Character Description
Biography
Her dark silky fur blew angrily in the dusk wind. Her deep blue eyes focused intensely on the intruding wolves. It was her night to patrol the plain territory, and she was ready for anything. Styx kept her massive paws steady, and her muscular body pressed against the ground. She had detected a foreign packs scent, and found a hunting group composed of 6 wolves on her packs land. They were hungry, but still looked strong. Styx traced an old hunting path along the plains closest to the forest, circling the intruders and preparing her attack. Soon she was ready. The wolves had been trying to track an old prey scent, and began to wander back towards their land. But she swiftly moved along the tall blades of grass until she broke into a run. Her massive maw opened and she grabbed the biggest wolf by the throat. Styx slammed her paws into the dirt and grass and flipped the intruder until his body slammed into the ground. He tried to scramble away as the others turned around and came to his aid. She used her shoulders to shove him back down and snapped mercilessly at the others. They circled the pair, hackles raised and lips snarling. She detected a weakness, a smaller wolf was being slightly tucked behind a brown female. She thrust the male down one last time and dove towards the younger wolf. She knocked the brown wolf to her feet and snatched the young wolf by the scruff. She clenched her teeth down as the small wolf yelped and whined. The other 5 wolves backed away surrendering, and begged that she let the remaining wolf go. Instead Styx tightened her grip until blood ran from her mouth and pooled on her paws. She pressed the little wolves drained body on the ground and with a swift movement snapped her neck. The wolves scrambled away howling in agony. She stepped away and glared at the little wolf. It brought back so many memories...

Her mother dragged Angel from the den. Her frail body trembled and her white eyes searched for help. Styx and her mother and sister were in between packs, and surviving best they could. Her mother often grew tired of having useless pups to take care of, and pitted Angel and Styx against one another. This time was different though. Angel refused to fight her sister, and was going to pay the price. Any time one of the pups let their mother down they were beat and harassed. Normally it ended with a few cuts and a hurt ego. But Styx watched as her mother viscously tossed Angel into the river bed. The freezing water lapped at her legs and tail and she scrambled away shivering. Styx watched from some bushes a few feet away, her blue eyes gleaming against the snow. Her mother cornered Angel against the rushing water. She yelled about weakness and uselessness and finally snapped. She slammed Angel into the rocky sand and gripped her neck. She growled louder and louder and finally twitched, snapping Angels neck. She threw the body into the frigid water and stalked away into the night.

Styx never saw her again. Nor did she want to. But she had used that move more than she cared to admit. Wolves never questioned her. She was one of the largest, most feared wolves in the land. She had heard rumors about what the said. Styx loved it. She deserved the respect and fear of all others. No one else had suffered like her, and no one else worked for their honor like she had. One rumor stuck with her and became her namesake. As she trotted away into the cloudy night, she didn’t even glance at the young life she took. Instead she thought of the words she muttered to every wolf before she killed them. The last thing she growled to the small wolf was “Welcome to the Gates of Hell.”
