Biography He was born on the first day of what counted as spring in these icy lands. The thawing ice came down as floods from the mountains around them, drowning land and beasts alike. The thunderous sound drummed in the gorges.
Yet, none of the wolves were impressed. They were hardened against all kinds of weather, and they all took the summer's deadly frolics most easily.
Between his mother's paws, three bundles of fur were sleeping. It was indeed their fur that had the pack curious. Not the red-and-white who looked like their mother, no. The greyish-creme female was only the third ever to be born in this pack. She look like her father, and Frostbite remembered a female that had been born before him. Next to her, her brother looked similar, yet different. The little male, too, had his father's colouring, but with the intensity of his grandfather's iron coat. And while he had both of their dominant demeanour, he had a ferocity that was his very own.
Days after he had been born, another flood drowned the land. When the sudden masses of water burst the den's walls and burst into the cave, the wolves grabbed the pups and ran. But there were only two adults and three pups. The red sister died under a falling rock before the adults returned from saving her siblings. The first moon of summer had just waxed and waned and started waxing again when his father, the famous Control, did not return from a hunt. His mother went looking for him, but never came back.
The pack always had had two or three males. Ferocity's grandfather, legendary Rhett, took over the young pop's education. He would have to grow fast, and growing fast he did.
His mother stayed lost. Even, when after another moon, a howl rang the cold air and called of Control's homecoming. He took the news with a unmoved face. But still, it bothered him. It was rare to fall in love for one of the pack. But that female... He never forgot.
Was Control proud of his son who took over his duties? The two males liked and respected each other. Still, it was no love, not like both of them felt for Ferority's sister. The pack was none to talk about feelings or even think about them much. Had they done so, Control might have seen the truth: that he missed his mate and ached knowing she never had the chance to see what a outstanding pup she birthed.
