Nabih couldn’t really remember how it happened. The time between arriving at Val’s house and now was a blur. All he knew was that he was sitting on the bathroom floor of his friend’s house and using a shard of glass to cut up his arms. They weren’t too deep, he didn’t think. Though he could be wrong. It’s not like he could actually see clearly right now, given his state. But despite him knowing what he was doing, knowing that it was wrong and that he should stop- He didn’t. He didn’t deserve to stop.

Besides, hearing that their son either almost bled to death or did bleed to death might just make his parents regret leaving this time. Every time. He tried his best to consciously push the shard deeper, he hoped they regretted it. He hoped they suffered for their actions. He hoped they stopped leaving. And he nearly sobbed harder at the thought that he didn’t deserve to have them come back and actually stay.

After a bit longer of him making his arms look more like ribbons of red, he paused to stare at the damage. It only took a second for him to push the shard back to it though. He was pathetic, wasn’t he? His parents were busy making sure they all had a roof over their heads and here he was, trying to ruin it all. Why? Because he was lonely? He had Val and the others! Because he was sick of coming home to an empty house? He was rarely there anyways, what did it matter! Because he wanted someone to feel sorry for him? Oh please, that would be so much worse than this.

And despite everything, he sees the door to the bathroom open. He sees Val in the doorway, and all he can think to do is to press the shard deeper into his skin. Val stared at him for a bit before simply leaving the bathroom door open and going back to wherever he’d come from. Nabih simply continued with what he was doing, until Val came back again, after what was probably a few minutes, holding two bottles of whatever alcohol they had been drinking that night.

Val went over to him and yanked him off the floor, and soon enough Nabih found himself outside with bloody arms and the two bottles. Val hadn’t wrapped them or anything, just sent him on his way with some drinks. The drinks would probably help with the slight sting he was starting to feel from them.

Either way, he started the long walk to his residence. His empty home. He opened one of the bottles and began drinking it on his way, it tasted strong. In fact, if he had to guess what it was, he’d have half the mind to guess absinthe.

He was just arriving at the house when the idea came to him. Absinthe had the highest alcohol content, which made it lethal to have more than one bottle of it at max. He had two. In theory, he could… It didn’t take him long after that to open the other bottle, and to drink all of it. And then the only thing left to do was wait for alcohol poisoning to set in. It would probably be quicker, given his still free flowing bloody arms and all.

He decided he didn’t want to die in the empty home he’d known for years, so he made his way out and down the street. He didn’t get very far before he stumbled and fell, the blood loss and alcohol poisoning finally setting in. And yet, he knew that he wasn't hidden. Anyone could come across him and stop it. He hoped desperately that they didn’t, or that it was too late by the time they did.

Leroy's short story

Okay, this one is a little different, so I'll give you some background information.

1st: Because I'm saving most of his backstory for the RP, Leroy's short story is actually told through the perspective of his little sister, Cherry.

2nd: After his brother's death, Leroy's aunt and uncle took his twin sisters (Meadow and Cherry) in, though they refused to take in Leroy because the accident was 'his fault.' At the time of the 'accident', the twins were 5 years old. They haven't seen their brother since, and their aunt and uncle refuse to talk about him, secretly feeling bad about what they did.

I sat on my bed silently, strands of my auburn hair falling down around me as I examined an old photo. It was of me, Meadow, my older brother Roman, and my oldest brother Leroy. Me and Meadow stood proudly in front of our brothers, hands-on-hips in our soccer uniforms. We'd just won a game.

I closely examined my brother's faces, I hadn't seen either in... What was it? Six years now? Maybe seven, I'd lost count. Leroy looked strong and proud as always in this photo, one hand resting lightly on Meadow's shoulder, while Roman, as always, had a somewhat dreamy smile and far-away look, one hand on my shoulder. Roman had always seemed distant to me, or, what I remember of him did. Distant, but not in a bad way, more like he could see something that no one else could and he was amused by the fact we didn't understand.

He used to tell us stories too, both my brothers did. Especially when mom and dad fought. One of my earliest memories was laying in bed while Leroy and Roman made an improv story together, just for me and Meadow to hear. It always felt special.

