Yes! I've worked in customer service for so long and it never gets old seeing that light. I've worked with college students and helping them, and seeing that light come back after talking with them is what pushed me to try and help others

I teach kinder through 6th grade! Since I sub day to day It's always a different class. I do like working with the older kids though cause I can be more real and direct with them haha. No need to beat around the bush, I can just straight up tell them "what are you even doing" instead of being like "oops, I think you made a bad choice!". Though I alose like the younger grades cause they're ususally so loving and sweet. I love when they hug my legs and tell me I'm the best haha

I get what you're saying. I have to drive it, so it feels just like time wasted. I tried getting into audiobooks but I felt sleepy listening. I'm trying to find a job closer to home but it's rough. Enough complaining from me though lol, what grade level do you teach?

I'm usually up early when I sub, it's just that some days are so tiring that I just hit the hay once I'm home. I'm lucky, I have may off-ish, I have jobs here and there but I start work in june through august in a daycare (since schools are closed in summer lol). I used to have super long commutes too, I get the feeling! I read a lot in the bus tho or I studied so I wouldn't "loose the time" (idk how to phrase it in english)

I'm in the US. 6pm? I'm jealous! I go to bed usually around 10:30-11 and I'm up by 6 for my current job T^T I did the math, I'm at work (including commute) for 11 hours a day

I don't know where you are, I'm in Canada so I know the teaching situation is different than in the US. However, as much as I love it, it's quite challenging. It's not always fun nor easy, but sadly I can't bring myself to hate it haha. I find it super rewarding to be able to teach the kiddos but sometimes I go to bed at 6pm after a subbing day haha

Character Description
Biography
For as far as the eye could see, snow had fallen. Although it may have looked like a deceivingly small amount, some areas had accumulated; the extensive blanket of white made it hard to determine depth. Amongst the fresh layers, the snow had also begun to melt; the heat of the spring sun enough to reveal the tawny yellow and brown of dead foliage and the dark greys of schist stone. The caribou herds were returning now that the snow was starting to melt and if one looked carefully while studying such a foreign scene, they might have been lucky enough to spot the carefully calculated, deliberate movement of a lone wolf.

Lillywhirl kept to the melted patches of snow, her pelt was such an advantage to her during this time of the year. From above, the birds of prey couldn't spot her, which she was thankful for. Other times of the year they hounded her constantly, knowing she was weak. Her pelt was of broken up, colours, which camouflaged with the patterns of schist when Lillywhirl stood still. When she hunkered down, Lillywhirl could hardly be deciphered against her surroundings, making it advantageous against the ground dwelling predators who walked upright. It wasn't until she stood up and her blood soaked throat and underbelly became rather apparent, creating a dark mass against the scene-something which drew the attention of onlookers. The dried blood clung to her fur, she daren't wash herself in the middle of winter for she would have frozen to death. Instead she had endured the cold winter months, bunking down where she could, copying the ways of the Arctic Fox in order to survive and somehow, by sheer pure fate, Lillywhirl managed to survive on her own. She was nothing but a withered shell compared to her former self. Skinny and haggard looking, with the matted fur, Lilly was quite a frightful sight to look at.

Even now, as she stared down at her reflection in a murky, melted pool of snow, Lilly practised her snarl, pulling her lips back, and cackled. She truely looked like she was unhinged and perhaps she was. Lonesome and weary; it wore you down out in the harsh conditions of the Arctic. Having been challenged for alpha female position by a much younger female, Lilly accepted and foolishly, she fell into the trap that had been set to hinder Lillywhirl's triumph. Losing was terrible for her. Her social ranking in her pack saw her fall to the lowest Omega spot but even then that was pushing boundaries. She wasn't silly, she knew the pack had been having difficulties amongst it's members who were fighting for new spots daily. It had only been a matter of time before she lost to a juvenile. With her battle wounds she had been hesitant to leave the protection of numbers, but after three days after falling not-so-graciously from top-dog, Lillywhirl decided her wounds had closed significantly enough for her to branch out on her own and so she quietly left in the dead of the night, putting as many miles between the pack and herself as she could before daybreak.

Lilly's luck had almost expired by the time dawn broke. At a last push she found an Arctic Fox den, and cautiously, she crawled inside. It would provide her with some much needed protection from the howling winds outside over the next challenging months. The occupant was less than pleased to have a wolf invading his privacy, particularly because he was aware she could end his life within a moment. Lillywhirl begged him to let her stay, promising to protect him from any greedy polar bears thinking they might make a quick snack, and he reluctantly agreed. He couldn't trust her entirely. Not yet.

Lilly settled down, nursing the gashes she'd received from the new, victorious alpha female of her former pack. She had been grabbed from behind and pulled to the ground by her scruff, exposing her throat, and tender underbelly. The victorious young female had darted in to claw Lilly not once, but three times. Other young wolves who had been waiting for the moment had also darted in, tearing chucks of fur from her legs as she helplessly attempted to push them away. She received several bite wounds down her forelegs, and had chunks of muscle torn to to shreds. Her ears had been ripped, and some keen pack member had clawed her muzzle, narrowly missing her eyes. Lilly had cried out her surrender but still they kept coming, there was little chance for her to scramble to their feet, but the final blow was the male she had reigned with. He had appeared and sat at the side of the action, while the rest of his pack yipped and snarled in excitement, he sat there quietly, watching as they did their utmost best to murder Lillywhirl. The love he had shared for her was no longer, having seeing how she couldn't fight back. He needed a strong female lead and if she couldn't right herself with the onslaught he did not care for her.

Lillywhirl begged him to help her, but he simply stood and walked towards the frenzy, silencing the rest of the pack who cowered and lowered their heads. They backed off and Lillywhirl finally was able to take a breath. "Thank Y-" Lilly's former partner in crime placed a paw on her throat and dug his claws into her. In one foul swoop, he had ripped the last of what held her together, the blood poured profusely but he didn't care.

"No, thank you." He told Lilly, "for showing me how pathetic and weak you truely are." It wasn't a fair fight. Not when she had been ambushed like she had. If it had been the typical one on one brawl she could've easily taken the young juvenile down. Lilly was at a loss...she didn't understand what she had done to become a target.

Lilly would never know the reasoning behind all of this until she came across another wolf, that she had been ambushed because he felt threatened by her. She was smart, beautiful, she could fight better than he ever could. And so Fletch had decided he needed to get rid of her.

With that, he removed the claws from her muscle and walked away, the rest of the pack followed, leaving Lillywhirl to lay dying. Somehow, his words stung worse than all of her injuries combined, and Lilly allowed herself to let a silent tear fall.

Now, in the comfort on the fox den, Lilly cleaned herself up as best she could once more. When she was somewhat tidier, she lay her head on the floor of the den and closed her eyes, for what she considered would be the very last time.

However, fate had other ideas for this wolf.
