Storm-Male-Wolf-Eastern-M: (Dir) Hymir. Veracious (Ind) None. ~ Storm angled his head downwards slightly in a way that would show respect rather than submission to Hymir. He noticed the other male's facial expression quickly change to a serious one, so he kinda just assumed he'd done something wrong. But instead, it turned out that the wolf was just going to scold him for putting himself down. "Two wolves died, then right afterwards, I screamed at that dying wolf in camp. You had a right to be frustrated, especially since your mother is the medic, so I guess she probably makes you help around the den. So then you gotta help a wolf not die-" He stopped himself as he noticed that he'd begun rambling on unnecessarily. He knew that Hymir probably didn't want to listen to all his constant rambling and jabbering about the same topic as he tried to explain why he thinks that Hymir was just frustrated when he snapped. "All I'm saying is that you were probably incredibly frustrated then because there was me screaming, another wolf dying, and there were two dead wolves in the corner of your eye." Then, Storm heard Hymir begin to speak again. Now he knew from that sentence that Hymir did indeed help his mother with medic duties. I remember when I'd help my mother with nesting material gathering. A wave of sadness washed over him at the thought. At that time, he'd absolutely despised gathering the nesting material, but now, he'd do anything to go back to it. Instead of allowing the thoughts to continue on, he just smiled at Hymir before replying. "Ah. I bet your mother needs all the help she can get right now. She's busy dealing with a dying wolf right now, or is he all better?" He managed to not wince at the thought of the wolf from before laying in the camp, with his blood practically pouring from the wounds like a waterfall. Once again, Hymir began to speak, but this time, he answered Storm's question from before and them he began... complementing him? "Two years? That a long time." He paused for a moment before continuing. "I've never really been called 'brave' before. I never really thought of myself as someone brave... well uh, thanks?" The tone in his voice was proving how awkward he felt at the moment. He'd never been good at replying to complements, mainly because he'd almost never been complemented by anyone since he left his birth pack. -[~|~]- Veracious-Female-Wolf-Eastern-M: (Dir) Storm. Hymir. (Ind) None. ~ Veracious sat in the corner, watching the two male wolves have a conversation right next to her. An unpleasant look was plastered on her face; her eyes narrowed and her tail thumping up and down as she awaited when this "Hymir" would leave. She found it absolutely loathsome that this wolf insulted Storm, and a few minutes after he's already coming and groveling for forgiveness (Now just to be clear, she could tell he wasn't groveling. It's only exaggeration). The two were practically acting as if they were best buddies now, and Storm obviously didn't even have a shred of anger still remaining at Hymir. I don't know how he just forgives like that. A huff of annoyance came from her jaws as she watched to two peacefully talk with each other. They were both acting as if nothing just happened. To be honest, Veracious just wanted to stomp over there and shred Hymir's ears off and watch him cry. No one can hurt Storm without going through me later. That's when she began brainstorming different tactics on how to get some revenge on this wolf. What would make him feel the most pain... What if I just yelled at him? Or stomped on all the medic's herbs so he'd have to gather more? Ah, I'll do that. Sounds like a brilliant plan as long as I don't get caught.

Arashi | F | Hunter | Raven | M: Shiva and Solaris Arashi made sure to push her competitive side down as far as she could so she wouldn't ruin the hunt. She knew that if they didn't get this one, they wouldn't have a chance at another before they had to return home. The snow was slowly getting worse so now it wasn't just a fight against predator and prey, but a race against time. Once Shiva gave the female an opening, she lunged forward to nip the legs of her prey. A minute later, Arashi fell back slightly so Shiva could once again have a turn. The female noticed the moose herd but didn't give them a glance. They wouldn't interpret so why pay attention to them? . Arashi quickly dodged out of the way when the bull stumbled. Good. It was getting tired. The female lunged forward again, snapping at its legs. She kept this up for a while, taking turns nipping the bull with Shiva, before it finally stumbled. Arashi quickly jumped forward again, digging her teeth into its flesh. She left the final blow for one of her fellow hunters unless the bull started to get up again and she needed to take the kill herself. She knew she could've easily stolen it, but she also knew she would have to save as much strength as she could so they could get back to camp as fast as they could. She would probably regret not killing it later, but right now she was determined to get everyone home safely.