"Cherry! Mom says it's time to eat!" My twin arrived in the doorway of our shared room, green eyes bright as always.

For twins, me and my sister looked nothing alike. Meadow had dirty blonde hair and green eyes while I had auburn hair and brown eyes. She was shorter, I was taller. She was stronger, I was faster. That's how it had always been.

Now, Meadow was always happy, and I never understood how.

"They aren't our parents, Meadow."

My sister's smile faltered. "What?"

"They aren't our parents," I repeat. "You don't have to call her mom."

"They adopted us a long time ago, Cherry." Meadow protests. "They're the closest things to parents we have."

"That's not true!" I snap, standing up. "It's not, what about Leroy? He raised us on his own! Our parents were assholes, Meadow, face it! And auntie isn't any better, if she was she would have taken Leroy in too! Our older brother, Meadow, did you forget?"

"Of course I didn't." Meadow's voice was soft, and her usual smile had disappeared. "But we were five, Cherry. There was nothing for us to do."

"What if there was? What if we could have saved him? What if we could have helped Leroy?"

"We were five, Cherry."

"I know, but-"

"Sister, please." Meadow's voice quavers slightly and she steps further into the room, reaching out a hand that I take. We look into each other's eyes the same way that we always have when we're having a serious talk or moment. "I miss them too, just the same as you do, but it's over now. We have to move on."

"I know, I just... I can't shake the feeling, what if Leroy's still out there? Do you... Do you think he remembers us?"

"Of course!" My sister's voice changes to a tone of surprise. "It's Leroy! He never forgot anything. Who knows, maybe we'll even see him again someday!"

"That's a nice thought," I say, calming down a little and smiling weakly at my twin.

"Not just a thought, sister, a hope! A dream! Maybe, just maybe one day we'll see him again. And then, then we can run away together and be a family again! No mom and dad fighting, no auntie and uncle to boss us around, just us! Oh, and maybe Leroy's finally got his thick head a lover!~" Meadow giggled and I grinned, honestly, the thought of out loud, protective brother falling in love sounded obscure.

"Who'd want to marry that goofball!?"

"No idea, but maybe someone who saw what we did? His soft side, the person that came to every game and played hide-and-seek with us?"

"The Leroy who took us to the park and told us stories?"

"Yep! Who knows, maybe he finally opened up to someone! And then, we can move into a mansion and live happily ever after together forever!"

"I like that." I sighed. "It sounds like fantasy, but I like it."

"You never know, some dreams really do come true," Meadow said, smiling and squeezing my hand. "Now let's go eat before auntie yells at us!"

I nodded, placed my photo carefully back in my drawer, and followed my twin downstairs.

Miles away, Leroy stared at the same image before placing it gently into his bag. Maybe, he thought, he'd be lucky enough to find his lost siblings along the way.

Leroy and Aries: Defensive Duo. I honestly feel like I have to make these two a duo, and they should get more screen time together. Let's be real, they're actually relatively similar, they just 'hide' their emotions differently. I also think they have two different sides to their friendship. The first, as previously seen in the first two-three pages of the RP, would have to be fighting, they're both protective and reactive, so if one of them says or does the wrong thing the other is likely to get triggered. The second side would probably be a more genuine friendship, I think they could get along very well if either of them decided to be patient enough to talk to and converse with the other.

Nabih, Leroy, and Ethan: The intellectual trio. Okay, hear me out, these three are all very smart on various subjects, theoretically, if Leroy got past his competitiveness, Ethan found the courage to speak up(and stopped trying to push Leroy and Nabih together for five minutes), and Nabih just kept doing what he's doing, these three could be very dangerous. I mean, I'd like to see anyone get out of a trap they create... Or beat them in a game of trivia. Seriously, if they just came together and decided to work, bye-bye stupid guy. XD

Aries, Cal, Leroy, and Eva: Screenie quartet. Let's be honest, everyone wants to see a game of Mario Kart between these four. Pure. Chaos. And so much fun. Imagine them all fighting for first place while Leroy smashes his control out of pure rage, Cal makes bad puns and does impressions of all the characters while leaving Leroy in the dust, Aries is in the corner try-Harding, and Eva is just casually winning round after round. Comedy scene anyone?

