Zachariah's mother was a real prize - a warrior of notable skill and a beautiful female to boot. Zachariah was one the many pups that she bore to assorted males, and he never got much attention. Even among his siblings, he never garnered much worth. When he wa a young man, he went searching for his father. He knew his name, Rococo, but nothing more. Asking around, he met another wolf who had met him - in fact, she was his daughter. She claimed that Rococo had died shortly after she was born. Zach was heartbroken. But the wolf, Guilty Smile, offered to let him stay with their pack. Zach agreed, and lived many years in that same pack, and a million wolves captured his heart, meaning a million pups were born to him. He stopped visiting them after he started forgetting their names, but he claims to love them all just the same.

Zach is a remarkably disinterested wolf. Nothing really seems to matter to him, and he has never been known to get excited or upset over anything. He has a voice that might be described as both soothing and intensely boring. However, he is by no means a dull wolf. One advantage of his total deadpan voice is that he can tell jokes that go right over everyone's head. He's really one of the most sarcastic and biting wolves in the pack, but nobody knows this. He never laughs, but he has a good sense of humor. Because in not caring, he takes nothing seriously. He thinks life is one great big laugh, and couldn't care less what comedic tragedies befall him. He can be almost cruel in his mockery of other wolves, only sharpened by his good perception and blunt honesty. He cuts right to the core of every wolf and then laughs at their faults, not in an ill-natured way but in a way that speaks of the absurdity of life.

Zach gets along with almost all of the wolves in his pack, though those with easily hurt feelings generally avoid him. Nobody is safe from his dry wit, and the more messed up a wolf is, the more he revels in the laughter they produce. He particularly finds his alphas funny - like a comedy duo. Lawless is so perfectly torn in half, both deranged with motivation and immensely lazy. Ophelia has that sort of mindless love that never ends well. Zach's favorite wolf is the one that brought him here, Guilty Smile. She's one of the funniest, too. Her personality changes when she falls in love are ludicrous, and the irony of her curse of luck is simply delightful.
