: Amhuluk (dir), Coyolxauhqui (dir), Kayne (dir)
Marina was shocked to say the least when another huge dragon stormed over, growling at her dragon. She then realized she still hadn't learned it's name.
A flash of anger flickered in her chest as the dragon stepped between her and her own dragon. She was confused when the dragon wrapped her tail around her, dragging her farther away from her dragon. She couldn't decide if she liked the phrase "her dragon" or not.
She was even more confused when the dragon started speaking to her, softly. Something about the tone unnerved her. She was speaking to her like she was a weak creature in need of protecting.
Her anger bubbled up as the dragoness started scolding her dragon. She wasn't sure why she was angry, as she was angry at them too, but an undeniable anger coursed through her.
She turned her head as something, or someone, tapped on her shoulder. She saw a boy with dark hair and icy blue eyes. She nodded as he asked if she was okay, trying to convince herself of the same thing. She was confused why this dragon was yelling at her own, since she had heard of dragons testing their riders even before the first ride. She tried to return the cloak to the boy, but he was off before she could express her thanks. She wrung out her shirt sleeves and the hem of her shirt, then quickly flung the cloak around her shoulders and pulled it around herself.
She nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard words. In her head. She looked up at her dragon and read its neutral expression. The voice was deep, and male. She remembered reading something about dragons being able to converse with their riders through their bond, and she assumed that's what it was. His voice was territorial, a complete opposite from his expression. His voice sent shivers down her spine.
Marina squirmed and tried to escape the dragon's grasp but soon deemed it useless. She waited for the dragon to finish her tangent and then spoke.
"Stop shouting at him. I'm alive. I'm fine. A little wet, but I'm alive." She said to the dragoness, her expression determined. She knew one thing, the only person that got to yell at her dragon was her. And she planned on doing that after this little encounter.
Marina looked up at him again as he spoke, demanding her back. She didn't want to be handed over like a trophy. She took it upon herself to wiggle out of the dragoness's grip, nearly falling on her face as she did. Her clothes still clung to her and her hair hung limp around her face, the ends still dripping water.
When she finally escaped the dragon's hold, she walked calmly over to her dragon's side, standing near his front left foot-paw-or whatever it was.
She was tired of not knowing his name, so she started searching for that line of communication. After a little bit, she managed to find it and spoke down the bond.
"What is your name?" She asked, not looking up at him.

Aziza Sterling || Female || 18 || New Rider || M: Finn, Tatsuo, Mattis (Ind), Koji (Ind)

Golden eyes glance back to the boy in question, meeting his blue orbs with a slight look of surprise – some lingering blush coating her cheeks. She had just walked into him, and his first response was to gleefully ask how she had been? To comment on how he wished to convince her into coming? Then again, she should have expected nothing less from the ball of radiated sunshine before her. It wasn’t “his style” to respond in the way most nobles did – something she was still not accustomed to after all this time. Though, the wink did still manage to take her slightly off guard.

“I’m fine,” she averts her gaze once more,” just… stressed about this whole situation. And besides, you know my family wouldn’t dare let me miss this,” an empty chuckle leaves her at the end of her statement, eyes moving to look back towards the taller boy.

A soft smile graces her at the acceptance of her apology, but is quickly covered by both her hands as she begins to laugh softly at the jab sent towards his friends (whom she had not taken notice of before) immediately after. Stilling her slight case of amusement, she drops her hands from her face – her smile being a smidge wider than its previous iteration. Leaning to the side of the blonde locked acquaintance, she attempts to sneak a better glance at these friends of his. Her mouth opens in preparation for a question, a simple “and who may these friends of yours be,” but closes at his own.

“Is that all your family? I knew you mentioned them but…”

The brown haired girl shifts to look behind her shoulder, right where the adrenaline junkie’s attention now resided. Sure enough, there her family stood – still as chaotic as they had been when she left. And it seemed her glance back to them had not gone unnoticed, with one of her more excitable younger cousins quickly notifying the rest of the group of her attention. Energetic waves and thumbs up were quick to sprout up amongst them, with all but the twins joining in. She rolls her eyes at their antics… Though, she couldn’t help but notice the confused look shared between her parents during the midst of it. She had a feeling what the reasoning was, but she made sure not to dwell on it at the moment.