Oreithya Raven Pack | Female | The Medic | Mentions: Hymir (dir.) , Xola (ind.), Vervacious & Storm (ind.) , Willow (direct) The alabaster wolf snorted softly as she noticed that everything within the Eastern Camp had calmed down. And she gave a soft hum, wondering how her apprentice was fairing without her - she would check in with him soon. And she gave a glance, as to look for the medic that was kind enough to let her be in her turf for a little while - yet, the raven female was no where to be found ; seems she was busy as a bee as usual. And she gave a soft chuckle, it would be best for her to depart and make sure nothing had happened at her camp while she was gone. And she was making her way out of camp when she notes the raven colored son of Xola in the company of other wolves. And she gave a soft grunt to announce her presence to the young male and he gave her a wary expression but acknowledged her. "Forgive me for interfering with your conversation," she began politely, "Hymir, can you tell your mother it was a pleasure to work with her, and that I have departed to make sure things at my camp are alright. You have a good rest of your day." She said kindly and she watched as the young male dipped his head politely and she returned the gesture. As she walked away, she could feel the chill of the incoming winter air. And she breathed in its frigid temperatures, and released frosty breath. Winter was coming, and she knew that illness wouldn't be far behind. She gave a soft huff at the thought - the female had been wise enough to stock up on herbs before frost could get to them and now she hoped that she could find some herbs for the winter. She made her journey home, and she could see that most of the camp was rather empty and quiet. She gave a soft contemplative hmph at that. The pack must be out hunting for a last time. And she made her way to the medic's den, to at least tidy up and prepare if she needed to assist a patient. And that's when she caught the faint scent of blood and her ears and body tensed at the smell and she found the source to be within her den. She noted that Willow was there and she appeared injured, and at that she scowled a bit, "Willow," she said with the tone of a scolding mother, "I hope you're not here because of an injury. You shouldn't even be doing anything strenuous because of your previous injury."She said scolding the female, and she then gave a soft sigh before saying, "what happened?" In a more calmer voice.

Quilo || 3 Years, 5 Months || Male || Strays United Guard || M: Freya, Temari, Alha, Frodo, Kenai (Ind) The eyes of the optimistic husky all but glimmer and sparkle as he awaits a response from the newcomer – his tail wagging so harshly that it began to shake his entire body. He took little notice of Temari’s approach, being entirely focused on the canine in front of him. And, being his usual self, he failed to take notice of the swarm of emotions painting the female’s eyes. But what he did notice was the small pause in time between his question and the response he was still awaiting. Perhaps, something was wrong? Maybe she took issue with the amount of energy he had? He was uncertain. At her eventual response, his face brightened as he took a small step forward with a raised head. “Freya. Freya. That’s a pretty name! Where did you get it? I- I mean, I know where you got it. Probably the same place as mine, our parents. Well, not exactly the same place as mine since we’re not related…” his mumbling drones on and on on this topic, not noticing the new guard slip away to speak with some of the others who had returned, “... But, that’s besides the point. How was your- oh!” Quilo starts upon finally noticing Freya’s disappearance – tail and grin dropping, and ears perked – finally noticing her speaking to Alha who was surrounded by Temari’s brother (yes, he had once more forgotten his name) and… another new dog?! The surprised expression lasted no longer as he raced over to greet yet another possible friend, still not noticing the presence of Temari behind him. He skids to a spot beside the ground, lifting his tail to get a greeting to Alha before listening in on their conversation. While worry did strike his heart at the mention of missing members, he became much more fixated on the new, seemingly old male urging his new friend’s brother to guide him to the dens. The same friend’s brother who had offered to help Alha find the missing dogs not a moment before. “I can take him to the dens,” the husky remarks without hesitation, earning a startled jump from the small being, “I know where they are! I’ll get him there as fast as I can and then get right back to my post with Temari! Promise!” Suddenly, the hyper male hunches into himself with a sheepish expression – ears flat flopping to the side and fur puffing up in embarrassment. “U-uh… only if you’ll have me do so, Alha and new dog,” he bows his head slightly in respect before meeting her eyes, awaiting a response. The small tan and black being chuckles at the guard’s enthusiasm. “I’m alright with that if ya are too, alpha. Wouldn’t mind having someone ta pester for a bit while we wait out this brewing storm.” Quilo perks up once more, taking on a momentarily proud stance, “Great!... Um, pester?”