Aries stumbled along the sidewalk, actually having to struggle to keep up with the one holding his hand and dragging him along. Quincy. He was laughing about the situation too.

“No worries, Khorne! J won’t mind at all, we did decide on an open relationship between me and him. If anything, he’ll love you too. You’re like, impossible not to.”

The two boys had stopped by then, and Aries gave a light chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. Forced. Strained. “I don’t know about that, Quin.”

Quincy looked at him, and grinned, rolling his eyes. “Oh come on! You know that’s true already! Stop fishing for compliments.”

And for a moment, Aries believed him. Only for a moment. He shrugged, “Maybe.”

“Come on love! I thought I’d drilled that into your thick skull by now, how dense are you?” But there was laughter behind his voice, light and easy. Quinn was honestly amazing, that was for sure.

Aries shrugged, and the two kept walking, telling each other jokes as they went. Eventually though, the two stopped in front of a house and Quincy led him inside. “Yo J, I’m back! I brought some company too!”

Aries glanced around the front room out of pure habit. The place didn’t seem bad, just a strange mix of tastes. Mafia thug and boss vibes along with a distinct use of the colors yellow, green, and red. He looked back at Quinn, and the person coming down the hall who was most likely J. “Who the- Why’s he in here though, Q?”

Quincy hugged J, giving him a light kiss on the cheek. “The one I told you about yesterday, babe. This is Khorne, he’s pretty cool.”

“Oh is that so?” J looked up and at him then, and Aries nodded a hello. “Well, pleasure to meet you then Khorne. You been treating my boyfriend here good?”

“I’ve been trying to, you’d have to ask him how well I’ve done that job.” Aries smiled lightly, trying to follow Quincy’s lead. J grinned though, so Aries assumed he’d been able to do that good enough.

J nodded and looked at Quincy, “Well then? Has he, Q?”

Quincy grinned and shrugged, “Almost better than you, hon.”

For a second, Aries tensed and silence overtook the group. And then J and Quinn began laughing, and Aries joined in after second.

“That’s good, that’s good. Nice job, Khorne. How about you go and get us some drinks, we’ll be in the front room. You good with that?” Aries looked at J at the question and nodded, turning and beginning to walk down the hall as the other two took a seat in the front.

The kitchen was luckily very easy to find, the hard part was finding the drinks. He grabbed the glasses first. Aries assumed that J had meant alcohol, so he was checking the normal places people hide that kind of drink. In the fourth place he checked, he found a few bottles of scotch. So, he picked them up and made his way back to the front room, finding the two talking and laughing.

As he walked into the room, they noticed him and J grinned. “Ah nice, you found the good stuff. That’s awesome. Come on over and I’ll pour us all a cup, feel free to sit anywhere.”

Aries nodded and walked over, placing the glasses and the bottles onto the table. Then, he took a seat on the other side of Quinn. “Knew you two would get along.”

J barked out a laugh at that as he poured some of the scotch into the cups, “You always were good at reading me.” A glass was handed to Aries and then one to Quincy, J looked at Aries as he poured his own. “Well, how about we actually introduce ourselves, hm? I’m Jacob, one of the boyfriends of Quincy and I’m looking forward to seeing more of you.”

Aries grinned, nodding. “Good to meet you, Jacob. I’m Khorne, another one of Quincy’s boyfriends and I’m looking forward to getting to know you.”

Quincy grinned and took a drink, laughing. “Oh, I love you both! You’re both hilarious, now how about you both focus on drinking and kissing me instead?”

Honestly? He’s perfectly fine with it. Of course, there’s a few changes he’d make here and there about himself if he had the chance due to how similar he looks to his father due to them and all. But he honestly has no problem whatsoever with his current appearance.

Awkwardly, and then try to find out if any of the strangers play sudoku so he can at least have something to talk about. With friends? Casual. He’s very much the good father/mother figure the gang never had.

Most definitely he’s a stoic.

Well, he doesn’t really have a way to display his affection to his family. Since his parents are always busy and all. As for friends and romantic interests? Not really, for now he just offers his support and guidance. Some things are more important than feelings, after all.

