Ava West
F|16|Therianthrophy/Hydrokenesis|M: Ollie (ind.), Kenzington (ind.)

As the sun rose, the cat-like figure still sat of the shelf, watching out her tiny window of thick glass. Her thick black fur kept her warm, wondering how the rain would feel, being cooped up since yesterday. She could already feel the cool drizzle soaking in her fur at the moment. How it felt cool on her face and sat heavy in her fur.

Sounds could be heard behind the girl, the sound on the opposite side of her door. Ava turned her head, realizing that scientists were coming to get her. As they opened the door, the girl could notice a small crate being carried by a guard. "There is absolutely NO way I'm accepting to be carried outside." She hissed to the guards. Scoffing, one tried to grab her as she jumped down from the shelf, quickly turning back to her normal self. The crate was drastically small, being carried in the thing only once, Ava has refused ever since.

A soft sigh left the girl's mouth as they grabbed her by the wrists tightly. Ava felt like twisting her arms and throwing her fists but it was still early and getting back in was as much of a struggle as anything.

The long hallway held many others, a few being held behind the rest. Ava watched the guards as they stood by the doors, watching and waiting for a fight or some other stupid inconvenience or happen.

"When are we actually going outside or are we just standing here all day?" Ava asked, impatiently. The scientist holding her wrists replied rather harshly, "Soon."

At that very moment she wanted to do something so harsh and awful so the scientists knew what it felt like to suffer like they had to. Waiting patiently to go outside but when they are brought over, they sit by the doors for what seemed like and eternity. Why not come get them when the doors actually open?

Then, a bright idea came to her mind. She still had control of her hands and her hydrokenesis power. A cup of water sat by a guard who seemed to still be eating somehow. Ava quickly minipulated the water, sending it flying toward the guard on the opposite side. Ava burst out laughing, watching the shocked guard for a moment before he glanced sharply at her.

The scientist holding her wrists pushed her forward as the doors opened. "Rude" Ava thought, looking back at him. She quickly took off into the cool morning rain. It felt nice on her face and watched a few others exit the facility into the outside area.

Ava transformed into a dog, specifically a German Sheperd. She started running toward a pine tree with several small holes near it's roots, being a dog, she was very attracted to it. This was because it was full of water and felt like rolling in a puddle. Who cares anyway? She would just shower later and she'd make the scientists angry again, something that turned into a habit and a daily routine.

Rolling in the puddle, Ava's fur became muddy and soaking but felt nice in the morning rain. It was nice and cool and finally more free. She raced through puddles splashing a few people accidentally. Oh how it did feel great to do what she wanted without some scientist to tell her what not to. She felt free and like she belonged outside, away from people and cities where you'd be captured once more and brought back to the facility. Ava ran close around people, careful to not run into someone, to not knock them to their backs.

Elza Reynard | F | 21 | Shield, Mute, Calm/Anger | Mentions: Anyone in the hall (Ind.)

With a sigh, Elza picked at the food that had been given to her, it was disappointing as it was every day but it was food regardless. Having already gone through her usual morning routine of showering, dressing and wrestling her hair into its usual bun. It was a quiet luxury that the facility gave her the minuscule products that they did in order to care for it. She sighed, glancing up to the clock on the wall quietly ticking away. Monotonous and repetitive the tic tic tic used to set her nerves on edge and now it was another kind of quiet comfort.

Glancing down at the sleeves of her sweater and toying with the hem Elza wondered when the guards would come in, it was always a gamble when they would come, perhaps at the beginning of the round-up to act as a calming hand, or maybe closer towards the end to take care of any anger that had been let loose. Ironic, she thought with a sigh, I was always such a handful as a kid and now I’m supposed to be the calmest one. She took a deep breath, glancing up at the door as it creaked open. She leaned back, instinctually adopting a faint grin towards the incoming guards.

“Good morning, boys!” She called to the guards, “a lovely day, no? I mean really I haven’t seen the sun quite yet so I’m waiting for you to tell me.” she continued on even as they stoutly ignored her and came forward, grabbing her arm with a rough, gloved hand.

