"No Mans Land?" Jack scoffed.

"Yeah?" Horror challenged. His black eyes narrowed, and the two males glared at each other, half expecting the other to attack.

"This," Jack looked around the barren wasteland, a slight smirk creeping upon his lips. "This is nothing compared to the horrors that I've endured. You lot got it good here."

Horror sneered. "You rat, you've got no idea what we've endured. This place is not meant for life, and yet we have strived in it."

"Strived?" Jack looked the scrawny alpha male up and down. "I think the term you're looking for is survived. If the rest of your pack looks as bad as you do, then maybe you guys do deserve some compensation for your little wasteland." Jack let out a snorty laugh.

"Oh?" Horror approached Jack. His muscles rippled beneath his pelt as he stepped closer to the intruder, and each fur tip bristled with rage that built bigger and bigger with every second. The intensity charged the thick air, growing heavier and heavier. Horrors voice was a low, yet powerful grumble.

"You think this is a game? We've fought to our last dying breath to live here. You're lucky that I haven't skinned you alive yet."   Horrors black eyes, though a pure void, seemed to house a raging red fire inside them, and Jack could have sworn he saw a glint of ember in them; no, a bomb go off inside them. Jack unknowingly kinked his tail between his legs, and took a step back, starting to realize the gravity of the situation that he accidentally got himself into.

"That's right, pup. Show some damn respect to me. You want to know why they call me Horror?"

Jack gulped.

"Because I am the embodiment of fear. I strike panic into even the oldest, wisest of creatures. I am death, destruction, and despair; I am the anxiety that hangs in the back of your mind. You don't scare me, but I can tell that I scare you." Horror glared down at Jack, who had involuntarily crouched toward the floor, appearing smaller than ever before.

Horror paused, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes as he watched the intruder tremble in fear.

"Whatever you experienced in your life before, is nothing compared to what I could do to you right now. You've never experienced true fear until you face me. I am the alpha, the conqueror, I am the end. And you, pup, are nothing but a speck of ash compared to me.

For a moment, there was nothing but silence. Horrors patrol stood silently as they listened to their alphas monologue, his terrible words looming over each and every one of them.

It was quiet in the field. The wind had silenced itself for Horror, making room for his presence. The grass and what trees stood were still, and so it seemed even the once chirping birds were scared of Horror, as they had fled. The air was heavy, and the two male wolves still stared at each other.