Not really, no. He’s fine with most things when it comes to that stuff.

With as much indifference as he can manage, and politeness. And then he’ll lock himself in his room away from temptations until he’s sure he can deal with himself.

He’d politely(albeit awkwardly) explain he isn’t interested.

He’s actually rather confident about most things, he just is also fairly modest so it balances out.

It’s different in different circles. With Val and his friends, he’s seen sort of like a traitor, he’s sure. With his gang, he’s fairly certain he’s either seen as the mom or the dad. He’s fine with both of these.

Plan ahead! Nabih hates to do things without a consistent and coherent plan.

Only with certain things, but he avoids those when he can.

Positive: Debatable. Probably either his intelligence or how reliable he is.

He has a lot of regrets. The one he feels most guilty about though, is how he didn’t come up with a plan sooner for his friends.

So… Do we mean coherent memory or…? Because babies can form memories at the age of one! Just not good ones. And they can make relatively good ones at the age of five! Be more specific! In general, the most coherent first memory he has is of his mother and father telling him goodbye as they leave for a business trip and that they’re sorry that he can’t come but that he wouldn’t want to come anyways because it’s boring.

Their fondest memory?

Meeting the gang, telling the gang his plan to get them all out of their terrible situations- Those are the best.

Their worst memory?

Probably when he made an attempt. He definitely regrets doing that.

Alcohol, blood, rotten/cold/both pizza.

Leroy? Subconsciously. Other than that though… Probably the houses in his neighborhood, they all look nice on the outside. He’s never really been anywhere else and pictures from the rare postcards he gets from his family have kind of ruined the idea of traveling to see new sights for him.

Physical? Uh. Being near anything that could cause him to relapse or his friends not being safe. Abstract? Relapsing and failing his friends.

To make his loved ones safe, happy, and mentally stable. So far, he’s pretty sure he’s failing. But that’s fine, because he’ll fix it. Somehow.

Do they have a fatal weakness?

Multiple. Like his belief that sudoku could fix literally anything. Or how he would rather pretend he doesn’t have any problems and avoid all mention of said problems than face them whatsoever. Or even the fact that he would die for his loved ones without any hesitation. That would be literally fatal.

How do they react to criticism, praise, or other judgments cast on them?

They react to praise with a fair amount of confusion, sarcasm, and faked arrogance. As for criticism- Sarcasm, slight annoyance, and indifference. Usually.

Not really, he’d easily let his friends win just to see them smile because that’s win enough for him.

Uh, yeah. But the only one he really counts is Evie. Purely metaphorical life saving- Kind of. Not physically literal, at least.

His ideas, ideals, and his friends’ safety/happiness.

Not really strangers. He’ll trust his friends, but at hints of red flags? He can drop them fairly quickly.

Yeah. His mother and father. He doesn’t hate them, he just wishes they were as good at parenting as they are at their jobs.

Nabih can get along with almost anyone, so no one is really unlikely- Except for maybe TJ, Aries, or Cal.

Empty house, quiet everything, loud thoughts, busy parents, and absolute boredom. Yeah, that basically explains everything.

Someone they love? Yell.

To help those around him as much as he can. To be successful in whatever he does.

Nope, in both directions. He is profusely against bullying and discrimination of any kind.

Whenever he first started smoking, so that he wouldn’t go down that rabbit hole. Or get his group together sooner so they didn’t have to suffer for as long.

“Does this actually work? Oh, also- Will my loved ones ever be safe and happy and okay?”

What advice would they give their younger self?

“It doesn’t matter that your parents aren’t around most of the time, eventually you’ll meet people that truly care about you. Try and not make any bad decisions in the meantime though.”

People that mistreat his friends.

Where do they go when they’re angry?

In the past? Wherever his bad decisions were made. Nowadays? To his own notebook or phone so he can just do a sudoku puzzle.

Watching his friends? Yeah, he enjoys it plenty for the most part… Well- Not enjoy. He likes being around them though.

What are some of their past jobs?

He hasn’t had a job before, his family is well off enough.

Anything concerning technology. Oh, and reading into people’s behavior.

His intelligence is much higher than most, but he’s never moved up grades due to quite a few reasons.

