Veracious

Female | 5 Years | Mexican/Red Wolf | The Eastern Mountain Pack | Hunter | M: (Dir) Hondo. Killjoy. Aoife. (Ind) River.

Hondo's breaths were filled with pain. It made Veracious feel so helpless, and useless because she couldn't do anything to help him. Her eyes were filled with sorrow and concern, her ears pinning on the back of her head. Then, she heard pawsteps in the distance. Maybe it was River again? They sounded way to heavy to be River.. like a male wolf's pawsteps. Then, a very strange patterned wolf appeared, sprinting over to Hondo. Ah, they must be friends. He was actually one of the few wolves she was able to recognize in this pack. He was the alpha of the Eastern Mountain Pack, Killjoy. Maybe Hondo can finally get the help he needs now!

Then, another wolf appeared. A she-wolf this time. Veracious didn't know who that was either, but by the way she smells, she's a packmate. She did seem quite panicked, probably shocked by the strong smell of blood and a snow leopard with a torn throat next to her. Her attention was turned back to Hondo, when he started telling Killjoy to clean her wounds first. Then, she noticed a small mossball wetted with water near her snout. She licked a few droplets of the water up, freezing her tongue in the process. It tasted awful, like licking an icicle. Then, when she was done, she turned to Hondo. "Your many wounds are worse than my one wound, Hondo. You need the help more than I." She felt terrible watching Hondo suffer from pain and stinging cold water, but he needed the help more than she did, and it's better that he gets the water first, no matter how painful it is.

Brute l Male l Beta l Raven l M: Willow
.
Brute smiled as his mate spoke, her words making him feel better. He smiled before saying, "I'm glad he did too, and I'm glad you found this pack, for then I wouldn't have been able to meet you." He finished, giving his head a small bow. His Golden eyes wandered from Willow's eyes to the mouth of the den again. He was head of camp ever since Night left the night before, and he still hadn't returned. He turned back to Willow. "Well I'm going to go take a quick look around camp, see if anyone is out there." He finished with a smirk. All of a sudden, the camps numbers had begun to dwindle, the medics remained, although he had no clue of their whereabouts. Night was supposedly in Eastern Mountains camp, and the others he had no clue. He nuzzled Willow's cheek and gave her ears a quick lick before rising to his paws. "And while I'm out there I'll get you some wet moss so you can drink." He smiled once again and began making his way towards the front of the den. Before exiting he turned towards Willow with a more serious tone. "And you better not move a muscle while I'm gone." He finished the remark with a smile before heading out of the den, into the chilly morning.
Snow brushed up against Brute's ankles, as the Beta looked around camp, looking for any signs of life. As far as he could see, there were none, unless you included the flock of ravens that perched atop of the Alpha's den, staring Brute down as if he were an Omega. "What?" He barked at the ravens, but they only crowed in what he took as laughter before flying away. "Ravens." He muttered under his breath, as he made his way towards the river.
The trip to the river was uneventful, he saw one deer scamper past, and caught the scent of rabbit in the breeze, but other than that, nothing. He snatched up a piece of moss before making his way to the bank of the river. A chill rocked his body as the sudden memory of his serious injury in that river rocked through him. He gave a quick shake, ridding the memory of himself before dipping it in the water, letting it soak up all the moisture. He sat it down in the riverbank as he took a drink for himself, the icy cold water almost burning his throat, but still refreshing. He heard a howl of distress in the distance, sounding close by, but ignored it, it wasn't a call for him, and anyways, he had to watch camp. He took in a deep breath and looked around at the beautiful landscape before picking up the damp moss, and heading back to camp.

Malicia // Eastern // Queen // Mentions: Illusion // Xola // River // Pups

Malicia smiled softly when the medic had solutions, course Xola always did.. it was nice. A sheltered sigh left her lungs, the pups where safe and string for now. She was put at ease when Xola left to go grab the ginger though her muscles still held tension as she nipped at the bedding in frustration. Malicia wasnt hot but, leaving the den was hardly an option.. course she didnt mind.

Malicia waited till Xola returned with the Ginger her audits perking at her words. Thoughtfully she chewed the plant before speaking.

"Thank you Xola."

The swift motion of another wolf joining stirred her to protectivly coil around her pups hackles up before she chuckled at her self. It was River though the mattered seemed urgent.

