"Again." A melodic intonation chimed, dulcet vocals directly contrasting the commanding presence within the words. Two juveniles clashed viciously, snapping jowls and the thudding of theirs bodies colliding with incredible force reverberating from the tree trunks that surrounded the training area.
Techno regarded the training with a calculating pair of pallid gold eyes, her expression flat before her lips would part to issue her next command. "Halt." Immediately the two young wolves ceased, their chests heaving as droplets of blood cascaded from superficial wounds on their hides. The alpha sauntered forward, eyeing one of the initiates contemptuously.
"You are too focused on brute strength. You fall into each attack clumsily, and your opponent can predict your next move easily." She jerked her head at the other trainee, who scrambled to the side of the clearing and settled his haunches on the terrain. She began to circle the youngster she had reprimanded, nodding invitingly at him. "Go on then. Attack me."
The brute hesitated at first, but as Techno stopped moving and peeled black lips over lethally curved incisors, he launched himself at the alpha. She deftly careened to one side, effectively dodging his attack, before utilizing her momentum to spin and slam her shoulder into the passing juvenile's ribcage, knocking the wind from his lungs.
"Clumsy. Predictable. You wouldn't last a second on the battlefield." Techno sneered in disdain at the trainee, who had turned their eyes to the terrain in vivid shame. "But I suppose all things can be made right with more practice." She flicked the end of her tail at the male who had been sidelined, and he lunged back into the dusty arena. Techno returned to her position on the edge of the clearing, inhaling deeply as she hummed, "Again."