Turning her back toward her friend, she responds, “Yes, that would be-”

A flash. The world around her shifted before her very eyes in an instant, a blank canvas of… something now encompassing her view. Aziza jumps back with a partially strangled gasp, eyes blow wide in surprise and fright. A surge of warmth and weightlessness suddenly bursts to light in her very veins, burning through all of her senses while enhancing that of her sight. The wall of white became blinding to her eyes, as though she were staring into the sun itself. Her eyes ached at the rise in brightness… but as soon as the feel had reared its ugly head, it had dissipated.

The girl’s head swings around wildly, searching for the source of this until she freezes. A voice boomed through her mind, as disorienting as the sensation from before. Could… could that be…?

Spinning on her heel, she comes face to face with a dragon – leaving her completely stunned. Her slender face presented tell-tale signs of battle (something which caused her heart to twinge in concern despite their age), with a “marked” eye and busted lip. White eyes all but peered into the small human’s soul, leaving a shudder to run the course of her spine. Equally as white scales, if not a brighter white, lined her entire body. They were as bright as a sun-kissed pile of snow, glimmering under the day’s light in a blinding yet mesmerizing way.

It takes a few seconds for her brain to catch up to the words uttered by this beast just moments before, the very sight of her having been a bit too overwhelming for the petite lady to comprehend the prior statement.

Her voice comes out in a hushed whisper, even for her, being incapable of properly functioning with the present moment. “I-I’m sorry, I… I’m what?”

Finnegan Aleister | New Rider | Male | 18 years | Mentions: Koji, Aziza, Aýnabat (ind.), Zadok (ind.), and Thalassia

