I used to feel the same way, I'd never retire any wolves, and there are a lot of people who agree.

You snagged one of my girl's pups from sanctuary! I almost kept him because those eyes looked so good

You put a price on the wolf that you think is fair, someone else pays it, they own it and can do whatever they want.

If you are really selective about the packs they go to, message packs you like and ask them if they want the wolf for free.

Eci, if there was more worth to them then maybe I'd consider it, but seeing that most of them are just exclusive cosmetics, my moral compass still tells me its not worth retiring wolves so... yeah, I just use mush if I ever need anything from the shop, cosmetics arent too important for me =D

I only keep the wolves I really like or have high rarity. I got a winer pelt and a quasar pelt from wolf party once

personally I spent most of that 100 mush when I started on food cuz I couldn't get enough from explore to support my pack
but yeah, I get that the buyer can do what they like once their sold. It just bothers me, I just find it kinda wasteful, specially if the wolf has over 30 talents. Some people would gladly take a wolf like that yk

Maybe I'm the wrong person to talk to though because I have a literal bone farm lol

If I get quests that need me to set some wolves free, I'll just get them from the Free Range rather than the Trading Post because I know they dont belong to anyone so its a bit less sad somehow

09:03:06
Heather, I feel you. I wouldn't retire wolves either if there wasn't a currency incentive. I think bones are too useful to pass up so I keep retiring wolves.
 kycantina
09:02:50 ky
naw because if they want fancy wolves they can explore, save, and pay fancy wolf prices. I had a high T girl like two days into the game
 Rogue Wildfires
09:02:16 Mac and Cheese
I'm pretty sure new packs get 100 mush to start off with. I think they can afford it
 Ecifircas
09:02:08
I think that's a very kind thing to do but unfortunately, once they're sold, the new owners can do whatever they'd like with them. Some packs find more use for the bone currency than mush so they'll spend 5 mush on a wolf to retire them for a bone.

I know this sounds a bit weird but I find retiring wolves a bit sad, at most I'll just make them leave my pack so they can roam around free-range, they might not be in my pack anymore but at least they're living their lives elsewhere in the game world

or it might just me being being oversentimental idk qwq
 Rushing River Tribe
09:01:37 Carrie/River
like I get it, but idk guess I just try to be considerate of the packs starting out that might want them but can't afford anything over 10-15 mush
 Rushing River Tribe
09:00:19 Carrie/River
I sell them at 5 mush so starting packs or new players can afford them
 Ecifircas
09:00:07
Rushing River Tribe, because when you put a wolf up for sale, you're saying 'okay, pay this and you can do whatever you want.' Clearly, you don't find use for the wolf either if you sell it.

I retire wolves all the time. Once you sell it, it's not yours to worry about - you've been paid off not to bother what happens to the pixels.

Character Description
Biography
"Leave now and we will take no further action upon you and the crimes you have committed here. The pup has been weaned now, that was the time frame we allocated for you." Falconwhirl watched her alpha male lunge at her father. She cried out and rushed forward, pleading with him to stop. Her alpha paused for a moment, only because he had taken pity on the poor pup; it wasn't her fault she was being forced to leave the pack, the blame belonged on the shoulders of her father. Falconhorn watched as the alpha male composed himself.

"Begone, now. Do not ever come back here. Is that clear?" Falconhorn whimpered a little, backing up into her sire's legs. "It's clear as day." She heard her fatherly spit sourly and then she felt his jaws clutch her by the scruff of her neck and turn tail. Falconhorn curled her tail between her legs so that it was well clear of the ground and had no risk of being trod on by her father. She was a smart little wolf pup and had been one of the most promising out of the litter from the beta female but once her pelt began to show hints of red and blacks it was then when the alpha pair and beta male became suspicious. There was only one wolf with a reddish-brown pelt and he was a omega.

Falconhorn had heard the conversation between her mother, her sire and alpha one night while the three assumed the pups to all be asleep, her ears were listening. It had been the night they had decided that Falconhorn and her sire were banished from the pack as soon as she was weaned and that had played on her mind every day until tonight. The eight weeks mark. True to his words, the alpha male had no chased the two of them out of the pack. Falconhorn wasn't sure how long her father could keep this pace up but for now she had decided to close her eyes and try for some rest. As young as she was she had already learnt much about the wider unknown through the stories from her elders and she wasn't sure what her father could do for her once they were on their own.

Eventually she must have nodded off because when she opened her eyes, she was cured into her sire's forepaws and he had nestled himself under the base of a large willow, the root system proving to make a nice shelter. "Hello sleepyhead." He cooed to her, and Falconhorn gave him some playful nips."Where are we now, dad?" She asked him, a little uncertain and she sat down to look up at him. "Somewhere far away from our former pack, that's all I know." He replied. Falconhorn thought for a minute. "Will we join a new pack? I wonder if they'll have any pups for me to play with?!" She watched her father shake his head slightly and laugh at her eagerness. "Not just yet, little one. It's only us for the time being, I want to keep you safe; how about we call ourselves the dynamic duo?" He asked her and she nodded. "I like it!" She yipped.

"So for now, until you get a little bit older and stronger, we will stay here, but you must keep quiet during the day while I am away hunting Falcon. You're an easy target to those wanting to kill for the sake of murdering something. Can you promise me you'll do that?" He asked her and Falcon agreed. "It'll be like playing hide and seek. I can stay hidden." She told him, not knowing that this would be her life for the next several months while her father would train her in the evenings after his return from a hunt. Small prey like mice and rabbits were their only source of food and sometimes if they were lucky enough, Falconhorn would catch an unsuspecting frog which hopped away from the river's edge. They were such a delicious snack!

Personality
Falconwhirl is is domineering and adventurous. Despite having being chased from a pack where her sire was an omega who bred to the beta female, Falconwhirl's father has come out of his shell and is no longer the pushover he once was; the protection of his only remaining pup his highest concern. Having been raised by her sire, Falconwhirl has picked up some of his dominant behaviour he often displays to passing rogues and more often than not beta males who find her intriguing, are soon scared off by their inability to handle her feisty behaviour. The oddball pair make a great hunting team and have managed to survive against the discrimination and torment that is inflicted on them when they come upon a new pack and attempt to join.

Preferences
Falconwhirl prefers the company of her sire. Since they were chased from their pack, Falconwhirl's father is close to her heart and feels as though he is the only one she can trust. Anymore than a crowd of five and Falconwhirl begins to get uncomfortable and fidgety. Somewhere deep down she does wish she could easily give her trust to another pack who would accept the travelling duo because it has been a rather lonesome life with just her father and not only that, he is starting to show his age which Falconwhirl worries about.

Special Skills
Falconwhirl is quite a lot more dominant compared to other females so this in turn scares away potential friends she is trying make. Lumrey, the alpha female from The Misaki Pack hit it off from the get-go when the three wolves crossed paths late one night while Falconwhirl kept guard over her father as he quenched his thirst at the stream that ran through Lumrey's pack territory.
