Sometimes, things just won't ever look quite right. That's okay.

something I've found helpful for this is taking a reference photo and putting it in a digital art program. then you decrease the opacity and break the reference down into shapes

That might be half of my problem, every person is different so trying to use a reference for me is really frustrating for me to try and use them, I ant get everything perfect and it makes my brain lose it's mind.
