It seems unfair that if you challenge someone in leaves, you get to see what leaves they put down, but if you get challenged you're just in the dark on it?

Husk could tell he embarrassed her, but he didn't make fun of her, or anything else mean natured. He waited for her to gather herself as she moved to sit on the bank a little ways from him, and he certainly didn't blame her or feel offended about. They were barely even aquantinces at best. "My name is Husk." He replied. "And yes, the alpha sent me." The grey male assured. At least she asked, instead of assuming that he was some sort of stalker. "It is a pretty nice spot." Husk agreed. "I wasn't being sarcastic earlier. You have done a good job finding this." He said, hoping it would sooth any hot fur she had lingering.

Xivu looked at him a bit skeptical at first, as he asked after her name and rank. She hadn't said anything about joining. She had only come to watch everyone else in the awkward gathering. Xivu supposed if her brother was going to try, she could too. Plus, if she didn't, she could very well be run off and the she-wolf was pretty fond of her fishing spot. "My name is Xivu." She replied after a fee moments of consideration. "I suppose hunter would be best for me."

Dove stood there, his body relaxing a touch with every passing minute. This female had not set out to try and figure everything out from the start. She had given him space and left as she needed. It was something he was thankful for and the grey male was unsure of how to really show that. For now though, he listened to her as she gave her name and then the rank that would work for now. It caused a smile to cross his face, but he did not show any other outward sign of his contentedness.

"Thank you miss Xivu." Her rank for now would be hunter and she could do as she pleased, as long as she aided in hunting and the like. "Adenne is searching for a suitable den space for all of us, but I understand if you would like to continue being seperate until you are more comfortable with everyone." He was true on that for he himself would like to keep his den for the time, but he knew he had to be the glue in a way that would keep everyone together.

Adanne Mater

Adanne nodded... his name was Husk. An odd name, but who was she to judge? He certainly fit the title in terms of appearance. Those crimson strikes on his haunches and legs were rather intriguing on a canvas of gray. Adanne, however, would catch herself staring and kick herself out of her own subconscious, tilting her head as he agreed with her and clarified his tone. Adanne merely shook her head.

"I took no offense, no worries," she said, bringing a paw up to swipe at her own face as a butterfly tried to land on her nose, "but I appreciate the encouragement. This is the first time I've been around others of our kind in quite some time, I was hoping to do the pack justice."

With that, however, Adanne clambored to her feet, shaking out her pelt of any leaves that had fallen atop her fur. She cast a look in Husk's way.

"Well, let's wrap this up and find a place for a den," she said, offering somewhat of a smile (do wolves smile?) in his direction, "on the way, you can explain your story. And maybe I'll tell you mine. I'm rather curious, you see."

Adanne wouldn't wait for him to answer, and instead begin her leisurely walk back into the woods, ducking beneath low-hanging branches and weaving inbetween narrow spaces of densely packed trees. She enjoyed the way the sun was filtered through the trees, painting her with dappled lighting that was just potent enough to warm her ever-so-slightly without overheating. It felt rather nice on her blueish silver body.

"What brought you this way before the howl?"

Husk took his time to follow. Casually getting to his paws first, and grabbing a quick drink from the cool water, before he sauntered after the she-wolf, following in her pawsteps. Her words drifted back to him, his ears twitching to the sound, but his eyes had wandered from her pretty suncast pelt to the surrounding trees. Soon they would be stripped bare, limbs heavy with snow, and the colorful foliage long gone. Traded for grey skies and sharp, frigid winds. Perhaps this winter would be better, having a pack, rather than seeking warmth from his prickly sister. "Curiosity." He replied to her question. "It seems your not the only one plagued with it."
Xivu tilted her head a bit as she regarded her new alpha. It was customary for a pack to stick close together, yet he was offering her the opposite. The she-wolf was rather fond of her freedom. Only ever dealing with Husk when she was forced too. She gave a thoughtful sound, then a nod. "Are you hungry?" She asked, before turning back in the direction she had been headed, only to glance over her shoulder at him. "Surely all of this has built some sort of appetite?" Without waiting, Xivu began to walk back to her fishing place where she had been before the howl.