"Yes! Go youve helped me all you can they need you."

Malicia said urgently as she nodded to the outside and gently nudged Xola and River out. And as they left a furry blob came in whispering sweet nothings to her as he curled around her body. At once the tension disapated as he nuzzled her and licked the pups.

"Hello Bossy mate"

Malicia rumbled softly as she leaned back against his body.

"Hmmm no, I only needed for you."

Malicia said thoughtfully as she rested her cranium upon her paws settling comfortably against the soft pelt of illusion her optics blinking heavily.

Temari || 3 Years || Female || Strays United Guard || M: Alha, Quilo, Harry(dir), Kenai, Pack(ind)

Temari trotted happily behind her friend towards the alpha, dipping her head with a muffled greeting. Tilting her head as she listened to the tasks being given, glancing at her brother who seemed intent on burning a hole through Quilo with his glare she huffed softly. Ever the overprotective brother, she sometimes hated him for that.
Turning her attention back to Alha she grinned and nodded, "Got it! We'll join up with Harry and get started on that right away" she sounded. Briefly pushing her nose over the other husky's shoulder she giggled and bounded over to the dog she vaguely recalled being identified as Harry.
"Harry, right? Looks like me and Quilo are with you today, lead the way" she greeted with a flick of her ear as her tail had yet to stop waving behind her excitedly.

Kenai || 3 Years || Male || Strays United Guard || M: Alha, Freya(dir) Temari, Quilo, Pack(ind)

Sitting silently as he listened to Alha go through the day's tasks and assigning patrols, glancing sideways he spotted Temari standing beside Quilo. His gaze hardened as he noticed how their shoulders almost brushed, anger bubbling up causing him to grumble softly. The sound of his name being mentioned drew his attention from the pair back to the leader.
Pausing briefly as he tried to catch up to what she'd said, looks like he'd be on border patrol with Alha and the other new dog Freya. Should be interesting he shrugged and dipped his head to the smaller dog, "understood" Kenai voiced gruffly.
Standing he gave one last seething glance towards Quilo, before padding after the leader. Frowning at the snow crunching under his paws, he was grateful however he'd been picked to assist with checking the borders. It would give him a chance to get a better feel for the territory, along with the chance to get away from the exhausting energy of both his sister and Quilo. The latter he'd much rather stay away from his sister but she'd do what she wanted, he'd learned a long time ago he had no say in such things.

Xola || 6 || Female || Wolf || Eastern Medic || M: Malicia, River, Illusion (Ind)

The charcoal pelted medic smiles sweetly at the nursing queen, her eyes emitting a gentle warmth at the gratitude as they lock with Malicia’s own. She dips her head down respectfully before raising it again, “Of course, dear. It-”

The slowing of frantic paws and the rustling of vines signaled the entrance of another to the den, a most unwelcome one as far as she could decipher. The female before her was quick to shield her pups, curling around with the raised hackles. Though, she soon chuckled herself – a hushed noise that Xola nearly missed.

Turning around, a familiar light pelt stands at the shelter’s wake. River stood there, dipping her head in greeting towards the dark coated female. She honestly had half a mind to scold the younger she-wolf for barging in in such a manner, however quietly she had been. It had been enough to startle the mother behind it. Or that would have been on her mind if not for the urgency of the whispered statement that came next.

Her ears flatten as her face takes on worried expression, amber eyes shifting towards the (assumably) new pack member. An attack at the eastern border? From a large feline of all things? Dread couldn’t help but simmer in her heart. Though she had never encountered a snow leopard, she could only imagine the damage it had dealt based on her experience with other big cats. It wasn’t going to be pretty.

She stood there for a moment or two, watching her depart from the den in a slight hurry – holding the same expression all the while. It wasn’t until the queen herself urged her to leave that she sprang into action. With a burst of energy she surges from the day, cantering past Malicia’s mate and towards River at the camp’s entrance.

Slowing to a hurried walk, Xola pauses to look the female dead in the eyes. “Take me to them.”

Shadow & Night | M | Alphas | SFP & Raven | M: Eastern Pack
River | F | Not official Alpha Female | Eastern Pack | M: Members at Eastern Border, Xola, Aoife
Shadow watched as Killjoy disappeared towards his border. Night was already heading after him. The two males, while in another territory, knew that had been River and they were going to see if she was okay before following Killjoy's directions. Settling into a steady trot, the two males made their way towards the border.

