Yngvar was never supposed to be King. His blood was old, very old. He was a descendent of Storm Father and Wind Mother. They were the very first King and Queen of the Kingdom Of Living. However, after years and years, his line had been all but forgotten. A King and Queen of a new bloodline had been chosen and he was no longer heir. Still, he had been born into the pack, and grew up with their pups. He attended them as they learned, fought alongside them as they played. As he reached adulthood, Yngvar began to surpass his peers, becoming a talented hunter and battle wolf. This might have been all that life had given Yngvar, but a violent natural catastrophe ripped across the land on the night the next Alpha King was to be crowned. Yngvar was the only young male to survive. Thus, he ascended to the throne, exceeding every wolfÂ’s expectations. He could not have known how right it was that he was King. No one could. The scrolls of lineage had been lost years ago in a fire that had burned away the records. He took the mate of the previous King to be his own. Her name was Iseult, a cream and brown she wolf. All seemed to be well. But it was not. The illness that had swept the fact years before had made most survivors sterile. His subjects began to die out. Until only his mate, Queen Iseult, and Chancellor Njörðr remained. He sent his mate on a mission to find new wolves for the pack and she returned with two pups to be their heirs: a male named Piaras and a female named Thora. She also returned with a female named Aisling, who would be Priestess and a male named Bricius who would be a knight. Yngvar became a great King once more and the pack entered a time of peace. Against all odds, his Queen became with pup and together they had the Princess Virva, a disappointing and ugly pup in his eyes. He treated Piaras as his son. Yngvar was no longer young, and neither was Iseult. So to his great reluctance he stepped down with his mate.

Yngvar is a strong wolf, known throughout the land for his courage and honesty no matter how harsh. He has always treated others fairly, except for those who threatened him or his pack. Because of his lowly beginning, Yngvar tries to attempts to treat all wolves equally, knowing anyone could become the next King. Upon first seeing his true born heir, Princess Virva, he scowled and growled with anger, even going so far as to claim that wasn'’t his pup, though they were clearly related. Female blue roans are the most undesirable of wolves and her coloration made her undesirable. Piaras could have chosen Virva over Thora, despite Thora being the sought out heir but Virva's appearance made her shunned. Though he cared for Iseult, Yngvar often bred with other wolves outside the pack, fathering many pups. Even though he had great respect, love, and pride for Piaras who he raised as his own, he hated Piaras had not chosen Virva to be his mate, and had hated to step down from his position as King. Yngvar had wanted to die King. He fought his reassignment as a Duke tooth and claw, but eventually conceded, stepping down reluctantly.
