Winter's Wail
The wolves reside in a large Alpine forest, surrounded by mountain ranges with several rivers and streams running through providing fresh water year round. Small game like rabbits, squirrels and marmots scurry the grounds, while larger mammals like deer and mountain goats graze the plains and scale the mountains. The packs often compete with predators including Lynx, Brown Bears and other wolves for both food and territory.
Winter has been harsh, and food is scarce in the area. Often the hunters have had to travel over 50 miles to find a decent meal, and sometimes return with nothing. The wolves wait longingly for spring to come, in hopes of more abundant hunting. The packs in the area have been getting into fights more frequently, stressed from the harsh weather and limited food sources. They had never been very fond of each other, but circumstances have caused even greater tension between them. In order for them to survive, they must work together to get through the winter, or die with their pride. The Mountain Pack This pack’s territory consists of a large portion of mountain ranges. They mainly hunt Ibex, Deer, Mountain goats, and less frequently, hares. They are a more fierce and dominant pack, and very territorial. They don’t take kindly to trespassers. The River Pack This pack rules over the forest and a large portion of the rivers. They often fish and hunt rabbits, marmots and deer. They are a more docile pack, and less harsh with intruders. The Loners These wolves have no place in a pack, often from being banished or not having the courage to introduce themselves in fear of being rejected. Talon awoke and rose to His feet looking to the side of Him seeing His mate Volima still sleeping, He nuzzled Her before walking to Aspen for His day of training Talon was a strick father and wanted Aspen to follow in His footsteps, Talon walked to the training area where many prey was for the pack and leaned behind bushes for the perfect attack athough He wanted Aspen to do this Himself He slowly helped out His son so He knew where to hunt and where not to hunt because Talon feared that one day They may cross the path of The Mountain Pack. |

Aspen was woken up by His father nudging Him, He was kind of ticked off to why His father just wouldn't allow Him to sleep in but when Your a hunter in training You have to wake up pretty early to make it to the spot otherwise You become lost and having no idea where to go, Aspen nuzzled His sister Phantom before slipping out of the pack area with His father His mother Volima had no idea on what He was doing since She was asleep, Aspen cackled before running into the woods with His father right beside Him. |

Phantom woke up to the nuzzle of Her brother but when She fully opened Her eyes She seen nothing at all just blackness all around, The only thing She did see was glowing yellow eyes looking down at Her was it a wolf of the pack or a complete stranger She didn't know, She rose to Her feet and walked to Her mother slowly laying beside Her for comfort and warmth She licked Her mother's face as She placed Her paw around the small pup, Phantom felt loved especially with Her limp She would have to be monerterd but She was still nervous as to who that wolf was. |

Delta | River Pack | Hunter (In training) Delta shifted in her sleep, disturbed by the sound of movement in the den. She squinted her eyes open, thankful she could still see decently in the dark, to see the Alpha male and his pup sneaking out of the den. Excitement ran through her veins, and she quietly made her way out of the den behind them, making sure to stay far enough back to not be caught. She loved a good hunt, and she wanted to see the Alpha at work. Maybe he would teach her someday, too… Daemon | Mountain Pack | Alpha Male Daemon awoke at once, taking a brief moment to stretch before looking around at his sleeping pack. He usually awoke much earlier than the rest of the pack to do his rounds of the territory, and if he’s lucky, may even catch a rabbit or two for his beloved Ráðgríðr. He padded silently into the early morning moonlight, making his way towards the pack border to be sure the other pack was staying on their land. After a couple quick sniffs proved there were no intruders, he strolled along the border, marking a few bushes here and there.
After some time Daemon caught a whiff of something familiar and delicious. He identified the scent as a wounded deer, the smell of blood quite prevalent. A loud shrieking broke the silence, and Daemon stalked towards the area in the cover of the shadows and brush. The smell of blood now engulfed his senses, and he emerged from the shadows to confront a small male already digging into the small doe. He let out a ferocious snarl, the hair along his spine sticking up to make him appear even larger than he is. The young loner let out a soft growl before scurrying off into the trees. Daemon sniffed around for any signs of other wolves, but he found none. Looking around momentarily, Daemon grabbed hold of the deer and began dragging the carcass to his pack, tail high showing his confidence. |

Talon stopped Aspen in His tracks when He spotted a deer a good training animal for His son, Talon lundged forward and graspped the deer without warning Aspen closely behind, Talon growled to Aspen to kill and put the thing out of it's misery or it would suffer and just like Talon expected His son killed it, Talon was proud to have a pup that would follow in His pawprints and maybe oneday become the Alpha male Talon gave a happy whine before grabbing the deer and dragging it back to the pack's den, He would perk His head up every now and then to see if anything was near but never found something. |

Aspen looked to His father not wanting to obey what He was told but He had no choice, He quickly sank His teeth into the warm flesh on the deer's neck and tore breaking the animals neck and spine, The deer screamed a painful sound before laying still, Aspen let hold of the deer to enjoy the victory He had made before His father grabbed it and scurried back to the pack, Aspen was close behind not wanting to be left behind in the darkness what He could tell was that the sun was just starting to peak over the horizion of their territory, Aspen gave a happy snarl before sitting down beside His mother. |