Lonesome Dove

Looking at Xiva for a moment, Dove took in a deep breath. He wanted to lay down and sleep, but he knew that was not allowed currently. He had a job, one where he would make sure everything was fine and safe. It was going to be a toll upon him for a long while, but for now he would shove that asside. Instead, his attention was pulled away from his internal thoughts as she brought up food. At her words, his stomach gave a rumbling noise and a faint blush colored his cheeks red. He would of prefered to be silent on his hunger, but his body decided it would do what it wanted.

Nodding, he watched her before his paws followed as she moved. "What kind of meal are you wanting?" He questioned then, not willing to make up their mind. She was the hunter in rank, she could decide what they would eat and he would be content with it. No one really would make a better decision on food other than one who lived here. He was newer to the land, so for now he let her be the judge of the meal.

Last Man Standing

Licking white fur tinged red, a creature of white coloring blinked their eyes. Soft and pink in color, the albino's gaze flicked out over the territory he rested in. He had heard a howl, avoided it, and now could hear voices coming his direction. His long white tail twitched for a moment, as if the appendage made up its own mind. He was curious, but currently could not give a single care on who was coming his direction.

Humming softly, the albino male named Last Man Standing licked his paw pads. He had taken down a rambunctious rabbit, but other than that he had not done much. For now, he sat there with his ears perked towards the male and female voices all around him, almost as if they echoed against the trees and vegitation before reaching his perked ears.

(Anyone can bring Ding into their section of the rp.)

Adanne Mater

Adanne struggled not to say anything about his mention of curiosity, given her tendency to think about a lot of things. So, instead, she settled for a slight laugh, "oh, if only you knew."

However, she soon stopped in her tracks -- her ears pointed forward as she raised her head. With a few sniffs, she caught the scent of another wolf, not one that was at their little gathering. Sure, Adanne could assume it could be another member that arrived when she left, but what were the odds? They were too far -- it didn't make sense. She tilted her head toward Husk, the fur on the back of her neck standing straight up. If she were alone, she'd creep in stealthily first, but...

Adanne looked Husk up and down.

They'd be fine. She swiveled her head in the direction of the scent, "there's someone ahead," she explained to Husk incase he wasn't quite paying attention, "let's check it out -- this is our territory, now, we need to stake claim and ward out any problems."

Although Husk was present, he wasn't completely present. His attention focused behind them as he trailed after the female, letting her keep guard up front. But when she stopped, it brought his attention forward. His ears perking, and his hackles giving a few twitches at seeing her neck fur rise. Husk, growing serious, stepped up beside Adanne just as she turned to look him up and down. In another scenario, he might have teased her about it. But not now with a stranger to face. "The lack of border marks are no excuse." He said. "They heard the howl just as we did." Affirming her statement to lay claim to this new territory. The stranger would either join, or get out. There were no other options. But the male didn't overtake Adanne. Didn't try to push his way to the front like most males would probably do. Instead, he stayed shoulder to shoulder with her to face this potential threat.

"The easy kind." Xivu answered Dove as she lead him to the stream. Once they reached it, she flicked her tail to the spot she had been laying earlier. He could watch, but be well out of her way. She didn't want to be tripping over the alpha like a rambuntious pup if he tried to help her fish. Without a glance towards him, she slipped her delicate paws carefully into the water. Not wanting to spook the trout into a fenzy. Moving towards the middle, she stopped and held as still as a statue. Her eyes watching the movement beneath the surface. Suddenly, her muzzle darted forward, her face dipping below the surface. When she yanked it back up, a large trout flopped around, yanking at the she-wolf's head but she refused to let it go. Crossing back over to the alpha, she dropped the live fish at his paws, letting him be the one to kill it as she shook off her now wet coat.