Elza sighed as they led her out of the room, she glanced down the hallway and called out a loud, “good morning, everyone!” before hissing in annoyance as the guard jostled her snapping at a quick “be quiet,” at her. She sighed and resigned herself to quietly following along with the guard.

Adallina Eris || 18 || Female || Darkness Manip./Power Suppressment || Mentions: Everyone in the hall (Ind.)

Several minutes of Addie’s hand guiding the graphite of the pencil she was using into a delicate dance soon produced an awe worthy depiction. A sketch of a darkly regal outfit lined the page, and while lacking a concrete outline, the artistic mess she called a sketch was easily passable as beautifully intricate in its own right. Sweeping her gaze to the door as an entity entered, a much older gentleman garbed in the clothes only fit for the scientists of the facility gave a beckoning grin. Heeding the silent command, Adallina rose from her place at the desk, but not without firmly clutching her pencil and sketchbook. Her eyes alone asked the one-word question in her mind, “please?

Twisting his lips in brief thought, the scientist’s decision was signaled by the wave of his hand. “Come on.” The man spoke, and a half-grin broke out on Addie’s face, her shoes briskly clicking against the floor to express her wistful attitude for the moment. Some scientists were stricter about items remaining in their cells, and others -such as this scientist- were just a smidge more lenient. That’s the greatest favor Addie would be getting from this scientist -or any she suspected- for the day, however, and she knew this. It didn’t hinder her spirit that reveled in the small win, as these moments were few and far between. Gray eyes curiously swept to a boy facing a corner, the scientist with him giving quite the spiel. Addie did not know this boy by name per say, but she was aware of the rumors surrounding the one with the muzzle. Mostly surrounding his ability when it comes to reading others thoughts. Some younger kids though believe he’s muzzled because he possesses a nasty biting problem, though she’s never witnessed a child grow the gall to ask the young adult whether such gossip is true. None seemed to dare test the male’s ability to access their thoughts though, or memories as some suggested he could do.

There wasn’t much thought Addie paid to the situation as she passed, perhaps a flicker of sympathy, but that is all. It would be far too exhausting and strenuous on the poor girl to riddle herself with sympathies, pity, and guilt over every experiment she saw enduring a punishment or experiencing a rougher time in the facility. That was everyone’s way of life, and she could not carry the weight of so much sadness and consideration on her shoulders. These thoughts crossed Adallina as again she passed by a woman taller than she, an experiment currently being denied entry to the freedom zone, but Addie’s gaze did not lock onto the scene for longer than a few seconds. The sudden ring of a cheery “good morning, everyone” shout that echoed down the halls earned the girl to cast a curious look over her shoulder. Amid the bodies lining the way to the freedom zone’s entrance however, Addie was not able to pinpoint which individual exactly the voice had belonged to.

Upon being released into the freedom zone, Addie’s gaze only thoroughly traveled the area for any sign of her brother. Silly of me to think he’d ever be in here before I am. And yet, every time the girl checked for signs of her mischievous brother's presence. Instinctively she had pressed her sketch pad to her as if she were its life line, which in some semblance she was, considering the light downpour. Drawing in a sharp breath, Addie lowered her head to further protect her treasured sketch pad as she braved the small walk to a distant area that provided some coverage from the weather at hand. Seating herself in the space that provided coverage from the rain, the girl set the sketch pad down onto the table before leaning over to continue her pencil work, as if to still protect it from any potentially impending threats.

Ambrose Eris || 18 || Male || Light Manip./Persuasion || Mentions: Ollie, Kenzington, Elza(ind), Everyone in the freedom zone(ind)

Footsteps.

Ceasing in his rhythmic banging with his tray, Ambrose slid it onto the desk. Stepping away to saunter towards the end of his bed, the blonde tipped his head to the side while resting his hands sassily on his hips. When a figure finally stepped through the threshold of his cell door, a grinch like smile upturned at Ambrose’s lips. Oh, this is going to be fun. The woman before him was a hideous sight -her figure being too wide to avert his gaze from such a monstrosity as well. As he squinted his gaze in observation, she looked more like a trollish boulder with barely passable, human features. As the two made direct eye contact, Ambrose stepped forward, hands still on his hips. Dramatically sniffing the air near the woman, who scowled at the younger male, Ambrose leaned up on his tippy toes to speak in a tone barely above a whisper. “You’re new here,” Ambrose said, “you have that newbie stench to you.” Chuckling as he lowered back down, the younger male turned to walk back towards his bathroom.