Brute l Male l Beta l Raven l M: Ore, Willow . Brute was about to fall asleep when a familiar scent filled his nose. Just as his groggy mind recognized the scent Ore walked in the den. His ears flattened a bit at her tone but when it mellowed out he gave out a sigh and rose to his paws. "I'll give you two some alone time." He said, giving Willow a reassuring wink. Then with that, the coyote colored Beta made his way slowly out of the den and into the frigid tempertures. He gave a shiver and shook his coat, then walked outside. He made his way over to his den, which was empty abd alone, and padded in a circle, before laying down and falling asleep.

Finley / F / Stray / M: Anyone/ Finley stopped in her tracks and remember things was a pack full of pure wolves they wouldn't except her so she would probably just be better on her own. Finley turned around and began to follow her tracks back towards the open area of where the last wolf showed her. Finley ran her nose along the river's side following the stench of her past self before finding the opening once again. Finley flattened her ears knowing it was going to be a harsh winter and she would need to find a home soon before the winter cold kills her. Finley trotted through the thick snow looking for any covered area's that would be warm enough for her to stay in, she walked around for a couple of seconds having no luck of finding anything useful. But then it hit her she remember hearing something about a stray pack at the bottom of the mountain towards the other wolf pack that lived by. That made her ear perk right up before running along the rocky area looking for a safe place to start climbing down and look for the pack at once. Edited at October 17, 2023 07:19 PM by Mountian Pack

|Aoife/F| Scout/Eastern| Mentions: Finley(ind), Pack(ind)| . Aoife watched the dog lope off down the riverbank, sighing briefly once she was out of sight. Turning away she gripped the leaf bundle she carried, bounding forward through the trees. Her steps light and quick, her slender body able to weave through the undergrowth with ease. Keen eyes scanned her surroundings, looking for any familiar herbs as she made her way back to camp. Pausing briefly as she entered, there was much less movement now and that made her feel a tad bit better. . Padding softly over to the medic den, hesitating at the entrance before poking her head in. Searching for the medic's dark coat, she dipped her head and set the leaf and herb bundle down. Quickly shuffling backwards out, she glanced towards where the kill pile would be. A frown over her face as she shook herself before making for the den, the scents of a few other wolves hit her as she pushed through the branches. Flicking an ear as greeting to any others, Aoife shuffled to her usual corner. Curling around herself and laying her tail over her eyes, she willed herself to sleep against the uncomfortable clench of her stomach. ~ ~-[][][]-~.~-[][][]-~ ~ |Willow/F| Queen//Raven| Mentions: Brute, Ore,| . She chuckled as Brute spoke once he neared her, "I am a little bit" she mused. Willow made a small sound of contentment when he twined his tail with hers, "I see, alright" she voiced lowering her head back down. Sleep pulling her back as she heard Brute's last comment, a gentle chuckle sounding from her as she smiled. Sighing softly Willow gave into sleep, feeling comfort in Brute's warmth. . She blinked sleep from her eyes at the sound of Ore's and Brute's voices, lifting her head as the male rose to leave. Her gaze following Brute before shifting to the medic, "sorry" she chuckled sheepishly. "I accompanied the hunting patrol earlier, with Brute and alpha Night. The deer surprised me with a kick in the shoulder" Willow explained, wincing briefly as she pushed herself up into a sit. "I don't think it got me too bad at least" she chuckled dryly, trying to find a positive so she didn't make the medic worry too much. Afterall she'd feel useless if she had to sit in camp for too long, Willow wanted to contribute for the pack she now called home.

