Biography
My name is Dist L'enfes. I am a fighter. A leader. And a survivor. Cursed with my size and blessed by my powers I lead my pack to victory. The stars rained from the sky the night I was born, and my mother sang softly to me, trying to disguise her pain, the pain that meant she was dying. She had been in great pain in my labor, and days later it became evident she would no recover. Rain dripped outside our little cave, and my father sat watch outside. "I will pass, young one." My mother said in sorrow, "but I will be with you always. Do you see your pelt? You are not like any other. You shall be able to commune with the wolves of the stars for all of your days." And so I was. My mother passed just after her words were spoken, but I can hear and see her to this day. It was as my mother died that my father burst inside. When he saw her lying dead, he snarled at me. "You murderer! You killed her." He spat. He drove my from the safety of the den, and from the miles away where I took shelter I could still hear him howling his grief. It was then that I heard my mothers voice again, despite her departure. "He has no love for you, but you robbed him of nothing. Chance is a game, and we have lost, but no fault is it of any wolf." She promised me. I wept for my lost family as I padded through the rain. After hours of searching I found a little den surrounded by pine trees, and collapsed into a deep sleep. I heard them long before they reached me. They were weak and tired, yelping in pain. I sprang to a shadow as they came upon my cave, flooding in for shelter. "Who's there?" I growled, and several shrank back in fear. "We were weary ones taking shelter," a brave female stepped from the center, "Who are you, and may we share your company?" She asked. I stepped out from behind my rock and heard murmurs circulate through the ragged group. "He speaks with the fallen," I heard from some, "He's so small!" Said others. The she-wolf spoke after some silence "where do you dwell, little one? Have you no family?" She asked. "My mother died in labor," I replied, "my father drove me out in his bitterness." Sympathetic whispers rang through the cave quietly, I saw the she-wolf's eyes soften. "Come with us. We may be ragged, but we shall be strong once more. Join us in good company as we travel over the mountains." She said. And I did. And T'was so that my pack began, the first pawstep on our forested run to greatness.
