Did you max their battle, resolve, agility, and composure? I find my wolves with just BAR maxed are less effective at taking bears down

But my quest luck is actually quite nice so far.
Even the PvP one has some decent rewards so I'm just going to let that sit there until Amy comes online then do it in one shot lol
