Zeus was not born into leadership—he took it.
Under a sky split with lightning, deep within the frost-lined valleys of the northern ranges, Zeus entered the world as the only surviving pup of a fallen Alpha. His birth was seen as an omen—some believed he was destined for greatness, others whispered he would bring ruin. From the beginning, survival shaped him. Harsh winters, rival packs, and internal betrayal hardened him into something far more than an ordinary wolf.
As a young wolf, Zeus was relentless. He trained harder, fought smarter, and observed everything. He learned not just how to overpower his enemies, but how to outthink them. His black coat made him nearly invisible in the night, earning him the nickname “Shadow Fang” among neighboring packs.
The Crystal Dawn Pack, once strong and noble, had fallen into disorder under a weak Alpha who ruled through fear instead of respect. Zeus challenged him at just three winters old—young, but already formidable. The battle was brutal and swift. Zeus didn’t just win; he proved something far more important: he was willing to fight for a better future, not just power.
From that day on, Zeus became Alpha.
Zeus had long believed that strength meant solitude.
As Alpha of the Crystal Dawn Pack, he ruled with unshakable authority, his name carried on the wind like a warning. No wolf dared challenge him anymore, and no bond had ever come close to breaking the walls he built around himself. To Zeus, attachment was a weaknesssomething that could be used against him.

It was early dawn, the hour when the world hovered between shadow and light. Zeus had gone alone to patrol the far edge of his territory, where the forest thinned into frost-touched cliffs. That was when he caught her scentsharp, unfamiliar, and undeniably powerful.

Zelda.
She emerged from the mist like a force of natureher coat shimmering in pale silver and ash, eyes bright with intelligence and defiance. She was no ordinary wolf. She carried herself like a leader, every step deliberate, every movement controlled. An Alpha.
Their first meeting was not gentle.
Zelda had not come to submit, and Zeus had no intention of yielding ground. Words were few, tension thick. Their circling turned to a clashteeth, strength, and instinct colliding in a test neither of them could avoid. But what began as a fight did not end in victory or defeat.

and did not need him.

Their encounters became frequentsometimes by coincidence, sometimes not. What began as rivalry evolved into something far more complex. They tested each other constantly: hunting side by side one day, clashing in heated dominance disputes the next.
But beneath the tension, something undeniable grew.
Respect came first.
Then trustslow, hard-earned, and fragile.
And finally, something neither of them could outrun.
The mate bond.
Zeus resisted it at first. He saw it as a loss of control, a crack in the armor he had spent his entire life building. But Zelda did not try to break his wallsshe simply stood strong enough that he no longer needed them as much.