~

River startled slightly as one of the females of the pack came up, demanding to know what was going on. Her ears flattened slightly at the barge but she could understand the urgency. "I don't know who except there is two of them, but it's at the eastern? border by the meadow." River responded, not knowing the borders of the pack. It was definitely something she was going to have to learn. The female rushed off, leaving River alone only for a couple of minutes before Xola joined her. The seriousness from her tone reminded her of Flame's. She nodded before taking off towards the border, following the scout's scent as well as her now staling scent.

River was at a full-out lope, keeping a high pace yet making sure Xola was keeping up and ears swiveling so that they weren't off guard by anything else. Her nose was telling her that her alpha was nearby though. Paw steps quickened and a large male came out of the bushes, matching her stride. Not the alpha she was thinking about she blinked to Shadow all the same. Shadow pressed his coat against hers, turning her slightly more towards the direction he saw Killjoy go. Night joined Xola, matching pace but staying slightly behind her, wary of their surroundings.

The troupe finally came to the border where River came to a stop next to the wounded. Night walked up next to Killjoy, surveying the surrounding land and waiting to help where he was needed. If it was possible to move the two back to camp, he would provide muscle. Shadow, on the other hand, walked up to the female (Aoife) and said, "Help me move the leopard. If we can move it past the meadow and out of your territory, scavengers should stay out of your way." Without waiting for her reply, he stalked over to the leopard, noting that it seemed to be the same one that he and Silver had encountered the day before. Ignoring the blood, he pushed his head underneath the body, pulling it onto his back with ease.

His tail flicked as he waited for the female to grab some of the weight beside him, turning his head slightly to watch River. River was waiting patiently to do whatever Xola needed to do. Once the female scout had joined him, if she ever did, he started making his way slowly through the meadow. Between the two of them, it shouldn't take them long to get to the edge of the meadow.

Bardou // Beta // Raven // Mentions: Open // Silver

Amber optics blinked slowly it had seemed as though she had fallen asleep again outside her den. Such situations where a rarity for her but, she finally felt herself enough to rise from her curled up position. Her wounds stretched yet didnt reopen and her face didnt feel near as heavy as it had. However, Bardou was still a creature of the grave as her old pack would have called her.. a legended they would tell pup stories of to enforce good behavior before bed. Bardou chuckled softly at this and looked at her empty den.. a lonely expression breifly covering the betas mangled features.

"Tis not meant to be."

Bardou murmured softly as she turned to the outside of camp. Silver hadnt returned yet and Bardou would be damned if that female got hurt. Blasted, Ill just head out there then wont be to bad on these here wounds if I dont go galloping about. She thought to herself as she trotted out of camp following Silvers fadded scent, her audits swiveling alertly upon her cranium.. Bardou was one wolf that would never sit still.. not unless she was pinned down which haha would never happen in her lifetime.

Silver & Foxes | Members | SFP | M: Each other
Silver trotted through the forest, keeping her head low as she sniffed for any sign of pack members. None this way at the moment, other than stale hunter scents. They had definitely started this way but didn't come back this way. Icicle tree-hopped ahead, stopping every once in a while to wait on Silver. Frost had disappeared but reappeared so often. "There's not much of a trail. It looks like they started after something though. Moose from the smell of it." Frost said, returning as they started to reach the outer border. "Oh good. I was starting to think that the snow had taken all the scents away." Silver replied, sighing. Snow and her did not get along when it came to scents.

Icicle joined them, hopping onto her back gently. Frost kept pace with her from the trees. Silver slid down a small slope, making it to the edge of the Raven Pack's lake. She could see a herd of. . .yak? in the distance but kept to the tree line. No sign of the hunters that Bardou had sent them to find. "Hmm. . ." Silver started to think out loud when she saw a flicker of movement close by. Her ears flicked forward as she lowered herself into a hunting position. Frost froze in the trees, eyes scanning to see what she had seen. Icicle had hopped down quietly, by her side and ready to pounce at her signal.

