The flames closed in around them, chasing her pack away from their home. She followed dutifully, herding stragglers away from the fire. The morning saw them safe but as she sought to follow, her alpha growled and sent her away. She wasn't alone as many young wolves were banished from the pack. With no where to go she returned to her home. The ash fell lightly on her coat but she paid it no mind, the heat was welcome to her. She padded passed the bluff where her den was hidden and came upon a young male. His scent was foreign and she growled to chase him away. His eyes narrowed at her actions and he strode forward. As they stood face to face, she could read the confusion and longing in his eyes. She melted into his gaze and was filled with desire herself. She quickly licked his face and darted back to her den, eagerly listening for his fast approaching footsteps.
With her new pups to manage, Tinder is always busy. One will disappear, then another will get stuck in a tree, while the third slinks off in search of trouble. She knows she would never manage without Ferrous's watchful eye. She envies his ability to know where the pups are at all times and how he keeps them out of trouble, often marching them back to her with ears and tails down. It's those times she knows they'll be alright and that for another day they're safe.
