Preface: When Ares was a young pup, a wildfire had ravaged his homeland. In their haste to escape, Ares' pack had lost some of their packmates and kin, including Ares half brother...
Ares stalked the woods. He could smell his prey, their fear was ripe and his blood boiled in excitement. The lovely stage stood their, aware that something was there but was unable to determine the threat it posed... But Ares' true quarry was the other wolf that was crouched in the undergrowth due west of him. Ares was further downwind than the other wolf and caught his scent in the wind. An unfamiliar wolf. A rival. Ares felt his lips curl into a silent snarl and his eyes flashed with the anticipation a fight. It was a trespasser. Silently, with the ease a practiced predator, he pounced, taking the other male down. They snarled and clawed at each other. After a brief struggle, the other wolf slipped out of Ares' grip and faced him bristling. Ares' intended to pounce and finish the fight, but something gave him pause.... Abruptly, the other wolf stopped growling and a grin broke out on his face. "Hello little brother"...
The stag was long gone. Frightened off from the confrontation between Ares ad his brother. His name was Vulcan, and he had survived, living with the pack of mostly mysteriously black wolves that had rescued him. Ares, who had been growing antsy and bored with living in his current pack, was intrigued. Their father, the Alpha, was an old wolf and in his aging years had grown placid and peace loving, which grated on Ares' ambition and lust for war and conflict. And so, Ares joined his brother as they journeyed down south to his new pack...
Personality:
Ares is ambitious and hot-headed with an explosive temper. He loves nothing more than a good fight. However, his strength and prowess on the battle field is second to none and he possesses the valor and courage needed for battle. His packmates often joke that Ares lived so much for war and conflict, that it had manifested itself in the crimson red of his coat. A coat that attests to his beauty.