Well, in town, it was very messy and empty. He was basically the only person ever there.

Conflicted. He’s been told to gain weight, he’s been told to lose weight, he’s been told that he has plenty of weight that can be used instead of food- And then there’s always the scars too, which shows what he’s been able to survive but they also just don’t help his appearance much.

With strangers? Paranoid and usually however they’re expecting him to act. With friends? Depends on who the friend group is. Loyal, trusting, loyal to the point of submissive- You know, the usual.

He’s more stoic… Usually.

Unfortunately, rather recently.

Somewhere in the middle, honestly. Probably closer to being an introvert though.

Pessimistic. Very pessimistic. And nihilistic.

Nope. He will accept literally anyone as long as he trusts them.

Anything that reminds him of better times, basically. This sad is better though.

Not much. Having his trust and loyalty be stomped on. (Not like that’ll stop him from still giving out said trust and loyalty.)

For those he cares for to be safe and protected.

He displays his affections the same, with unending loyalty no matter what happens. He would lay down his life anyone he cares about with no hesitation.

Despite how much he wants to say no… He does. And he’s never open about his jealousy either.

Badly. He tries to act all nonchalant, but he’s really just waiting for the right moment to try and figure out what he did wrong to cause that rejection.

Confused, doubtful, but if he trusts them- What’s the harm? Fake those feelings until you have those feelings, right?

Not at all. He’s confident in his fighting ability, but that’s about all.

Forgiving, as long as he at one point had trusted you, to the point of giving out ten million chances at the very least.

His reputation is extremely different in certain circles. He doesn’t know how the gang views him, for example. He does know that he’d like to be perceived as what he is.

Yes and no. Depends on what. But mostly yes. He will try hard his way to being the best if he ever loses anything.

Yeah, and he doesn’t know whether to thank them or hate them.

Depends on who’s doing the threatening and who/what they’re threatening.

Haha, no. He trusts literally no one except for friends and loved ones. And then he’s so trusting that he would never think to question them.

Basically anything that has to do with fighting. They do have quite a bit of expertise with knives and swords though.

With respect, loyalty, and complete submission. He’s seen what can happen if he doesn’t listen, and he’s fairly certain that he never wants that again.

One thing? Uh… The negative aspects of his personality that causes him to do stuff the people he cares about don't like.

His family are all dead.

With respect, care, support, jokes, and loyalty.

Nope. Not that he’s aware of, at least. Usually by having to get between two people he cares about.

He can usually get along with almost anyone due to his naturally people-pleasing personality. As for unlikely allies? Jacob, easily.

Just- Filled with death, starvation, fighting, blood, and toxic people. Most of his personality has actually been developed from this stuff.

Don’t betray anyone you care about, listen to and do whatever the people you care about want/need you to, and protect anyone/everyone you care about.

When he was younger, yeah.

He would try with all his might to not let his sister die.

“Keep your sister safe, she matters more than you do.” Or “Don’t leave those you care about, ever, because bad things tend to happen when you do that.”

Not much, to be honest. He hates hating anything that he hates.

Anywhere to be alone.

Uhhh, no current occupation. Except for like, making sure his friends are okay.

Underground fighting rings, along with whatever else he could do to get some money.

Anything that has to do with fighting, he’d say.

Well, let’s think- he got to about first or second grade before he ran away the first time. Then, he resumed school at the orphanage when he was eight or nine. He got to a sixth grade level before running away again. He was taken in eventually and ended up being moved into the year he was supposed to be in after a week of being behind. So, no, he isn’t that much more intelligent than most people, in his opinion.

Hmmm, that’s hard. One where everyone he has ever cared about(yes, everyone) are all safe, happy, protected, and okay. And alive! That’s important too!

Hard to say, not much though. Clothing, and that’s basically all that he uses daily.

Anything given to him. By literally anyone.

Nope. He just thinks there’s going to be a void of nothingness. No color, no nothing. He prefers this, because then he won’t have to face the consequences of his actions.

Ha, nah. This dude is the most atheist person you could ever meet.

Honestly? He doesn’t care, as long as not hurting anyone. But if he had to choose? In a locked, enclosed room where no one would ever find him by blood loss.