“Your contacts.” The gruff woman spoke, to which Ambrose responded with a dismissive wave of his hand. “What do you think I’m putting in right now?” Came the amused voice of Ambrose as he momentarily disappeared to insert his contacts into his eyes. It wasn’t much of a bother to him anymore, especially after years of putting them in every morning. The sound of earthquake worthy footsteps moving around his room beckoned Ambrose to pull away from the mirror for a moment to peep his head into his living area, where the woman had her back to Ambrose. Is this bitch snooping? Blue eyes failed to deceive him as indeed this cow of a woman was digging through the drawers of his desk. Newbie’s gonna learn today!

Reaching for a rag, Ambrose rolled it a little so when he flicked it, it would give a satisfying ‘snap’ to whatever it made contact with. Silently Ambrose approached the figure that had just bent down to go through the bottom drawer, and with a single flick of Ambrose’s wrist, the rag snapped the woman’s lower back. “Back Bessy! Bad Bessy!” The young male reprimanded before dancing back quickly, the woman slowly rising to her full height and angrily turning in Ambrose’s direction. “Damn dude, chill. What are you going to do anyway? Use me as a toothpick? Tell me to get a mooove on to the Freedom Zone?” Ambrose smirked before giving a quiet cackle. I don’t think she appreciates cow humor. Having underestimated the broad woman, in a flash the female had stepped forward and reached out to firmly grasp Ambrose’s wrist that held the rag . The blonde gave a flinch at the sudden action, wanting to recoil from the flabby arm, and with the meaty hand squeezing his wrist, Ambrose dropped the rag. “Please don’t eat me!” Ambrose remarked theatrically, with the women then practically flinging the feather of a boy towards the door.

Stumbling a little before catching himself, then he was given directions. “Stay.” The woman ordered, and Ambrose huffed as he pushed her limits by exiting the cell. With a growl, the woman stepped closer to tightly grip his arm once more and -slowly- the woman thundered down the hall with Ambrose in tow beside her. A female’s good morning shout echoed in his ears, and Ambrose huffed. Define good. “Have you ever heard of circulation?” The young male muttered under his breath in reference to the woman’s tight grip on him, before his eyes traveled towards a figure in a situation arguably better than his own. “Wanna trade bro? I’ll take the talker if you want to risk getting eaten by Bessy.” Ambrose snickered, but if the male in time out risked sneaking a peek at the woman responsible for the need of double doors, maybe he’d get a laugh. Or not, can he laugh in that muzzle?

Dragging his feet some in protest to being in the woman’s grasp, she yanked Ambrose forward to keep up. Grunting in irritation, only then did Ambrose’s eyes trail up to see a woman larger than he. In height of course, since the woman walking with him took the crown for being the largest person in the facility width wise by a long shot. “Heya there Skyscraper, I’d ask how the weather is up there, but I’m sure you’ve already heard that one.” Ambrose smiled, dramatically craning his neck up to gaze at the woman -who was only a couple inches taller-. Another yank and a mutter of ‘keep walking’ from Bessy sent a ripple of agitation to cross the blonde’s face as he had no choice but to get drug along. “What? But I look up to her!” Came the pun he made with a haughty cackle following it.

