Biography
In a time before modern creation, there was only the daring life of an animal. You were either prey or predator, a simple time. Not a lot of safe areas existed but there was one, sheltered by rocks and water it was where a large pack of wolves called home. The Sandy Border. Rexasaurus was born here, off in the rocky area close to the shallows of the water. His family was his tribe, excited for his and his sisters grand entry into the world. He was born as a twin but his sister and he were quite opposite in fact.
The tribe spoiled the two of them, Rex and his sister were the first pups of the season and quite frankly it had been a long while since the last pups were born.
The tribeÂ’s eldest, Ethereal, took to teaching the new young ones about the history of the tribe as they grew, like how to hunt near or in the rapid water waves to get fish. How the tribe worshiped a sea god for giving them plenty of fish every season, giving the tribe the twins, and even protecting them from great storms that would often occur. He even took it upon himself to teach them of the prophecy that he was taught when he himself was a young pup. That being that the sea god would rise one day, bearing the skin of a tribe member, protecting them from a greater threat. This prophecy sparked two things during its creation. Firstly, the water rune stone the tribe kept to pray around and secondly, two small silver heirlooms gifted to them by the sea god himself. They were identical silver serpent ear pieces, marking a wolf who was strong enough to bear the god.
Rex and his sister learned a lot from Ethereal as they grew but no wolf lives forever and there would come a time when Ethereal would have his grand send off. That time was when Rex was about complete with his training, when he would be deemed an adult and could go places on his own. Tragedy struck, taking Ethereal down with it. A monsoon had appeared almost overnight, not even a sea god could quell its winds and it had scooped him up before almost instantly spitting him right back out before he could join the tribe in the safety of the rocks. Ethereal had ended up landing against a tree, it was quite a brutal death for the elder. This struck a chord with Rex, what god would be so cruel as to let a death such as EtherealÂ’s happen?
The tribe mourned their elder, building a raft to drift his body out to sea where he could be at peace for the rest of his afterlife. Rex sat at the water rune stone, praying for a change in the ways of tribe life. The stone hummed gently with energy as it always did but then it did something new. Something no one in the tribe had seen in any of their lifetimes. The rune on the stone began to glow a deep blue, ever so slightly blinking as if contacting someone or maybe something? Rex stayed at the stone all night, watching for anything to try and protect his pack but nothing came and he did eventually grow tired enough to fall into slumber.
Within his own mind and dream, a voice whispered. He couldnÂ’t make anything out, it all sounded like an abandoned dialect or gibberish. When Rex awoke he felt slightly different, it took him a moment to realize his surroundings. His tribe was bowing to him, his sister was next to him looking just as confused. His ear twitched and thatÂ’s when it all connected. He felt the serpent piece, the one meant only for those who could bare the god himself. The god whispered in RexÂ’s head and this time he understood. "Call upon me in times of need, evil awaits for thee. If you succeed, your home will be the sea." The god had chosen him and his sister to be their tribe's saviors.
