Lasair's ears perked up when a new voice penetrated through his sleep. He'd lived here throughout his entire puphood, and whomever was here now had not been before. He rose, stretched, and yawned. Hopefully theres no trouble, he thought. As Lasair poked his head out the cave, he saw him: a stocky young male stood before Cathon, deep in conversation. "I have much to offer to this pack, my highly Alpha." Lasair bit back a snort of laughter. This wolf was shooting sunshine up his Alphas rear end, trying to appease him. He sat down nearby, watching the scene unfold before him. "I have watched your pack. Seen how great you are. And I want to be part of it." The stranger continued. At this, Cathon's ears twitched. "I think we should hear him out." Liathi sat down beside her mate. Lasair rolled over luxiouriously in the tall grass. If only this poor wolf knew how hard it was to join a pack. But Cathon's next words stunned him. "Pack, hear me. This wolf has proven he has much to offer to our pack. He has taken the oath. Sworn to protect his packmates down to his last drop of blood. I stand before you now and say this: Noamh is one of us now." The pack went up in a frenzy of howls. What? Lasair, shocked, did not join the chorus. How? And at that moment, he saw Noamh walk up to Katahu. "No!" He growled. Katahu giggled at something Noamh had said as he swerved between the two. "Excuse me, newcomer, but me and her have something to... discuss. In private." "Ok..." Noamh grunted. He and Katahu ducked behind a tree. "What are you doing, consorting with him?" He whined. "I thought you liked me." "I still like you!" She yipped. "I can make new friends too, you know." Lasair was going to say something else, but Katahu had taken off and was walking side by side with Noamh, her future mate. Maybe we weren't meant to be. Lasair sighed as he watched the pair walk into the sunset.
