ah i dont use coloured pencils a lot but i think the way you do it is just really soft layers- do one layer really lightly, like over where you want the colours to overlap, and then the next colour really lightly over top, and so on and so forth
its just a lot of layers and patience

If I'd give any constructive criticism I'd just suggest looking at some references or doing studies, it really works wonders with proportions and anatomy ~

Ok so good news and bad news.

The bad news, I watched the video like 2 years ago and it was old and obscure then..

The good news! I dug up my "Drawing Animals 101: How to Draw with a Veterinarian's Eye" book by Mari Suzuki. EXCELLENT anatomy.
