"You better become strong, stronger than any other wolf in my pack. I give you three years. If you fail, I'll rip you to pieces."
These were Atramentum's first words to the recruited pup. The pack suffered from famine, and she didn't have time or food for any new members, especially pups. Something about the pup still made her change her mind. Maybe it was his outstanding pelt, small size, or determined nature.
Lichen worked himself close to death, and at 3 years old he was the strongest wolf in the pack, stronger than any wolf the pack had ever seen. Atramentum was pleased. The famine was gone, and he became the beta male.
When Atramentum became an elder, she gave most of her power as an alpha to Lichen. She would stay as the decision maker and tactician, but Lichen would be the physical and charismatic force of the pack.
As an alpha Lichen is very gentle. He likes training and advising hunters and pups.
He left his position as an alpha to Aterrimus. His son and daughter were left to the pack to become great hunters.
His mate is Flamma.
