Biography
The Legend of Roanoke


The wolf pup shuddered from the cold. He had dug himself a little den underneath a fallen log, and was now curled up in a ball. Darkness and decended over the Earth once again, and a dense fog hat settled inches of the ground. Roänokė was terrified of the monsters that lurked in the night even though they would'nt harm him. 

Years ago, long before he was born, a virus was released by the humans to keep the population of animals down. However it spread too quick, and the diesese swept over the continents too fast to be contained. Hundreds of endangered species got wiped out, and even some of the most common animals became extremely rare to find. It was a global disaster.

Not too long ago the virus had mutated. It no longer killed the animals dead, it turned them mindless, carnivorous and extremely dangerous. Their minds died but the body continued to function, even though the flesh became to die and rot off their bones from lack of blood flow. Evem the most peaceful pets turned deadly once it was infected. The infection transfers through scratches, bites, contact and bodily liquids such as blood. Once infected, said animal goes insane in a few hours, they lose their natural instincts and act strange. Then their brains shut down, and they collapse for a short time before they re-animate as bloodthirsty monsters.

Roänokė had watched this happen to his whole family and pack. A Warrior wolf had come back infected from a mere scratch, and went ballistic. He then continued to murder and turn the whole pack into freakish monstrosities. Roänokė had then learnt that he was a part of a very rare group called 'Immunes'. Coming from a range of different species, Immunes are special animals who cant catch the current version of the virus. Usually because they had been born after the mutated virus, and they had antibodies against the diesese.

Roänokė was still scared of the infected. Funnily enough, even though the weren't aggressive towards him, they were drawn to him like a beacon. They followed him around all day, mostly just walking along behind him as mindless beasts. With all other non-infected animals in hiding, the 5 month old pup had no other friends exept for a small infected stag he had named Asarix, a infected hare he called Seiveta, a deformed crow nicknamed Rayven and a weird acting black cat named Riddick. The animals always had stuck by his side no matter where he went. They had saved him lonliness many times. And for that he was greatful.

In the morning, Roänokė and his little hoarde will travel west. The pup had heard that that a group of immune animals had banded together to create a safe haven. A safe place for all non-infected to live out their days. The last hope for animal-kind.