Finn gazed down on Aziza and he wondered if he needed to back off. She always seemed a bit uncomfortable around him, but he wanted her to see his best self. His fun self. Alright, maybe he'd need to back off his boneheadedness if he truly wanted to impress her, but he didn't want her to think he was sad and boring. He chuckled with her as was expected. "Sorry about the pressure. Aren't you excited at the possibility though?" He looked behind him at his bros. "Oh that's Koji and that's Mattis. They're the same height and they like to make everyone think I'm short. I'm not short...Really, I'm just not as tall as them," he complained shaking his head. When she glanced back at her family, he took the extra attention all in a stride. He grinned an easy smile and he waved. "They look really fun." The look exchanged between the parents went right over his head. Not the type of thing he kept an eye out for or noticed.

~~~
Finn started up at Thalassia through her puffs of smoke admiring her and observing the details of her appearance. Suddenly, his legs were swept out from under him, and he was trapped under her talons. He didn't have much room to wiggle pinned as he was by his dragon. He knew that dragons were not pets, but he hadn't expected to be treated like a toy. Clearly, he was going to have to readjust his expectations for what bonding a dragon was like, but at least it meant a new adventure. He winced and closed his eyes when she roared at him. Really, she seemed quite bad tempered. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to be submissive or fight, so he continued to lay their like a vegetable. He squeezed his eyes shut as he felt an odd pressure in his mind and then a pop. Was that what a bonding felt like? Was that it? His head ached a bit, but it was bearable after the apex.
His eyes widened a bit as she answered him mentally. He had. Bonded. A dragon. Thalassia, he repeated to himself. Finn smiled and was about to go on a whole tangent about how his name was Finnegan Aleister, but he preferred to be called Finn. He opened his mouth and thought better of it. Who knew how short tempered she would be or if she considered it all silliness.
You can call me Finn.
He was quite curious watching her hiss at everyone else. This was going to be something they were going to have to work on. Neither one of them was going to be living in isolation for the rest of their lives. He peered around curious about the other dragon that remained close by with Koji. He wondered what made that dragon so special, but he was glad that it seemed Koji would be on the list of the approved. He was quite curious as her attention was drawn away from him to a dragon. One of the mentor's dragons. Wait, that was Mattis' dragon. Cool. Thalassssia, he said in his mind with an extra sss sound seemed okay with Mattis' dragon as well as Koji's. Maybe their friendship and desire to bond a dragon was working in their favor after all.
"Mattis," he hissed. "I can talk to Thalassia. What do I do now? What comes next?" He'd really like to talk to Koji as well and bond over their shared experience but after seeing Thalassia hiss at people, he didn't want to take any chances. "Mattis, isn't that your dragon interacting with my dragon?"
Koji Tveit
New Rider | Male | 18 years | Mentions: Aýnabat, Mattis, Finn, Aziza [ind.], Avery [ind.]
Koji returned to wave to Avery before he saw his friend get approached by another mentor, he quickly pivoted away as the two began what seemed to be a sort of an argument. He could talk to his friend later, that was not something that looked like he should be interrupting.
Despite Koji’s confident look and swagger, he was a bit nervous when it came to this dragon business. They fascinated him, but as he watched a dragon attempt to kill their rider, he started to become a bit nervous. Despite this, those feelings were squashed when he noticed Mattis jogging over towards them.
“About time Matty!” he called in greeting, as his friend crushed him and Finn into a bear hug. “Yeah, where is your impressive Psyche dragon you somehow managed to tie yourself to?” he spoke, echoing Finn’s words. When Koji had learned his friend had bonded not too long ago, he had been in utter disbelief at the rare dragon that had chosen Mattis as his rider. But Koji had never met the dragon, only hearing his friend's stories about him. As Finn retold his heroic story of how he managed to sneak out of the house, he found himself grinning proudly, flashing his arms to show Mattis the damage he had done.
Koji turned from his friends momentarily, looking around the valley. Even through the chaos of Dragon Valley, Koji managed to spy a few others he knew, all of them here for the same reason he was. To bond. He heard Finn speaking behind him and saw him reaching out to Aziza. The girl was his age, a long-time family friend, and basically a sister to him. He turned back to greet her when the pair were cut off, a glaring shield of light encasing Az around her and a dragon. A smile stretched across his face, her family would be proud to see her bonding
As dragons seemed to crawl from the area, many riders began to match up with them. It was at that moment when he noticed one approach him. The creature seemed to shimmer, the dragon's coat a pretty sort of blue. He could only stand mesmerized as she approached, her presence radiating power, commanding respect. Yet he also felt strangely calm. The dragons emitted a low pur, seemingly glowing. The noise caused something in his chest to twist, and Koji felt himself reaching a hand up towards his heart.
“You, my dear one, are my chosen
The young man gazed up, stunned at the creature before him. He hardly felt her tail wrap around him, but once it did the tightness in his chest eased. The sudden release caused him to blow out a breath he didn't know he had been holding. He had bonded.
Mattis
| Mentor | Male | 20 years old | Mentions: Zadok, Koji, Finn (Dir). Thalassia, Aýnabat (Ind)
Mattis rolled his eyes jokingly as he listened to Finn’s lecture, his hand rubbing across his face in mock exasperation. Despite Finn’s scolding, Mattis couldn’t help but smile. He was so happy that his brothers were here.
“Listen, I get lectured basically every day here by Max—I don’t need it from you too,” he groaned, a playful smile tugging at his lips. He draped his arms around Finn and Koji, so for a moment he was in the middle of the two with his arms over their shoulders.
“Truly, I’m so glad you both are here! It was lonely here without my brothers. I wouldn’t miss this for the world. I know you two will bond,” he paused, squeezing their shoulders before a wicked grin overcame him, “and I’m sure you boys will like being under my command!” His laughter was lost among the roars and growls surrounding him, the dragons’ voices blending into a symphony of power and presence.
Mattis grinned widely as he listened to his friends' tale of their adventure, moving to be in front of them again to see Koji’s scratched arms.