Ambrose was able to wriggle loose from the grasp of the woman restraining him by the time they reached the entrance to the freedom zone, and the spunky male bounded a short distance inside so the woman couldn’t keep up with him. Turning back to meet her glower, Ambrose stuck his tongue out while flipping her the bird. Yeah what are you going to do? You’ll be winded before you get 5 steps in. Turning in triumph, Ambrose continued with a prideful prance as his blue orbs moved to the other individuals already inside, which were several. Children ran rampant. Gross. There was a dog, which Ambrose supposed was one of the kids with the ability to shapeshift or whatever. Dogs are dumb, dragons are where its at. Looking on in disinterest, Ambrose's eyes moved across a few more faces before he spotted a familiar lone face. “Bestie bae!” Ambrose yelled obnoxiously loud, waving one arm in the air in a theatrical manner to get his sister’s attention, which the words he used quickly gathered her attention. The silent shake of Addie’s head said she did not like him drawing attention to them, but Ambrose loved attention, so… his way or the highway sis. The blonde flicked his head so stray rain droplets flung from his dampened hair as he walked towards his twin, before sitting on the table she was at and overlooking the other bodies moving around the freedom zone. “You should have seen the chick that escorted me, Adders. I’m surprised her co-workers didn’t let her out into the zone to graze on the grass.” Ambrose spoke, with Addie sighing, refraining from quietly scolding him for speaking poorly of others. Even if it was a scientist, Addie never did like to hear when Ambrose bad-mouthed people, which of course the male didn’t see anything wrong with doing so.

Oleander Eshel || 19 || Male || Mind Control/Regen || M: Ambrose, Deacon, Kenzington, Elza, others ind

Herman's hand didn't leave the back of Ollie's neck, until the boy had his forehead squished against the corner. A middle finger directed at Herman caused a sputter he couldn't see.

He heard Kenzington before he saw her. She was loud and her caretaker wasn't any better. Without having to turn around he carefully avoided Kenzington's thoughts and discreetly attached his power to Trent's and quietly observed. While Ollie had most likely never said any of his co-prisoners names before, he did know them (for the most part) whether or not they even knew his name. What he knew about Kenzington was minimal. She had an electricity type thing going on. Ollie had never seen it in person, she was always wearing gloves. He could compare her to a firecracker though.

He had been interested in talking to her, if the chance would ever arise, but like normal he always spooked himself out of talking in other people's heads. Except for a few, the main ones being Arthur and Deacon. He knew there was rumors about whether or not he could actually read minds, and that already had him on edge with the younger kids. There was no need to let everyone know he could actually place his own thoughts in their head.

For a few moments it was just him and Kenzington. Well, and their caretakers of course, Trent's inner thoughts were rude considering Kenzington, mostly about how she was always being a brat. Ollie flitted out of Trent's mind as it turned quiet in the hall asides from footsteps.

Ollie's name piqued his interest. Deacon was passing by, ever so polite.

I guess some of us will never learn?

Was Ollie's only response to Deacon's joking. He knew better than to start a conversation as the other was passing by.

The others were coming more frequently now. Ambrose passing by, loud as always, complaining about his caretaker. At the mention Ollie he turned his head just enough that he could see who was leading the teen. The woman was pissed off. Most of Ambrose's caretakers were though. If Ollie could've smiled at the joke, he would have.

Again waiting as they one by one passed by. A "good morning" soared through the halls.

Elza. If he could remember correctly. According to the scientists, Ollie and Elza were due for a joint experiment. Their powers complimented each other to an extent and the scientists wanted to see their limits worked on each other.

Ollie wasn't comfortable with that. He used to get by with just pretending to read thoughts and his mind control, but somehow the scientists found out if he wasn't using it. He thought it was the collar, probably transferring some sort of signal that they connected with him using his power.

Out of the blue, the boy felt hands on his shoulders which spun him around to have his back against the wall.

"Hands" Herman said gruffly.

Begrudgingly Ollie put his wrists in Herman's and allowed him to hold him in place. Ollie flitted his gaze over to Kenzington and exaggeratedly rolled his eyes. Even if Kenzington didn't see him roll his eyes, he knew Herman had. That would bother the caretaker.

It in fact did. Ollie found his chin jerked forward and eye to eye with Herman.

"Quit it... I expect this not to happen again. Otherwise I'll figure out a way to keep you in your cell all day instead of coming outside. So go ahead and tell me you understand, and won't do it again."

Ollie gave a quick nod, and apparently that was good enough for Herman. Who quite literally started to drag him towards the freedom zone.

Kenzington Elrod | 25 | Female | Therianthropy/Stun/Weather Manip | M: Ollie (ind.) Ambrose (Dir.) Everyone in the halls (ind.)