Loki | M | Scavenger/Hunter | SUP | M: Harry, Pack(ind) Alha | F | Alpha | SUP | M: Her pack (ind and dir) Loki chuckled darkly at Harry's question, "Where do you think? The humans." He answered in an 'obviously' tone. He weaved around another trap before saying, "From what I know, the foxes use resources to their advantage. Shadow being one, and maybe other foxes. Or, in a few cases, when an earthquake happens and a hole opens up, they simply use that or expand on it. One thing about holes, not much can cover them up." Loki went silent, having spoken a bit longer than normal. He liked traps though so he didn't mind much.
Loki paused as a howl reached his ears. Alha. Signaling everyone back to camp. Loki hadn't noticed until now that the snow was picking up. Dang it, they hadn't even gotten to the human traps yet. He growled before shaking his head, "We'll have to check them tomorrow." A smirk crossed his face with a slight playful look. "Race you back!" He said before taking off, his lithe body hopping over the traps they had just weaved around. For once, his tone wasn't snarky, more playful than normal. He let out his own howl, letting Alha know he and Harry were on their way back.
~
Alha turned as Freya came up before offering a calming smile. "You do not need to fret. We have friends up at the wolf pack if there was trouble to arise. He'll take care of her." She said, her eyes soft before they flicked over to the rest of the members that were gathered around her. She listened to all the points before saying, "I do not want anyone else leaving the camp. I will take Kenai with me to find Loki and Harry. Quilo," she turned with a slight amused look on her face, "You may escort Frodo to the den and keep him company."
Alha then turned to address Temari, "You and Freya go to the dens. Do not worry about the guard at the moment. Everyone needs sleep. You can show Freya around the camp tomorrow but I will have Loki show all of you the traps nearby so no one gets caught in one. The humans will not be able to get here from town. With this storm coming, I doubt much of anything will try to attack us." Finally finished with her orders, she turned to Kenai. "Let's go. Last I remember, they were headed--" A howl split through her words and her ears flattened slightly in relief. Loki. He and Harry were on their way back. Alha sighed before saying, "Nevermind. Go get warm before the storm comes. I'll wait until they get back."
Alha sat down, her eyes closed. She was tired, there was a storm coming and they were in an unknown territory. This was going to be a long night. Her pose was relaxed but there was a tension within it. She might have acted fine with her sister going into unknown territory but she was worried. What if Shadow wasn't up there when Shalah arrived? How far out was Loki and Harry? How many more dogs could they take in? She herself only knew how to hunt sheep, chickens and fish. And there was only one of that prey out here.

