He sprang up quietly, moving towards it, hardly hearing Night talking. He followed the rustle, and found a small baby rabbit. He stayed still, just watching, not attacking, though he didn't know why. He jumped up as Night and Ace followed him, and gave her an apologetic glance. "I'll tell you next time where I'm going. I'm just so used to being a loner, and being able to go wherever I want, whenever I want." He smiled at Ace as his brother lay down next to him, then froze as he heard the coughing, and how Night said that Ace was sick. He got up, ashy tail swishing anxiously from side to side as he sniffed Ace suspiciously. He couldn't be sure, but maybe... he looked at Ace, serious and worried. "How long has this been going on? It seems like..." He didn't mention what he actually thought, but he turned to Night, and tried to keep his voice calm as he asked, "Have you seen any catmint?" Catmint was one of the best medicines for Greencough. And Ace's symptoms... he tried to remember what the best remedies were. Feverfew? Tansy? He snarled with frustration, his long claws scraping the ground nervously. If he was right, then their group was in great danger.

I cough gain blood coming out this time and I stand up coughing more and more. It seems like I couldn't stop coughing." You got anything to help with this Night or Sparrow?" I ask between coughs. I'm losing a lot of blood with this condition

I watch Ace in worry. Was he going to get better? I walk over to Night "He'll survive this, right? he has to." I whisper to her, tears in my eyes. I hope it's not a communicable disease, we don't want the others to get infected. I keep my distance from Ace, not wanting to catch the disease. Just incase. The pups need someone to look after them.

I wanted to run to him and tell him he's going to be okay. But I couldn't. How frustrating. I keep my head down and make sure the pups are with me, trying to hold in my tears.

He pressed his ears back against his head tightly as Ace coughed up blood. The flashbacks came again, a wave of terrifying memories, the sharp claw who had saved him choking upon its own blood, twitching and drowning in crimson until it died. He had been lucky, his cough never moving beyond greencough, but blackcough... if his brother died... "There may be fennel by the river." He said, his voice still calm but this time from pain and fear and worry. Poor Hawk and Luna, growing up without a father. And as for him... he had just found his brother, he couldn't lose him! His fear hardened into steely determination. "Night. Selene. I'm going to leave the group, and take Ace. I'll do my best to help him, to make sure that he may heal. If not, or if I get sick... I'll leave you a message by the river. Tell my pups... tell my pups that I love them." He stopped speaking, barely able to keep from breaking and crying. He pressed his long muzzle against his pup's faces, and licked them, whispering, "I love you, you too. I'm sorry. I-I promise I'll try to come back." He turned to Night, and gave her a bittersweet smile. "I'm sorry, my love. I'll try to come back. Just know... I love you. So, so much."
