"Have you ever seen a star die?"
My mother asked. She was injured in one of the explorations, everyone was seeking like crazy the potion that would heal her, but her wound got infected, it was too late, probably she didn't have much time left. Lately she had had delusions, and I was not going to abandon her in that state.
"No, mother"
"Me neither. Because the stars don't die, honey. They continue living, in us"
"But we die, mother" I objected.
"I will live in you, Malus. if not, I'll wait for you, wherever I go, I will not move, so you can find me"
I snuggled into her, on the verge of tears.
"You illuminated my life, Malus, you are my little star" She said in a very low voice
"I'll keep doing it, mother. Don't leave me, I will not have anyone to illuminate on if you leave"
But she didn't respond. And now this light was only illuminating an empty room.
