Since a couple of them have accumulated now, it was decided best to merge them all into the sticky topic. So any notices, and future notices regarding 'stock' sources that are not to be used can be found posted here.

There have been several of these images popping up lately and it left us mods a little wary for some time and questioning the sites integrity as they both appear to be of a similar nature to Shutterstock and both are in fact partnered with Shutterstock. (Which if you didn't know already, is NOT a good stock site and it's use is not permitted in the making of avatars here.) The site allows users to create an account and upload images is reason one for out concern as a member of the site would be able to upload whatever image they wish.

After many hours of looking up images on there it has been found that a vast majority of the images found on Pixabay and Pexel are not actually stock images at all and have been taken from an alternative source then just labeled as such. Following a brief discussion among the moderation team, we have decide to disallow the use of both Pixabay and Pexel in the creation of avatars.

P.S. If you need stock images to choose from, Deviantart stock is almost always accepted.

It has come to the attention of the moderation team that the user Freaks-bases over on DA has traced bases from the anime Wolf's Rain, and potentially other animes. As such, bases from them will no longer be allowed on the WP sites. It will be breaking the rules about stolen artwork otherwise.

Unsplash stocks are no longer being accepted on Wolfplay. Avatars currently on the checklist will be subject to removal in lieu of this notice.

It has come to my attention that some users are uploading art and adoptables using images from the site GetDrawings, which is NOT an acceptable site to obtain stock from. This website falls into the same category as Shutterstock and other "free stock" type websites, which is questionable in its reliability. Many of the images uploaded to GetDrawings are unlawfully stolen and reuploaded from places such as Deviantart, and claiming to be free stock. Using the images and linearts posted on GetDrawings, and crediting GetDrawings, is likely contributing to this sort of art theft and is not allowed on WP.

Please refrain from using this website to make any sort of art/adoptables, and feel free to PM any of us moderators with any questions.

Neither are accepted stock image sites due to reasons similar to the first post. A lot of the images there are stolen.

They were not allowed previously, but they are posted here for your reference.

It has come to the mods attention that some players have photo manipulation shops that are using stock from Khalliysgraphy on DA. Khalliysgraphy's stock is allowed to be used, BUT you are NOT allowed to use it for commerical purposes. Using Khalliysgraphy's stock images in shops for profit is not allowed, and is considered a form of art theft. To anyone who has recently purchased art that is of Khalliysgraphy's stock, we ask that you pm us mods with who and/or what shop you bought it from and not use the art if they are for avatars or other reasons. All players with avatars containing their stock will be PMed to see if the players have bought it or if they made it themselves (or if the image was used in a noncommercial way, i.e. gifted to said player).

To those with shops using Khalliysgraphy's stock, please discontinue doing so and refund every person who has paid for a photo manip that contains any parts of Khalliysgraphy's stock images.

Update on Lakela's stock.

Upon review of Lakela's stock rules, their stock is now allowed on WolfPlay again. Please note that any type of commercial use [for example: commisions, YCH or premade art sales] is not allowed unless proof of purchase/donation is provided.

If you do not or are unable to pay their fee for commercial use, their work can only be used non-commercially. Non commercial use includes gifts for other players, personal work, use as a reference for personal work or use as roleplay references.

Please make sure to follow their stock rules and read any stock providers rules carefully.