Cye || 4 Years || Male || Eastern Pack Scout || M: Ash To say Cye was taken aback by the young male’s sudden aggressive jab. He stuttered in his movements in surprise, halting momentarily with widened pupils and perked ears. His head and neck raised upwards as well, pushing back into his body as though he were trying to appear big while shrinking back. This position lasts only a couple of seconds before he trots up to the apprentice’s pace, his demeanor having completely shifted. His lips were curled up in a strained grin, dripping of once oddly calm malice and sickeningly false amusement. His eyes were ablaze with flames, crackling at the mere thought of the words the young pup dared to mutter. To think that anyone could match his skill was a crime in it of itself. But to proclaim that one could surpass him in his expertise? Well, he was clearly as blind as a bat during the day. Oh, but don’t get him wrong. Cye would never dream of harming another so inexperienced and young. Let alone one that was helping him find shelter before the harsher side of the storm had truly hit (especially since the snow appeared to have slightly picked up since their walk began). But it would be wise to him… put him into his place. A slow rolling chuckle emits from the canine’s throat, bouncing his shoulders as he walks. It too was filled with some amount of malice and distaste towards Ash, but he had enough control over it to ensure that it would be difficult to detect. His eyes close as he does so, working to hide any lingering emotions that may have arisen from that biting comment. “My dear boy,” he begins, eyes opening and grin retaining that oddly calm and amused appearance, “How can one surpass the best without learning from them? This ‘Anya’ may end up being rather skilled, but overcoming my level of expertise would only ever be a mere dream in the mind of another. Besides,” he pauses momentarily to speed up his pace – a rather easy task if he does say so himself – before slowly down when he was ahead just enough to look the young wolf in the eyes, “One has to be born special to be as skilled as I. And I’m unsure either of you or Anya have it within yourselves to even get close. Especially with that little… performance of yours back there.” Dropping the smug attitude, he suddenly shrugs his shoulders and flutters his eyes shut – giving off a more innocent yet sly feel. “But,” he pushes himself sideways slightly with a lifted paw, “Who am I to say? I haven’t met this other canine, after all. Maybe she has some potential?” Following his sly little remark, Cye sets himself along their former path – swinging his head to the side to nudge the rest of his body back into the usual walking pace. Though, he pace did remain slow enough for the younger male to catch up and surpass him. His tail swishes behind him as he walks, mildly proud of his little “comeback.” It wasn’t the best he’s ever produced, but it’d be better to go a tad easier on the wolf working to bring him to shelter. Their walk took the two deep in the forest, much deeper than the current loner had been expecting. He often found himself glancing around at his surroundings in curiosity. The snow created an oddly beautiful scene for the valley-side area, with large flakes tumbling down between branch and leaf – painting the fading autumn colors with its star-like complexion. It was a sight not unfamiliar to the tracker, but one he had not witnessed in quite some time. Or, at least, not enough to truly appreciate it. The call of the smaller male caused his blue eyes to flicker back onto his gray coat, attentive to the words being spoken. A small relieved breath of air came from his nose at the announcement of the nearing camp, a puff of warm and condense air leaving him as a sign of said emotion. Good, shelter will be accessible soon. A few minutes later, there it was. The camp of the residing pack. The steadily falling (and possibly thickening) condensation made it difficult to pick out amongst the trees, but it was there. The leaf litter male was quick to attempt to urge the other male into a trot – trotting himself but refusing to go further ahead than he was. The cold was beginning to sting at his pelt as well as his paws, and he wanted no part of that sensation. Shelter was imminent. All he needed was for the apprentice to find the alpha who would grant him access and he’d be golden. Until the storm passed, anyway. At least, he began, almost in an attempt to assure himself, this is one task complete. Even if it did put a dent into my original plan. The next step will be left for tomorrow.

Night | M | Alpha | Raven | M: The pack(ind), Cye & Ash(dir) Shadow | M | Alpha | SFP | M: The packs(ind & dir) Night waited until Brute and Willow were out of sight before sniffing the air. After a few minutes of guarding the deer, he got up before heading down the trail. If he was lucky, he could catch up to his hunters before they got into a hunt. Luck didn't seem to be on his side though as he scoured the trail in front of him. There was a lingering scent of moose and his hunters, suggesting they had given chase. From the tracks, it must be an old bull or cow. Night sniffed the tracks before picking up his pace. The snow had gotten thicker which worried him. Best to get that hunt over with and home.
Night froze as he came out to one end of the path, an unknown yet familiar scent reaching his nose. Didn't smell like prey, it had to be a predator? Perhaps. Either way, it seemed to be tracking the moose and his team. That wasn't good. Night crouched down, stalking forward. His ears stayed alert as his eyes darted around. The trail followed his hunters for a while before going off into the forest. Night paused, unsure whether to follow before deciding to. Whatever this predator was, he needed to find out if his pack could take care of it.
