Avros' head fell forward and he sighed.
"He wasn't a radical. Your uncle wasn't going to bring the pack down around his Ruse." He pressed his nose against his daughter's forehead. "I know you'll be a good alpha."
Rousseau stiffened under the alpha's touch. "How do you know?" she growled softly. "He was at least three years older than you. And you weren't exactly close."
Avros paused, eyes tired. "Ruse. The future of a wolf is chosen before their birth. Each path you take is your choice but also already there before you make it. Smolder knew what he wanted from his life and he got it without killing anyone. As I said before, he wasn't a radical. He didn't have the best temper, it's true, but I don't see what that has to account for anything."
