Personality
Deep in a forest on a valley floor the acrid smell of smoke drifted on the air. A pack of primarily black wolves, with the exception of a few others, lounged about their cave. The Alpha, lifted his head as he detected the foreign sent, alarm bells ringing. He padded down to alert his pack. The smell intensified, as did the heat. The Alphas rounded up their pack, some carrying the pups as they fled the area….
The wildfire was spreading quickly. They raced up the mountain out of range from the fire and watched from the safety of the rocky mountainside as the fire burned their home to a crisp. The fire burned well into the night, and the next day the Alpha and some of the other wolves went down to explore the ruins of their home. As they ventured, they heard the soft sound of a whimper coming from the ruins. He ventured and their tucked under a log was a pup, his fur a dark color with swirls of red and orange. His eyes a bright yellow as they looked at him. “Oh my….”, the Alpha was startled. This pup had survived this fire. Born of fire, he thought. He looked at the pup and made up his mind. “Come here little one”, he beckoned. “You shall come with me into my pack... Do you have a name, little one?”. The pup looked at him and shook his head. The Alpha looked at the little pup appraisingly, the pup held his head defiantly, proudly. “... I think Vulcan”.