Kenzington huffed in annoyance as she watched various people pass her by. She knew who they were, sort of. Kenzington could never remember names, either that or she just didn't ask their names.

The minutes ticked by and yet Trent wouldn't let her into the freedom zone. Kenzington was honestly fed up with this little charade of his. Unfortunately there was nothing she could do about it seeing as how every time someone walked by Trent would tighten his grip on her preventing Kenzington from even moving one inch forward. “You don't have to be so rough.. jeez..” she muttered under her breath.

The sound of a loud “Good Morning everybody!” Filled her ears, reminding Kenzington this in fact was not a good morning to her. Honestly why did anyone even bother to say “good morning” in this foul wretched place, it wasn't like anyone was actually having one as far as she could tell.

“Heya there Skyscraper, I’d ask how the weather is up there, but I’m sure you’ve already heard that one.” The voice caused her to turn and face the man who had spoken. This one she actually knew by name, Ambrose, somehow he of all people had left the most lasting impression. Skyscraper? Where did he get that from, I'm basically short. Kenzington herself felt she was shorter than most and Ambrose was only a few inches shorter at best. Although seeing how she was bored she would play along. “You may not have asked but the weather up here is terrible.” Then more silently she added, “this guy behind me stinks it up if you know what I mean.”

Kenzington would have liked to hear his response but the woman directing him to the freedom zone made Ambrose continue to move until he was out of her sight. Once she could see Ambrose no more Trent started to speak. “I heard that.” He growled. “I was kidding, or was I? Anyways it's not like you can do mu-.” Kenzington was about to say more when she felt a sharp pain in the back of her leg. Really Trent? She rolled her eyes then focused them on someone else, the young man with the muzzle.

Unfortunately Kenzington did not know his name although she knew some things about him, like the fact that he could read and control people's minds with his words, although they were mostly rumors so she doubted their truths. Most of the younger kids believed the man bit people and that's why he wore the muzzle. Kenzington herself thought that was a ridiculous idea and wondered who even came up with it. While watching the young man she noticed him turn and roll his eyes at her in regards to his caretaker’s actions.

She looked back and laughed a bit which didn't please Trent at all. “Be quiet!” She turned back to Trent, “be quiet yourself!” Kenzington snapped back. Turning her gaze back onto the young man she saw him being dragged towards the freedom zone which was where she would be right now if Trent hadn't been the idiot he was and kept her here. Her gaze then traveled to the floor as she waited for Trent to hopefully get called away.

Kenzingtons prayers were answered as a woman dressed in a lab coat ran up to them. “Trent you're needed elsewhere.” A smile of satisfaction crept onto her face as she knew Trent must not be happy about not getting to go through with his “punishment”. “Yes yes, I'll be right there, I am dealing with a particularly difficult Experiment right now.” The woman nodded and rushed off. Kenzington growled, she hated how he emphasized experiment and acted like she was lesser than him which was not at all true.

“Come on!” Trent said gruffly as he dragged her into the freedom zone. Finally! The man released her from the cuffs and rushed off himself, whatever the situation she hoped he wouldn't come out of it alive. Although Kenzington doubted it was that serious.

The weather outside was cool and rain droplets splattered on her face as she walked to a shelter of a small tree. A dog was running around splashing up mud and getting itself dirty. Likely it was one of the younger kids using their power but the sight annoyed her nonetheless and Kenzington hoped the dog wouldn't splash her with mud. After all she didn't need her clean clothes splattered in the icky brown stuff.

Inside the leather gloves her hands felt sweaty compared to the rest of her body. Kenzington knew nobody was watching her as far as she could tell and she carefully removed both of them. “Much better..” setting them beside her she folded her hands into her lap and watched the younger kids play.

Sadly her tree couldn't keep her sheltered for long and the rain started invading her personal space. Kenzington felt her mood darken and as if to compliment it the weather seemed to get worse and the rain poured even harder, soaking her messy blonde hair and splattering her clothes. “I guess that's what I get for sitting under this lame excuse of a tree.” She frowned, staying where she was. Not really a point in moving now.