Everything was quiet for a moment before a yowl tore the clearing as a mountain lion leaped for Silver. Silver backpedalled, but not fast enough as the big cat landed on her back. Icicle was quick to latch onto an ear, causing discomfort and distraction as Frost jumped to snap its tail. There was a moment of visible confusion coming from the cat, which was all Silver needed to worm out from under it. She dropped in a battle stance, tail lashing as Icicle got thrown off the cougar's head. Leaping forward, she bit down hard on one of the legs. Frost got thrown off the tail and landed hard but was quick to get back on his feet. He hopped into the tree but yipped in pain as the cougar snapped onto his tail.

Icicle immediately went to batter its head, having regained her balance. Silver let go of the leg only for a moment to claw at its chest, snapping at its throat. The cougar seemed to have enough of that. It let go off Frost and shook its head to rid of Icicle. It hissed at Silver, seemingly ready to pounce again. It paused before running into the trees. Silver panted, debating on whether to run after it. "Uh Silver? I think we need to run!" Icicle said, her head turned to the lake. Silver started to turn to look but the shaking of the ground told her enough. The yowls of the cougar had stirred up the yaks, enough for a stampede.

Silver ran over to pick up Frost, who was shivering slightly, before tripping herself. She hadn't noticed but the cougar had managed to get a claw hold on her leg, which didn't hurt too much as long as she didn't put weight on it. Silver stood up, her eyes focusing on Icicle's bobbing tail as the fox changed directions. Limping after her, she saw the small ledge the fox was leading her to. If she got there before the stampede got to her, she did not know but she was going to give it a shot anyway.

Bardou // Beta // Raven // Mentions: Silver // Foxes

Bardous audits swiveled forwards the scent of Silver having grown very strong, and the scent was followed by the furious yowls of a cougar. Cursing softly, Bardou leapt into a flowy gallop her paws extending and tucking beneath her frame her wounds protesting against such actions.

Rounding the bend she spotted Silver.. the foxes and a Stampede Of Yaks running right towards them. The cougar having the sense to flea the scene. Bardou watched as the three ran towards a cliff that could offer them shelter if they.. could make it.

"Stars above they are not gonna make it."

Bardou Exclaimed as she lunged forward into a faster pace, her singular optic upon the herd of Yak. Snarling and barking Bardou lunged at the Yaks along the side of the herd pushing their momentum away from the young wolf and foxes. Such tactics where that of a hunter who'd wheathered many stampedes.. infact Bardous last pack used to run small herds off of cliffs to ensure food was plentiful.

With one final lunge at the Lead Yaks feet and shoulder Bardou had successfully turned the large paniced Herd away from Silver and the foxes. Panting she swiftly moved off to the side, where she stood banner tall and audits erect her hackles bristled.

Once the herd had moved off into the distance and didnt seem to be comming back she turned around to face the trio. Bardou then trotted up to them her expression concerned.

"Good heavens, that was a wild encounter. You three alright?"

Bardou asked as she shook out her pelt her muscles feeling almost.. refreshed after such an endevour though, she knew full well sundown would be cursing the thin trickles of crimson that leaked from the wounds she had stretched. However, she paid no mind to this as she had just saved Silver.. and the foxes from being squished into a nasty pulp. Mind you Silver had a decent wound on her leg and some minor scraps that Bardou could see with her singular optic.

Alha | F | Alpha | SUP | M: Freya, Kenai
Alha nodded to the pack members around before trotting to catch up to Freya. She kept to the used paths, making sure that the others were as well. They made it most of the way to the river before a furball darted in front of her, stopping her in her tracks. "Trap here," the small dog said, hopping over an almost hidden vine. Alha held back a sigh before stepping over the trap carefully. "Watch your paws, it looks like we are at the edge of the territory. There will be traps galore." Alha said to her companions as Loki darted past a metal clamp. "I've checked the traps in this area. Kinda hoping that Frost would join me but it seems like he's busy." Loki said, pausing at the border before huffing. "I'll be checking the traps that we set for the humans now. If you're unsure about anything, give me a howl." Loki said, bounding off.

Alha thought that was odd. Normally Loki would have said something flirtingly to her before going off. She shook her fur out, oh well, whatever it was, she would deal with it later. She sniffed around the border, finding Shadow's scent nicely. The scent of foxes wafted in the breeze as well. Alha marked the border nearby, not taking over the original scent. Perhaps Shadow would be down later in the day to check on them. Maybe. "Let's steer clear of the humans today. We'll travel the river shore towards the meadow." Alha said, moving in the opposite direction that Loki had taken. She would have to check with the male later and see what was on his mind.
