The first thing Marian remembered was her mum clawing her birth sac open, and air rushing into her little nostrils. She gave a small mewl of happiness as her mother wolf picked her up and nestled her close to the curve of her belly, next to her big brother. "Lupus... what's wrong with that one?" Rianne pointed at Marian with one of her claws. Oona gulped. "Both of my parents... Razuka and Priam... are Chimera. I think she is too." She began licking the fire red fur of Marian's face. "I think she's beautiful. Forest and I produce good pups!" She chuckled. "You produce mistakes." Rianne corrected. Oona didn't respond to the she-wolf's snarky comment. "I think you two are perfect." She curled around her two squirming bundles of fur and drifted into sleep.

Marian crashed happily through the ferns with Garra, her new best friend. She was the only wolf besides Oona who didn't consider her a curse, a pup never meant to be born. "I can't wait for Rianne to have her pups!" Garra's tongue lolled from her jaws. "Pfff, I can. They'll probably just be a bunch of little brats like her." Marian twirled a piece of grass with her paw. "Haha! Don't say that! What if they are nice, like their father?" She took a moment to consider this. "True." These pups would be Marian's half-littermates. It would be nice to have young wolves, brats or not, to lighten up the pack spirit. Marian had drifted into her thoughts when Garra gave her a playful poke to her flank. "Lighten up a little!" She snorted. "It's a beautiful day!" Marian gave a cheeky grin and pounced after her. Garra sprang out of the way and charged through the brush ahead. Marian tore after her, her tongue and flying from her jaws. The two young she wolves blazed through the tall grass. Garra finally exhausted and slowed to a trot. Marian caught up to her, bowling her friend over. Together, they tumbled down the hill, the weeds parting to make way for them. After slowing to a stop, the two laughed and swatted at nearby butterflies. Then and unfamiliar voice broke their fit. "What are you doing here?" A grey-blue male with blazing orange streaks stepped out from the shadows. His face was split in half by the flame coloured fur, and so was his chest. He must be Chimera, Marian thought. "Um... on a joyride, I guess..." her voice trailed off. "Huh?" Grunted the male. On the Asfamoth Pack's territory?" "Hey, handsome." Garra wagged her tail. "Excuse me..." the stranger wolf's voice was stern, but his tail wagged, too. "What's your name?" Garra inquired. "Kafei. My name is Kafei."
