I full disagree with backyard breeding, and yes, I was getting her for free.

I originally had a feeling that she was that sort of person given any sort of video she would send me, the kitten and what I can only assume is mama, was always outside.

I do plan on taking serious precautions - I can afford the vet bills if need be and I'd be more than willing if it meant giving the kitten a loving and safe environment.

Character Description

Biography
Briarkit was the only kit in their litter. Their mother, Goldenstone, stayed in the nursery with them while their other parents, Spidertail and Sparrowstar, visited frequently. Spidertail struggled with a toxic friendship with Smokemuzzle, while Sparrowstar struggled with the twolegs that seemed to encroach further into the territory each day.

Smokemuzzle visited sometimes. Goldenstone always seemed uncomfortable around her, but Briarkit never understood why. She was polite and never mean.

When Briarpaw became an apprentice of MartenClan, Sparrowstar chose Smokemuzzle as their mentor. At first, she continued to seem nice. Eventually, however, she began to show a darker side. Once, while seeing a distant twoleg cutting down trees, Smokemuzzle turned to her apprentice and told them that it was disloyalty that caused this.

As time went on, this side of her became more and more prominent. She blamed members of her own Clan for perceived disloyalty, saying that this was a punishment from StarClan. She saw cats who valued outsiders as equal to the Clans as traitors and Clan members who weren't Clanborn as weak.

By this point, Briarpaw's parents had had another litter. Briarpaw had four younger siblings: Snailkit, Trilliumkit, Asterkit, and Heronkit. They played with them frequently and became quite close to them.

Eventually, they became a warrior. They received the name Briarsong, with their kindness and determination honoured. Briarsong began avoiding Smokemuzzle, wanting no part in their xenophobia but not yet ready to tell Sparrowstar about it.

Shortly after becoming a warrior, their younger sister, Asterkit, died of greencough. A few moons later, Snailpaw, Trilliumpaw, and Heronpaw became apprentices.

To Briarsong's horror, all three new apprentices quickly became close to Smokemuzzle. They finally told Sparrowstar, who was shocked but said he couldn't do much without evidence.

Briarsong eventually convinced Snailpaw of Smokemuzzle's more sinister side, but Trilliumpaw was unsure and Heronpaw accused them of being jealous of the time he was spending with her. The apprentices eventually got their warrior names: Snailstream, Trilliumblaze, and Heronheart.

At this point, Briarsomg was starting to give up hope on Trilliumblaze and Heronheart. Still, they were shocked and horrified when they came across Heronheart standing beside Sparrowstar with bloodstained paws.

The Clan quickly fell apart. Smokemuzzle talked Sparrowstar's successor, Rowanshade, into not blaming Heronheart before she'd even received her nine lives.

The Clan was quickly split between Briarsong's supporters, Smokemuzzle's supporters, and many small groups and individuals of neither side. In the end, Smokemuzzle had caused the fate she feared so greatly.

Briarsong stayed with Rowanshade, Spidertail, Snailstream, and Raccoonfoot. The small group slowly died off or split up until Briarsong was all that was left of a once powerful Clan.

They lived alone for a few years after that. They'd gotten old by then, about elder aged, but there was no leader to perform the ceremony or apprentices to bring them prey. Various colonies let them say briefly as they travelled with no purpose through the land they'd once known.

Eventually, they stayed with Echowave and Yowl. Echowave had also been part of MartenClan, having been a kit when the Clan fell apart. She'd lived with her family as loners. They'd hoped that the Clan would rebuild, so she and her littermates were given apprentice and, eventually, warrior names.

Echowave had given up long ago on the Clan ever reforming, and hadn't given her own kits Clan names. One of them, however, was fascinated in the stories Briarsong told her of the old Clan. Her name was Shrike. The two became close during the stay and, when Briarsong left, Shrike asked to go with them to become their apprentice. Briarsong agreed and renamed them Shrikepaw.

While training Shrikepaw, Briarsong met another young cat, Squirrel. He was also fascinated in Clan culture and eventually asked to be their apprentice as well.

Shrikepaw and Squirrelpaw eventually received the warrior names of Shriketalon and Squirrelheart. Not long after, Goldenstone appeared in one of Briarsong's dreams. She told her daughter that Squirrelheart should become leader, not of MartenClan but of its successor, SquirrelClan. After receiving his nine lives, Squirrelstar finally preformed the ceremony to allow Briarsong to become an elder.

Not long after that, three abandoned kits were found at the edge of the territory. Briarsong named them Maplekit, Stormkit, and Nightkit. They became apprentices, Maplepaw and Nightpaw training as warriors while Stormpaw trained as SquirrelClan's first healer. They eventually received the full names of Maplefang and Nightglow.

Briarsong is calm, patient, and wise. They love to talk about their old pack, FerretClan, and often seem sad and a bit distant. Their pack treats them with respect and love, which they return.

They often feel like they can't control anything around them and feel useless. They hide their insecurities to help their Clan.

Now that a new Clan's been made, they've stepped back from leading it. They're content to watch the kits and help gather herbs, leaving the hunting and fighting to younger, stronger cats.
