under the guise of an innocent and slight boy, he was one of the most feared killers of Kuzuo. no one knew who he was, for they'd only seen him in his beast form, a thick mass of whirling shadows, blood stained jaws and claws, and eyes of a pale silvery white.
blood moon,
was the name he was given. a name that he could revel in, and fill the void he was missing. each full moon, he stalked through the shadows of every small town, picking off his victims and ending their lives before they could scream. he never left a trace, and was impossible to track. by the age of sixteen, he'd spilled the blood of thousands upon his hands, taking the rage and confusion he felt for his abusive parents out on others.
anyone who'd gone against him in the past ended up missing, or dead, mutilated beyond recognition. blood moon was a name that was feared, whispered only by the bravest, and shouted out loud by the stupidest. he'd forgotten the name that his mother had whispered to him, seconds before she had died by his hand, a name that promised a painful road of suffering in the future, dark and dreary. simply alone.
NightHaze.
a name that defined who he was, a haze of swirling shadows, who only came out at night to prey on those who had been nothing but rude to him. those who got in the way of his homicidal rampages were also eliminated without batting an eye. he's a battle scarred warrior who lived a life filled with lies, who always walked alone.
"i'm not human."
a phrase that he constantly whispered to himself, a phrase that rang loud and clear in his head. a phrase that repeated like a broken record, a toxic poison that seeped into his veins, a permanent reminder of the things he'd done.
"why do you think that?"
he had made a couple friends, three in fact, and they had been destined to save Kuzuo. they made a strange group, a ragtag band of misfits, people who didn't fit in, people whose personalities clashed in the most horrid ways. as much as he wanted to sink his claws into their tender flesh, and taint their pure hands with blood, he didn't. they tried to help him, pull him from the dangers and darkness of his own mind, the shadows that ate away at the last shrivels of sanity he had left. he didn't want their help. he knew what he was, and what he would always be.
"i am not human. if there's anything i am, it's a monster."
cold and unfeeling, killing just because he could, raised on broken glass, blood and bone, he had become a ruthless and seemingly fearless killer. words meant nothing and neither did actions. there was nothing that could make him feel better. he was known under the name of blood moon, a wanted criminal, someone who even the highest ranking officers, or the strongest ryoku users faltered against in fear of death.
his name, though false, had become a terrifying legend, and he was one who fed off of people's fear. he remained silent, and disguised - no one suspected him, NightHaze, the guise of an innocent, quiet and slight male. no, he looked harmless. it was the monster that lurked inside of him, the monster with flashing white eyes and gaping bloody jaws that caused fear in others. he was blood moon to those who didn't know him, a ruthless and fearless killer, annihilating all of those who got in the way.
but the three who knew him well? they knew the true side, a hurt and confused boy, one who'd lived thirteen years without a name before stripping the lives from his abusive parents, and becoming, deteriorating into the monster that the public knew. the three didn't see him as blood moon, and instead, for who he really was.

a force to be reckoned with, NightHaze is described by others as a rather creepy and unsettling being to be around or to be associated with. his past hardened him into a person that no one would ever want to know, or get to know. close to being what one would call a psychopath, NightHaze struggles with emotions other than rage, cruelty and detestation.

describing himself as "inhuman, unfeeling, and i kill just because i can," he can be a formidable ally, yet a dangerous enemy to have. his burning hatred for humans has driven him to stay hidden away from society.

when the full moon rises, the blood moon falls.
preferring to live away from human civilization and interactions, NightHaze lives alone, deep in the woods. he prefers the life of solitude, peace and quiet, away from the chaos and darkness that are the humans.
influenced by his past, his preference for food tends to be small morsels of food, or he scavenges for half-eaten carcasses that are still edible.
for when the blood moon rises, all hope fails.
