Biography
From the time she was a pup, Eudora looked up to her elder sister, Cora. Cora Maurea, daughter of Cara Lawrencia Ceren. Cara was one of the few wolves in her bloodline to choose the path of a warrior--and was tutored especially by her great-grandmother Beyza--who in turn had been tutored by her great-grandmother Bronica. They descended from Nyx Embers and Commander Aurelius. Theirs was a proud bloodline--but with only a few great warriors. Cora and Eudora were special, in that they were the first pair of surviving siblings in their bloodline in eight generations--since Bronica and her brother Garrus were born. It seemed that the Moon Goddess decided to renew her favor on their bloodline, as she had blessed their ancestors with the birth of Nyx, the goddess's namesake. Cora and Eudora's mother had a favorite--and it was not Cora as one might suspect. Cara saw Cora as a rival and her more lovely replacement, born with eyes the color of the Golden Glass Sea's tide pools. Cora both loved and hated her mother--and sought to force others to give her the attention she craved. This came in the form of an infatuation with the handsome Colden Dusk. Colden liked Cora, but he loved Eudora's companionship best. He suffered Cora's attention and settled for her matehood as Eudora never confessed her feelings. Cora became pregnant with Colden's pup, a large litter. Cora, desiring to please her mother in all things--would not heed her mother's warning to stay away from battle while carrying her pups. Cora took the Moon Goddess's blessing for granted--boasting she would bear 4 stupendous warriors. The Goddess's ire was raised, and in her arrogance, Cora was kicked in the stomach, knocking the wind--and life out of her. She lost all four pups. Colden's heart turned cold, and he mated with an outsider, who bore him a daughter named Danica Equinox. Colden expected Cora to adopt Danica. Cora, in her vulnerability and grief, did so. However, she swore never to mate with Colden again. Eudora attempted to be a bridge between the two, comforting both. Her gentleness did not go unnoticed. The gods-gifted Prince of his generation--so much so that Prince Aemond Gideon suspected he might be usurped if Davide took notion--had been watching her. Davide already had a mate, the Princess Larissa Larksong. However, their mating was of allyship and shared parentage of their daughter, the Princess Nimue. Nimue was Eudora's age. The gap between Davide and Eudora was hardly noteworthy in the scheme of things. Nimue was favored, adored, and already secured a mate and bore a pup of her own, very young. However, Eudora was often regulated to the sidelines, and rarely interacted with wolves outside of the alcove she shared and her close blood relatives. Eudora felt little sense of self-worth, though she had gifts of her own. No one had ever bothered to train her. Davide offered her that opportunity. With him, she opened her mind, and he shared a side of himself not granted with anyone else. He had his own softness. He listened to her silence. Eudora believed over time, she might have a future with him--as he had told her that he and Larissa had not been lovers--ever. Eudora knew what it was to be passed over. She did not trust Davide with her heart first. They shared one softly sun-filled day behind a waterfall. She soon concieved. When Cora first learned of Eudora's pregnancy, she was enraged--believing that Colden was the father. Although the fight was resolved, Davide took Eudora away into their den. Davide, Eudora, Larissa, Nimue, and Lanval all lived together--the latter three sleeping together. There was no awkwardness, though things remained neutral between Eudora and Larissa. After all, Eudora could not prevent the quiet jealousy that broke into her heart that Davide mated with a female she found more beautiful. Nor could Larissa prevent the prick at her pride that Davide sought the company of a much younger wolf. Still, Eudora and Davide were happy. It is to the author's gladness to report that Eudora and Cora also made up with one another.
