Character Description
Biography
The scent of a fresh kill wafted across the midmorning air. Teeth and claws tore into the flesh of a horned buck, bloodying the muzzles of the hunting party. A male wolf with violet eyes snapped his jaws and let out a low growl at a wolf who was trying to eat some of the kill.
“We do not eat before the alphas and pups” He said, irritated at the wolfs insubordination. The wolf who was trying to take a snack shrunk back and began to wonder back to the den. Raptors claw huffed and grabbed one of the bucks horns. He and another wolf began to drag the carcass back to the den, leaving a trail of blood in its wake.
Back at the den pups nipped at the kill as it was drug to the alphas, Raptors claw gave off a warning grunt and the pups ran back to their mothers. The alpha male and female sat next to each other on a ledge that hung over the entrance to the den. The beta male, their son, was sitting off to the side, glaring at Raptors claw for growling at him earlier. In truth Raptors claw had no right to growl at the beta, he was ranked higher than him, but he deserved it. Raptors claw and the other wolf let go of the horns and bowed to the alphas, they nodded in approval. The violet eyed male licked his lips and decided to get some water. He walked through the forest that concealed his home, following a scent trail that led to a fairly large stream. His ears twitched as the sound of running water was drawing near. The crystal clear water came into view and the wolf licked his lips again. Raptors claw walked up to the waters and dipped his head down to take a drink, he lapped up the cold water, satisfying his thirst. His head shot up at the sound of rustling leaves and snapping twigs, but before he could turn around something slammed into his haunch, sending him into the water.
Instinctively the wolf held his breath before he hit the water, the cold nipping at his skin as he fell in. The stream was shallow enough for his to stand in but the water came up all the way to his stomach. The wolf turned in the water and stared what pushed him in, it was the beta male. Raptors claw growled, baring his teeth at the wolf.
“What was that for” He snapped, water dripping down his face. The beta smirked.
“That was for calling me out and making me look like a fool in front of the rest of the hunting party” He said with an undeserving authority. Raptors claw saw red, anger flashing over him. Without thinking he lunged out of the water, snarling. A look of horror covered the betas face, unable to get away. Raptors claw hit the betas chest with his front paws, knocking, and pinning him to the ground.
“Power is not a birthright.....it’s earned with teeth ......and claws.....and sacrifice.” He said in between labored breaths. The beta could only stare at him in shock.
“You do not deserve to be beta” He growled out before getting off the wolf, the wolf scrambled to his feet and took off, not saying anything in return. Raptors claw shook the water from his fur and thought over his actions, not regretting them one bit. Power is not something to take lightly, nor abuse. And no one knew that better than him. ~ Spirited Away
