During the fall, Coast was born to the Beta and his mate. While still nursing, she found 10 mushrooms. Her juvenile year was spent hunting in the mountains. In the fall of that year, she and an outsider male named Shade produced Benthos. That was when she and her son moved with Talen pack from the desert to the mountains. Coast killed the pack's first rhinoceros in the spring, being the last explorer standing when all the rest had fled. In the summer of her fourth year, Coast's mother passed away. During the fall, she became the first wolf of Talen pack to defeat Hati in battle. During the spring of Coast's sixth year, the pack moved from the desert to the jungle. This was when she became the first wolf of Talen pack to defeat Skoll in battle. The following spring, her father passed away to illness. During the fall of Coast's eighth year, the pack moved from the jungle to the swamp. That season, she became the first wolf of Talen pack to kill a water moccasin. That season, she became the first wolf of Talen pack to kill a sandhill crane. In the summer of her twelfth year, the pack moved from the swamp to the forest. That fall, she became the first wolf of Talen pack to kill a brown bear. During the spring, she led the pack in a hunt alongside her fallen grandfather. Next spring, she found pottery shards. During the summer, she became the first wolf of Talen pack to wish on the north star. That fall, her daughter Mist was born by an outlander named Spade. In the summer, her daughter Moon was born by an outlander named Vicarious. In the spring, Coast caught lupine parvovirus.