She had been sitting for too long already, in her opinion. She didn't want the pack to think that she was lazy, especially because at this point she had decided to stay. Standing up, she shook out her long fur and decided to try to hunt a bit. She sniffed at the ground delicately, trying to decide what to hunt, as this seemed to be quite prey rich. She smelled what seemed to be moose, deer, and elk, but moose and elk were a bit hard for a wolf to hunt on their own and frankly, she didn't think that she could take one down by herself. Glancing around, she didn't notice anyone who would come with her, so deer it was.
After following the scent for a bit, she ended up near the bank of a river, where the hoof prints seemed much fresher. Only a few minutes had passed, probably. Sweet roses were growing on the bank, and here was where she spotted the deer. It was a mule deer, a doe; it seemed pretty young but still strong and big enough to feed their pack. She crouched, studying the surrounding landscape to find any ways to make the hunt easier, and spotted a rocky cliff nearby. A cave mouth loomed threateningly in the center of it. If she could chase the deer into there it would be trapped and if she was careful she could take it down easily.
She started by working her way behind the deer, freezing every few steps to make sure she was still downwind of it. Then, she sprang forward, choosing not to bark and alert all nearby prey and instead snarling quietly yet threateningly. She raked the deer's hindquarters with her claws, perfectly herding it towards the cave, and taking a second to grin happily when she got there. She leapt at the deer, feinting towards its shoulder then instead licking her jaws onto its throat and pulling it to the ground, before stepping away and proudly eyeing her catch. Then, she picked it up and started back towards camp.
As soon as she was back at camp she dropped the deer and shook herself, exhausted but happy. A deer was a good first catch, especially to show the pack what she was capable of, and that she was a good hunter. Maybe even a good candidate for alpha or beta female? That was too far in the future though, she reminded herself. The pack was still in it's early stages of development, and didn't even need those roles yet. She wondered where everyone had gone. After all, there had been a lot of wolves just a few moments before, and now there were only a few.

Hanne finally got up. The pack had dispersed, and, after listening for a while, had agreed on a mutually beneficial truce to settle things between them.
Although Hanne was still rather shy, she had a critical eye of what she could do. The pack slowly dispersing had led her into a nearby bush. Watching. Learning. Hanne may have been shy, but she knew what connections to make, and what to do.
Hanne quietly observed from the bushes for a good long while (trying to cover for my lack of posting in the last 12 hours, sorry), and it was at this point she finally stood up to interact with others.
Revenge looked like someone everyone'd like to avoid. But... would she make a good ally? Hanne knew that she might have been relegated to the underdog. But that wouldn't mean she couldn't do anything.
Sliding out of the bushes, Hanne's hunger panged at the sight of the deer that Revenge had brought in. Here, her shyness took control briefly, then she shook it off. The pack may have been in it's early stages, but they were already bonded together, and that meant... talking.
Hanne quietly sidled up to Revenge, prepared to see what she was capable of. Would Revenge be a good ally? Hanne was determined to find out.

Lonesome Dove

The easy kind... which meant what exactly? Dove had seen rabbit's and fawns called easy prey, but he was curious about what she meant considering they were heading to a body of water. Its rushing current had him curious towards the middle, but where Xivu placed her paw seemed to me more shallow and calm. His head tilted as he watched her, but soon enough his curiosity was saited when she came back up with a fish. Her muzzle had been quick and confident, her strike well practiced. It was a fluid motion, one that had his tail faintly wagging as she brought him the fish. "You sure you don't want the first kill?" Raising a brow, Dove lowered his muzzle and softly nudged the still alive creature. After a faint breath, he did take the swift rout of ending the flopping animals life, not wanting to have it suffer for a simple meal.

Last Man Standing

Continuing to lick his blood stained lips, Ding listened some more before heaving out a breath. He had been scented which had been the point, but now it was almost useless. It made his fur faintly ruffle as he rose from his sitting position, his white as snow frame moving through the bush until he stood before the male and female. A white brow rose upon his head as his pink eyes took them both in, a grin lining his lips and marking his face. "Soooo... Whatcha doin'?"