“Well, we all know Koji’s strength isn’t climbing,” Mattis said, shaking his head, his golden hair falling into his eyes for a moment. He brushed it back with a casual flick of his hand, his gaze sweeping the bustling valley.
At the mention of his dragon, he stepped away from the boys and looked around—his eyes falling on a cliff where Zadok rested with the other two mentor dragons. The sight was majestic, the dragons’ scales glistening in the sunlight. Zadok's imposing presence and muscular build was hard to ignore. He stuck out like a sore thumb beside the other two, his smokey black scales and golden highlights shimmering with an aura of raw power. Zadok's wings stretched wide behind him, their golden membranes shimmering in the sunlight, “He is, he’s just away from the crowd,” Mattis said, lifting a hand to point in the Psyche dragon’s direction.
As the words left his lips, a glint of light caught his attention, and he felt Finn’s elbow nudging his side. Nodding in acknowledgment, Mattis watched as the girl Finn had spoken with briefly bonded with a dragon. Just as he was about to explain, a Lunar dragoness approached, and Mattis tensed, meeting her eerie teal eyes. She passed over him and Finn before settling her gaze on Koji, her tail wrapping around him in a gentle manner. Mattis started to raise his hand to guide Finn back but dropped it abruptly as a Dark dragoness stalked toward them, her displeasure evident as she hissed at nearby dragons, except for the Lunar beside her.
Both boys seemed awestruck but unharmed, much like Mattis had been when Zadok first bonded with him. The Dark dragoness was more assertive in her approach, yet Finn remained unscathed. Koji, on the other hand, appeared entranced by the Lunar’s presence. He heard a deafening roar, his hands coming up to shield his ears. He turned to see a Water dragon that had attempted to drown its rider. Shit, his eyes followed the squad-leader’s dragoness that intervened.
Sensing a presence beside him, Mattis turned and accidentally tripped over a dragon tail lying on the ground. Mattis found Zadok’s eyes, his golden crown that wrapped around his horns was almost blinding in the sun. “Good timing, Z,” he muttered as he stood, brushing himself off. Zadok emitted a friendly growl toward the Dark Dragoness, and Mattis gave him a puzzled look. “Do you know her?” he mentally questioned through their bond. “She won’t eat Finn, will she?"
Returning his attention to Finn’s voice, Mattis smirked faintly and moved closer to Zadok, allowing space for the two men and their dragonesses. “You two will be getting acquainted before the First Flight,'' he spoke softly, glancing back at Zadok, who had a golden grin on his face before focusing back on Finn. "Seems like they are," His voice trailed off as he tried to piece the connection together.
Paxon Nethersoul
New Rider | Male | 17 Years | Mentions: Caelestis, Savo'alath
Trying to turn his attention directly onto one things was proving quite hard for the young man. His eyes kept roving the valley, jumping from dragon to dragon, and the situation to situation as more entered the valley, and several went forth to choose their riders. There even seemed to be some animosity going on, though it was far from where he sat perched in his tree.
His attention was pulled slightly behind him and to his right when he heard the sounds of what he thought were two dragons. They seemed displeased with one another, though he couldn't see anything, and he thought based on the tonal undertone that whatever was going on might come to blow.
Unfortunately for Paxon, he wouldn't have the chance to really find out. Fore, as he leaned back to try and get a better look under the canopy, something swooped from overhead. He had to imagine this is what it must have felt like to be a mouse set upon by a hawk. And it was as terrifying as he thought it might have been.
The great beast tore past the tree he sat in faster than Paxon ever thought possible for any creature, causing the entire tree to groan under pressue and jolt slowly but suddenly to the side. The branch he sat on creaked loudly, and had he mean perched on it straight, he could have grabbed the trunk of the tree and held on. However, in his state of being leaned back, almost completely having his chest horizontal, the movement upended him and sent him floundering through the air and down towards this earth.
This... This was going to be how he died. Falling out of a tree, at a Dragon Bonding Ceremony he likely had no business being at. His closed his eyes and clamped his mouth shut, because the last thing he wanted was to scream bloody murder and drag attention onto himself. Let him die quietly and shamefully unnoticed, rather than humiliating him by people watching him plummut out of a tree to his death. But, then again, at least he would be dead and wouldn't know.
Adramelech
New Dragon | Male | Fire Dragon | Mentions: Kayne
Blue eyes roved the valley like wild fire, seeking out the one who he would claim for his own. It was when his attention was pulled to the side, the commotion involving the water dragon grasping his attention for a second. However, it wasn't what kept his attention.
His gaze examined each of them quietly, first the two dragons that seemed to be at odds, one holding herself like she was of some authority, while the other seemed more unbothered or mildly irritated. Then came the humans near by. First was the soaked girl, this one, he assumed, was the water dragon's rider. He wasn't sure what the purpose had been of soaking her, but water dragons were weird, unfathomable beasts.
Lastly, there was the boy. A more rugged looking individual, he seemed to have offered his cloak to the soaked girl, before turning his own attention onto Adramelech. And then just stared up at him, seemingly squaring his jaw at him.
How... odd.
Smoke billowed out of his nose as the tug in his chest pulsed, and he lowered his head a fraction, looming over the human male. Was this his rider? He cocked his head to the right, and then reached out, snagging a talon up through his shirt and yanking him forward, careful not to rip the shirt. He lowered his snout a fraction more and sniffed at the male, before lifting his other front talon and tapping him on the forehead gently. Immediately he felt the snap of their bond fall into place.
"You," reptillian baritone vocals rumbled out, and he turned suddenly, pulling the boy into the air and away from the pair of dragons. He clutched the young man in his fore claws, moving back to his charred spot and sat down, shooing a struggling wounded away that hadn't left fast enough.
Sitting on his haunches with a thud, he flicked his tail and held the young man up in front of him by his armpits, and kind of just dangled him there in the air. "I suppose you'll do," he grumbled, and kind of jiggled him a bit. He seemed tall, muscular, it was clear he was in decent shape. Plus he was brave, or stupid, which he wasn't certain yet, and while he also seemed helpful, Adrame was certain they could work around that or just drop that tendency as a whole.
"What if your name, rider of mine?
