The she wolf sat in her den surrounded by roses in full bloom, a reminder of the beauty that still existed in the world, even as dust clouds gathered on the distant horizon.
The wolf had spent her days out in the open since the dust clouds first appeared in her pup year. Other wolves had panicked, seeking refuge in their dens when the dust clouds went swirling by, but she had been fascinated by these clouds knowing they had their own beauty, she was always determined to wait out the storm.
At first, when she was a pup her parents had been worried about her fascination about those clouds, but as she started growing they realized that it was the way she was. She had always refused to give into fear, she found solace in the roses that she had collected and planted outside the den, telling others that everything was alright.
As days passed, she watched as the dust clouds swept away, covering, the very places she once played around with her siblings. But she knew times changed, that it too would soon pass, and that life would eventually return to normal.
So she surrounded herself with roses while dust clouds gathered, as a reminder that beauty and hope can survive even in the midst of the beauty of destruction.
