"I cant see anything? Rapid Shade? Mom dad? Where are you?"
a wolf looks around a valley of ash and debris, her eyes void of color,

two wolves play running around playing with each other, nearby two older wolves watch
the younger wolf jumps on his sister knocking the reddish female over, his sister yelps flipping her younger brother off before pinning him,
his blue-brown eyes full of joy and playfulness
as he pushes her off, before their mother calls them to her,
his sister stops looking to the nearby mountains,
"Leaping Petal?" he asks as the other wolf shakes her head,
"Yes"she asks looking to her brother"you know mom said the mountains are not safe"he says
she nods.

as they gather to eat all bow their heads to pray as for eons all did to keep the demons at bay the ones that sleep under the mountain,
before eating
Later that night the older wolf wakes to hearing her voice "Leaping Petal" As she follows it she soon encounters a wolf his fur pale as if made from the moon, "who are you" she asks
"Cloudy Tree, once I lived here long long ago before the demons woke before the flames came and all turned to smoke, "the male rasps.
"I was left covered and burned now Its my job to warn all "he adds, Leaping Petal looks to the ghost unsure of what to say,
"be warned someday soon the prayers will not be enough" Cloudy Tree adds before vanishing

the wolf heads back to sleep only to see another wolf her fur that of ash eyes vacant and dull, "its a pitty one must fall to please them, its the only way" she says,
when morning comes the wolf wakes looking to her family
"Mom can I ask what if the demons awaken" she asks "my dear that has not happened for centuries, "her mom says smiling,
if only she'd known maybe all would be alright and her daughter would not have been given a new role,

as dawn falls the wolf sees her brother knowing what may come feeling as if the wood's spirits where trying to warn her heads to see if there may be a way to save them,
not knowing he follows her to the ancestors cave,
were the ghost from her dreams stands " we have visitors " a blind elder says, "come forward both of you "he adds
confused she looks around only to see him there,
"Rapid shade?"she says.
"why are you here "Rapid Shade asks", "I fear the demons will awaken soon"she mutters, as the ghostly wolves look one speaks up " there is nothing to do we tried with even a soul but alas the flames came turning wolves to stone".
"there still may be time for the quaking of the ground is the warning to get out"the elder says looking to the wolves
as Rapid Shade looks to them her eyes fill with fear"we have had ground shakes more often "she mutters.
the elders look down all of their faces sorrowful as the one in front speaks up "I'm sorry young ones may be to late "she says,

as they exit Leaping Petal looks to the mountain "I could go up and look see if there's flames "she says
"its almost a weeks trip "her brother says,
"tell mom and dad warn them go to the sanctuary"she says
the male nods heading to wake the older wolves up

as she runs through the woods only one thing drives her the knowing that she must save them, once near the slope that's when the smell of toxic fumes fill the air the land looks different.
starting her climb she soon feels warm rocks under her paws when the ground shakes and shakes the wolf moved faster only to hear a thundering boom a cloud of ash raining all around, continuing up, was the choice that sealed her fate and closed her off it was much too late, as the cascade of stones hurled down she only hoped that they were safe,
silently whispering before it came, that they would all be safe

a ghostly wolf her fur turned to stone that of a tree and plants where she tried to hide and hopefully make it out of the flow alive
sadly turned to stone like those before trapped in ash, left as a statue the trees and land leveled by the rocks,
flames and smoke fill the sky, rivers of flames flow behind

her eyes now vacant turned to ice, she joins Cloudy tree as a warning to those and trapped to the slopes were the demons awoke,

Stone Petal once alive turned to crystals now stands the test of time for no one saw those stumps of rock once alive gone now
