Rose was restless. She watched as the others wandered the premier trying to find ways out of this horrid place. There has to be something we can do. She thought to herself as she trotted around the fence. Her stomach growled again, but she did not want to take a chance with the poisoned food. She would rather starve than attempt to eat something she knew would harm her.

In front of her Rose almost face-planted into a deep, deep hole. the hole was almost twice as deep as she was tall. She noticed that the hole was dug deep into the ground but the fence continued. leaping down into the hole Rose sniffed at the fence. There was a slight metallic smell. Almost that of erosion. Well maybe if I dug some more? I mean this surely can not go any deeper. Ros thought as her small paws flung dirt behind her and up out of the hole.

Katie sees a wolf she hadn't seen before digging. She turn to Alaska and said " I'll be back". Katie walk.up to the wolf digging and end up getting a mouth full of dirt but she asks "who are you and what are you doing?" She was confused to what the she wolf was doing.

MoonBeam doesn't know how to help so she looks around the fences and sees a she-wolf whom she doesn't recognize. She also sees Katie and the brave wolf who said her name was Midnight Rose. MoonBeam remembered when Rose stood up in front of all the wolves and said her name. That was very brave. Rose was digging a giant hole. It was really deep and MoonBeam thought she would get easily stuck in it. She watched the wolves dig wondering if the fence ended somewhere. It had to......right?

Noctem watched Katie walk away to talk to another wolf he didn't recognize, but followed her out of curiousity when she approached a wolf digging in the ground. He walked up to the edge of the hole and looked down. The wolf in the hole was a dark-furred female with red streaks here and there. He dodged a pawful of dirt flung out of the hole. "Woah, careful there," he said, moving out of the way. As he watched, he realized that this might very well be a way out! The barrier could only go down so far... Noctem leaned over the edge of the hole. "Need any help?" he asked.

Katie saw Noctem and said "I already had a mouth full of dirt". The she said the the she-wolf on the hole "Yeah do you need help?" She was hoping to help out the wolf. She thought it might very well be a way out of this horried place. Though the Humans might try to spot them she didn't care. She just wanted the heck out of this place. Then it occurred to her if they do escape what then. She highly doubted she could find her old pack and didn't really want to.

Noctem looked around and spotted a couple other wolves beginning to dig, so he decided to pitch in. He began digging directly next to the grey and red-furred she-wolf's hole, making it wider. The effort of digging felt great! Soon, Noctem was panting as he threw pawful after pawful of dirt out of the growing hole, but the exercise helped take his mind of the severity of the situation they were all in. He didn't know most of the wolves here, but as long as they were near humans, they weren't safe. A thought struck Noctem and he stopped digging for a moment. "Can someone keep watch for the humans?" he called out of the hole. "We don't want them to see what we're doing."

"If you can trust me, I'll keep watch. I'm not doing anything but watching. You guys keep digging. I'll go over there by the entrance and hide under a tree to keep watch." MoonBeam jumped. She hoped that the adults trusted her. They've never actually seen her run as fast as she can. She loved to run and was pretty speedy. Where she used to live, they ran about 3 miles a day chasing prey. MoonBeam trotted over to a tree close to the entrance and hid, watching for people.

As she dug Rose noticed a couple more wolves watching her. "yeah sure you guys can help" Rose said in between pants as she flung dirt out of the hole. Soon there were more wolves' bodies in the hole with her flinging the dirt out of the hole. The job was tire-some, and left Rose's paws dirty, and cracked with blood. She was pretty sure that when they finished digging each of their paws would be extremely sore, and bloodied. Well this should go faster. She thought to herself.

Time flew by, and soon she noticed the chain link fence becoming weaker and weaker. The metallic smell becoming more potent. Looking over she saw the male wolf digging with purpose. "I think if we dig a little more we should be under the fence! Or at least be able to make a hole!" She exclaimed to the wolf next to her. She hopped the others would share her excitement to leave this place.

Even if they were able to get through the fence Rose soon realized that they would need to dig under it, and all the way back up and to the other side of the fence. With that her mood dropped, knowing it would be even harder to do so. Well, I guess I just need to keep going and push on. She thought as she dug more dirt out of the hole. She couldn't help but feel dirty, and grimmy. A feeling she didn't quite like.

Noctem looked briefly up at the wolf digging beside him and gave a her a smile, then turned back to his digging. Panting heavily from the exersion, Noctem continued to heave pawfuls of dirt out of the hole, a task that grew more difficult as the hole got deeper. Noctem cracked one of his claws on a rock and gave a small yelp, but he didn't stop. He dug around the rock and pushed it out of the way. Soon, he was digging beneath the fence, then upward. This was more difficult; digging dislodged chunks of earth that then fell down onto the diggers, but Noctem kept going. This is going to work!He told himself. "What's your name, by the way?" he asked the female digging beside him.