It was several minutes before Night came to a small clearing. There was logs piled up but no sign of a den. A dead rabbit lay half eaten to the side. Night ignored the rabbit, instead turning in a full circle to scan the area. Nothing. Interesting. The track ended at the edge of the clearing yet it wasn't a lynx so it couldn't have climbed a tree. Night flattened his ears. Great, a useless journey. He was about to leave when a snarl reached his ears. He threw himself out of the way just in time as a large white blob lunged out of the nearest tree. Night rolled to his feet with a growl before taking in the creature in front of him.
Cream and white pelt with brown spots covering the thick fur. Long furry tail and round ears. The paws on the cat were huge and with its snarl, it didn't look very friendly. Night backed up as it swiped it's paws at him. A yowl erupted from it as it lunged again but Night leaped forward, barreling into it. That surprised it which allowed Night to retreat to the edge of the clearing. He turned back to swipe at it before ducking out of the way. He didn't duck fast enough as the cat pinned him down, it's claws digging into his not-yet healed shoulder.
Night panted, snapping at it which only made it lash its tail. His eyes darted around, looking for some way to get out of the hold. The cat suddenly yowled in pain, releasing Night who laid there in slight shock and pain. He looked up to find it bucking around with something black on its back. He got up before snarling again, but the cat was blatantly ignoring him now, screeching its pain as it thrashed around. Finally, it threw itself into a tree, earning a growl from the wolf on top before rolling onto the ground. Said wolf then got off, rounding a tree to snap at it again. The cat had enough though, deciding to limp away as fast as it could.
Night panted, watching it go before hearing, "I can't leave you alone, can I?" Night turned with a relieved look on his face. Shadow huffed beside him, now looking like he just got out of a fox trap. Blood stained his chest and paws with bits of cream and white fur scattered on his pelt. "I had it under control, thank you very much." Night shot back, the joke hitting spot on. "Mhm, my my, turning into a fox aren't you?" Shadow said back with a playful snap of his jaws before flicking an ear. He padded into the forest, similar to the way the cat had gone, flicking his tail for Night to follow.
Night sighed before following Shadow, limping slightly. The small stream they came to was only big enough for Shadow to lay down in, coming up to his shoulders. He rolled around a few times before shaking off. Night did the same after Shadow moved out of the way, relishing the cold water. Shadow sat close by, watching Night before looking at the sky. The snow would have covered any tracks by now and was growing thicker. The storm was closing in. Night knew they needed to get going as well so he got up before looking around. Oh boy, everything looked white. "Let's go, the storm's closing in." Shadow said, taking off at a steady pace.
Night rolled his eyes, knowing the pace was for his shoulder but matched it. It took them a half an hour to get back to camp but when they arrived, Night spotted two wolves that were not in the dens. One was not of his pack but didn't look Eastern either. He was about to go over when Shadow howled. Night flicked an ear, looking at him before seeing Flame get up. Similarly, so did Silver and Frost. Shadow had howled for his pack before looking over as Icicle yipped. She was waiting for Anya. Shadow walked over to guide Flame to their den, only pausing once to look back at Night. They met eyes before Night dipped his head, closing his eyes respectfully to him. In both thanks and respect. Shadow did the same before guiding Flame up to their den, Silver and Frost trailing them.
Night then turned, heading over to Ash and the new wolf. He paused in front of them before narrowing his eyes slightly. "Ash, go get warm. The snow is picking up." Night said, addressing the apprentice before looking over at the new wolf(Cye). "You can stay with Ash for the night. No wolf belongs in the storm without shelter tonight. There should be an extra nest in there as well." Night said, his head staying high with a neutral expression on his face. He waited for the two wolves to either move off or respond.
