A streak of light cut through the night sky. A shooting star? A meterioite? Any regular wolf would think so. But... Was it really just such a thing?
Marchosias lifted her dark head, gazing around the cave she'd stumbled upon. Her fur was so black, she made the pitch darkness look light. She made her way down the dark tunnel, golden gaze sharp as she took everything in. Wolves had lived here, long ago.
No... They still Did.
Her fur stood on end as a sickening screaching of claws on stones ripped through the air. A bellow, low and wailing, echoed over the walls. She turned to run, but it was too late. She was pinned by it... By the Monster. His hot sickly breath filled her nostrils, making her want to gag. But then, the creature stepped away. An armor of bone clattered as he paced a circle around her, and his long bone claws tapped and scraped. Marchosias pulled herself to her feet, watching this beast with wary eyes. "Why did you let me live?" She asked. The beast laughed, haggard and raspy, deep in his chest.
"Because I am old and dying, and so are my children. Someone must carry the weight of my armor... And so, I have chosen you, unfortunate traveler. Carry the armor of Boneknapper." he snarled, grinning with malice, beady red eyes glinting.
Marchosias tried to scream, tried to run. But before she could, he struck. And everything went black.
When she woke, she was outside. She knew the beast was dead, she could feel it. But when she stood, the clatter of bone armor still rang in her ears. It was on Her. He had seared his armor to her very skin, just as it had been to his. How painful it must have been, to rip it from his own body. But now... Now she was trapped in it. In the legacy of the demon in the tunnels. She lifted her head, and let out a long, wailing howl.
