I have a family member that was very big into Catahoula dogs, and got theirs from a respectable breeder, didn't listen to anything the breeder said, and the dog became a nightmare >-< I really hated it. The poor dog is an outside dog now, and is just always in a kennel and has heartworms.

A lot of the owners you see that have specific breeds that aren't well trained, I find get their dogs from backyard breeders. Most professional breeders ensure that training/vet/spay/neuter contracts are in place before they let anybody go home with an animal.

Wagyu Yeah, I used to foster as well. I'm big on the "If you aren't ready and knowledgeable" about the birth process, what it looks like, the lineage of the parents, and aren't prepared or have standard vet care before hand, that all of your animals should be spayed. Not only does it increase the kitten and puppy crisis, but most backyard breeders don't vaccinate or deworm their animals, and they have tons of behavioral issues.

We were trying to wait til she was a little older to breed her. We wanted a litter just not this soon. We quickly got everything we needed though for her and her puppies and everything's going good

The only time I didn't get my animals spayed was my inbred cat, because she was ridiculously small, and being inbred had more susceptibility to death during surgery.

Apo Backyard breeding? Because I used to foster pups and 90% were a result of BYB not getting sales.

Last time I dealt with a pregnant dog I was like 8 and didnt really know too much of what I was doing.

It sounds like you guys should've gotten her spayed xD accidents can't happen if they can't get pregnant.
Cypress Road
Apoth Accidental. My parents were away and I was at work and my brother was dumb and let our male out with her while sheer was in heat despite being told multiple times not to.

By the time worms would cause bloating, you would see them in the feces, pregnancy by the time you see bloating, in dogs at least, their teats get big, and they start dropping xD
Beachbeagle
Backyard breeding is one of my top three horror stories omg...
Cypress Road
And the vet said no later the 11th when we took her to see how many

Apo, yeah sometimes dogs take extra time? I think cats are the same way. My kittens came out like 5 days after they were due O-o so I think cyborgs mama dog just needed some more time, lmao
Apothecary
The signs of pregnancy in dogs and worms are very different, was this an accidental or backyard breeding? It doesn't seem like your mom was very prepared.
