Biography
Dustpup stared out of the wire cage as the Monster bustled down the dirt road. She coughed on dust and scooted to the back of the small cage. Soon the Monster stopped, and her cage was carried to a Twoleg nest, where another Twoleg peered in at her. She shrank back with a whimper. After a minute or two, she was taken around to a fenced area and put down. The Twoleg shut the gate and left her there, lying in direct sunlight.
Soon she began to pant. The heat grew intense, and her furry pup coat didn't help at all. She let out a mournful howl and jumped at the cage wall.
This went on for two days, and she had no water and no food. Weakened, she lie whimpering. When she heard voices outside the wooden fence, her red ears perked.
"Hello?" she asked, standing up. "I-Is someone there?" Her tail wagged hopefully.
"Hold on," a voice said. "We're coming to get you out. Stay quiet."
Wagging her creamy ringed tail, she sat down, watching as dust began to swirl around the base of one of the wooden slats. Soon a hole had been dug under the fence, and a wolf slithered through. The pup jumped up in excitement.
"Get me out!" she yelped, glancing over her shoulder.
"Just a second," the she-wolf said. She clawed at the wire and finally just snapped the lock and bent the wire lock down. The pup burst out.
"Thank you!" she cried breathlessly.
"Come on," the ginger she-wolf said, hurrying her through the hole. The forest outside was dense. The wolf picked up the puppy and ran swiftly into it.
The wolf turned out to be the leader, Amberstar - much to the surprise of the puppy, who was named Dustpup. Dustpup was apprenticed to Amberstar, who took a liking to her.
